We had an amazing stay at Shangri La for summer vacation with kids. Hotel is very safe and comfortable to stay with young kids. All staff is dedicated all day and night long to provide the best experience. Hotel and facilities are clean and well maintained. The swimming pool is amazing and kids can spend our on the slide. The beach is just across swimming pool. Breakfast buffet is a perfect mix of Chinese and Western breakfast to satisfy everyone. Dinner buffet is also amazing, including the wide sashimi/sushi/roll bar.

We’ve been spoiled at Crowne plaza..They got a nice pool(huge) and the sea view room is just on point.. One of the receptionist (a legend😁) HARRY ZENG helped us upgrade our room to a sea view suite and granted a late check out too for our late flight.. Can’t complain..Nowhere else we would stay once we are back in Beihai again.. Crowne plaza it is!not to mention their rooftop bar that we’re about to check out in shortly🥰

The reception staff is very helpful, although more English-speaking staff would be advisable as most of the staff does not speak English and it is a 5star hotel. I would like to mention Lisa who speaks English and was very helpful, providing useful information regarding hotel facilities, Covid test places and places of interest. Big up to Lisa! The breakfast buffet is okay, but the pastry choice is a bit limited and, generally, it feels that the hotel does not really cater for western guests (mainly Chinese dishes). The buffet lounge is full of light; it is very spacious and facing the seaside, which is great. However, the cleanliness can be improved as the tables and the floor were not cleaned quickly enough, and my table and the floor under it were greasy/dirty. The facilities are quite varied. The pools, gym, tennis court, steam room were used during my stay and they were in good condition. The steam room takes a long time to heat up though. The staff in the gym/swimming pool does not speak English at all. The table tennis room and some other facilities were under maintanace during our stay, so we did not use them. Overall, the hotel has more recreational facilities than most hotels. Well done! Regarding the location, the hotel is on the coast, but the sea is not swimmable there, so you can only enjoy the view. The hotels near the main Silver beach (for example, Crowne Plaza) are considerably more expensive (about 500rmb difference), so a 30-min taxi ride there (costs around 30 rmb one way) still makes the Furama hotel a much more economical option. The sea view from the rooms is very nice! Overall, it was a very pleasant stay and a late checkout was highly appreciated! My rating of the hotel is 4.5.

Because I was going to Weizhou Island, I specially booked the hotel closest to the pier. It takes about ten minutes to walk to the pier, and it takes only a few minutes to take a taxi to Silver Beach. It is a parent-child hotel. My kid didn’t want to go back to his room after swimming all day~ The only indoor swimming pool on the island was so crazy about it! Before arriving at the hotel, the hotel customer service warmly called to ask if there was any need. Since I had a child, I asked for extra bed rails. After checking in, the hotel upgraded the suite to a sea view suite. The bed rails had also been installed. All supplies were online and bedside. The alarm clock is actually a JBL, and also has the function of a Bluetooth speaker, and the details are perfect. We had breakfast and dinner in the Shiguang buffet restaurant on the first floor. Personally, I felt that the staple food tasted average, but the desserts were more satisfying. I went to Weizhou Island for the second time to watch the whales and found this treasure hotel by accident. The hotel is more stylish. A very large hotel is said to have only eleven yards. We have booked a family suite that is more suitable for our second-child family. There are two bedrooms and one living room. The eldest lived alone in the second bedroom on the second floor. The two of us took Erbao to live in the master bedroom and the beds in the two bedrooms. They are all big beds, and this type of apartment really seems to be tailor-made for a second-child family like us. The last time I came to Weizhou Island, I have seen all the scenic spots on the island. This time I mainly brought children to watch whales 🐳. The housekeeper provided by the hotel is very professional, and has made a itinerary for us according to our needs-going to the sea to watch whales, catch crabs in the sea. The hotel helped to book a boat seat for whale watching. It has to be mentioned here. Considering that we are two adults with two children, and Erbao is only three years old, the hotel specially arranged a housekeeper to follow us to the sea. Taking care of the children, we found out that this arrangement was really very thoughtful after we went to sea. When we were watching the whales on the return journey, the sea was windy, and both of us were seasick. Fortunately, a housekeeper took care of the two children for us. The butler took a lot of photos and videos for us when we were whales, and they were very professional (the circle of friends we posted were all taken by the butler), what was even more touching was that the butler saw that we were all seasick and informed the hotel in advance Ginger tea was cooked for us. When we returned to the hotel and entered the room, a pot of warm ginger tea had been delivered to us, which warmed the stomach and heart. The next day, the housekeeper took us to the sea to catch crabs. Under the guidance of the housekeeper, the children quickly learned how to catch crabs. The two children were going to play crazy. It was expected to play for more than an hour. for a whole morning. In terms of other hotel experiences, I have to mention a big contrast from the last time we went to the island. Last time we went to the island, we stayed in three different hotels and B&Bs. We found that there was a common problem, probably because it was an island and the humidity was very high. Great, the bedding and linen of the three stores we stayed in all felt sticky, that is, it was very wet and uncomfortable, but this store did not have this feeling at all. My husband said that maybe it was because of the linen in the new store. For a relatively new reason, I only found out after asking the housekeeper that this hotel has installed a fresh air system and a dehumidification system, and the hardware equipment is good! The hotel is very close to the pier and far from scenic spots such as Nanwan Street. The hotel is designed with a simple tropical style with a single-story courtyard. It looks very large. In fact, there are very few public areas for guests to use. There is only the front desk reception and the restaurant. There are only 2 lounge chairs in the swimming pool, and there is no sunshade. Except for 6 pool rooms that can directly enter the swimming pool, guests in the remaining rooms can only enter the swimming pool through the position of two lounge chairs. I booked a room temporarily on the same day. I booked a forest king-size bed suite for 1,580 yuan/night. The area written was 78 square meters. The actual indoor area is at most 30 square meters. There is a 10-square-meter yard outside. The room is a bit depressing. It is not a suite concept in the actual sense. I don't know why the faulty room is still booked online. Later, for various reasons, it was upgraded to a sea view king suite. The room area is 30 square meters, and the outdoor yard area is 20 square meters. The yard door faces the beach, there is a forest in the middle, and there are islanders passing by at night. The security and privacy are not very good, but it is better than the previous room type. Room hardware facilities: There is no TV or safe in the room. The audio is purely for display and cannot be connected. Some sockets have poor contact. The switch buttons of the gauze curtains and curtains are installed in reverse. The water in the pool is very small and it takes more than 3 hours to fill it with water. The stone slabs for luggage are very rough, and the suitcases will be worn when moving. There are no sockets in the yard. Service: The hotel service is very warm and friendly, helping with luggage, various butler services, and since I was on a late afternoon ship, the hotel provided a late check-out. I asked the hotel to help light the mosquito coils, but they didn't light them when I returned to the room. During my stay, I was bitten by mosquitoes for more than 20 times and killed many mosquitoes and cockroaches. Dining: The mini bar in the room is free. Afternoon tea is provided in the restaurant. Since there is no one in the restaurant, the air conditioning is not turned on. Breakfast is in the form of a set meal. The white porridge is very thin, the beef is synthetic and has a fishy smell, the side dishes are a bit oily, and coffee needs to be actively asked by the staff. The restaurant menu is very simple. The seafood is only processed and needs to be bought by yourself at the seafood market. The seafood market is far from the hotel. If you want to eat seafood for dinner, you can only solve it outside. Lunch is solved in the hotel. The boiled pork slices are not tasty, that is, only spicy, not salty; the chicken is frozen (the waiter told me that it was killed and chopped), a little old, and asked to stew it, but it was braised and fried, and the taste was okay; the speed of serving is slow, a total of 30 minutes, and then let it be sent to the room. The hotel basically has no meat dishes, except pork, there is nothing. I wanted to order beef, but they said it was not available, and chicken was not shown on the menu. The rice was cold, and a 6 yuan table fee was charged, which was not explained before. Tremella soup was delivered in the evening, which was not sweet and just right. The swimming pool was only used at night. Since it was not a swimming pool room, I was afraid of disturbing the guests in the swimming pool room, which made me feel a little uncomfortable. There were also many bugs in the swimming pool water. The overall hotel design is OK, the room is not a suite, not private and safe enough, the hardware facilities are insufficient, the service is enthusiastic, but it is very chaotic, there are few public areas for guests to relax, and the catering is poor.
