We found Chateu de Behen on the Sawdays site as looking for off beat places to stay enroute through France. It is a gem of a B&B. Faded grandeur in a beautiful old building but with high quality bathrooms and very comfortable beds. It is only 5 mins from the motorway but very peaceful in a tiny village with no traffic noise at all, feels like deepest countryside. Chickens, goats, ponies, and a laid back farming feel. Norbert was a charming host, very welcoming but not intrusive and gave us good recommendation for a meal at the pretty St Saveur sur Sommes, about 25 mins drive away and definitely worth the visit. Best coffee of our trip at breakfast! And we brought back a couple of bottles of his excellent value Bordeaux too! Would highly recommend.

This is a lovely old property in a quiet ,rural location . It is not really a hotel but more a very elegant bed and breakfast / chambre d’ hotes establishment with a.charming proprietor. Excellent in its own way , with an especially good breakfast .

Peaceful rustic chic at this family owned animal loving chateau. You’ll receive a warm welcome, large comfy room and good breakfast from the charming Norbert & Hubert. Thank you very much for a very pleasant nightstop en route to Le Shuttle.

Great place to stay if you are crossing the Channel in the evening. It's an hour and a bit South from Calais, close to Abbeville. Norbert was very welcoming and personable. Nice rooms and breakfast. We were travelling in a classic car so were grateful that the gates to the estate are locked at night. You have to go elsewhere for dinner, probably Abbeville - as there are no restaurants in the village. Norbert is happy to recommend. We got lucky as there was a mobile Pizza van in Behen the day we got there - and the Pizzas were really good.

This is our 3rd stay and again it didn’t disappoint. Wonderful hosts with lovely food and wine. The chateau is looking rather tired but has character in abundance.

Second time we have stayed here. Excellent bed and breakfast. An ideal stopover before catching Le Shuttle back to UK for us. Norbert our host always provides a very warm and friendly welcome. This is a lovely Château with plenty of character and nice grounds. Our German Shepherd enjoys her stays here too. It’s not often we find places we want to stay at again and again but Château De Behen is one we intend to visit many more times in the future.

Beautiful old Chateau, quintessential French faded glory, set in lovely grounds. Friendly welcome from English speaking French owners. Comfortable bed - fell asleep to the sounds of owls hooting! fabulous continental breakfast

Très agréable séjour au château de behen. Si vous aimez le charme désuet des vieilles belles demeures, vous y trouverez votre bonheur ! Le Parc est incroyable, chèvres, poney,mouton , chevaux. Des rose trémières de partout. Petit déjeuner simple et correct ( fromage, charcuterie, croissant). Literie confortable. Et par dessus tout la gentillesse de l'hôte.

Comme toujours, le même accueil chaleureux, l'ambiance décontractée, familiale, dans ces vieilles pierres du 18ème siècle autour desquelles paissent chèvres, chevaux et lamas. Idéalement situé entre la Baie de Somme et le Camp César de Samara (à découvrir absolument !!). Merci à Norbert et Hubert pour ce beau séjour !
