Hotels near Great Wall at Bailing Pass, Beijing

Needless to say, the transportation is very convenient. The highway is very convenient. It doesn't take long to get off the highway and drive along the winding mountain road. The interior is simple and spacious, and the equipment is basically complete, including gas stove, microwave oven, rice cooker, dishwasher, ice maker, refrigerator, karaoke, and super large TV. In short, everything that can be used is at hand. The barbecue equipment is also very complete, and there are special ovens for roasting whole lamb in large and small skewers. The bedroom is also very clean and comfortable. The sky is full of stars at night, and it is very quiet. There is a stream down the slope when you go out of the door, and the children can catch fish and tadpoles. There is also breakfast when you wake up the next day. The pickled vegetable shreds of the farmer's house with the perilla leaves grown by themselves have become a luxury for city people. It left a very good memory and I look forward to coming again in the future.

Absolutely loving this place! The vibes is totally awesome and a nice place to chill with lots of activities to do, though unfortunately we only had one night here as we only planned to hike Jin Shan Ling, but we will definitely be back for more next round! Service and hospitality is top notch and absolutely grateful to have such a nice bunch of staff who were super friendly and warm. The hotel was near Jin Shan Ling (about 5 mins drive) and they even offered to drive and pick us to and fro the hotel and Jin Shan Ling. Within the hotel, they were concerned with us feeling cold so they ferried us to our room as our room was a few mins walk away, and fetched us from our room to the lobby when we wanted to hang out at their chill areas there which turned out to be really relaxing. They served super sumptuous meals including a hot pot set which was great for winter and even offered us complimentary dishes as part of winter solstice. One of the staff named Henry Zhang gave us a tour at their exhibition centre showing the various scenic areas in 四季山, 金山岭 and 北京城! We enjoyed the experience sharing from him and the explanation to the various attraction sites, appreciate the sweet gesture as he didn’t actually had to do that but he did so! Room was absolutely great and spacious, extremely clean and comfortable with heaters inside the restrooms which was super nice. It was a good night rest for us. Breakfast was their local dishes which was great too and super filling (buns, eggs, porridge, dough sticks, specialty cold dishes). All in all, we had no complains from the time we checked in, super loved the experience and it definitely make us want to book another trip here again soon! 特别喜欢这里的服务，在这里住的很舒服也非常开心。好美的地方和人，令我都马上想在订下一趟旅程来这里了！好可惜我们只住了一晚因为我们本来只是想爬金山岭，如果能待多几天那该多好。。简直完美! ❤️

This accommodation accepts foreigners. After booking this place, tried to contact owner via WeChat with contact provided, but owner never added me until I needed to text in Chinese from my phone (using translator). When arrived to the location he sent me on a map, I received directions to find the apartment myself. We never once met the owner of the property. All conversations using Wechat were in Chinese (me using translator). The little studio was clean when we arrived, but later at night was full of loud insects that we had to eliminate in order to sleep. The bed was very hard not comfortableat all. The kitchen was supposed to have everything available to make meals (at least was what I have read in previous reviews) but in reality had nothing, not even a spoon. It was a very simple place, a bit expensive for what you get.

This is a good budget option if you want to stay overnight near Gubei Watertown - but there are serious limitations. It was very confusing and quite stressful when we first arrived at the location provided - we couldn’t find the address given, but a local lady was very helpful and called the owners/managers for us and then a driver came to collect us. The address given is a meeting point, not the location of where you are actually staying. It was as we were driven to the 2 apartments (not rooms in an individual villa) that I realised we were not staying in or right at the Watertown as I thought we were. It was a 5-10 minute drive away. To be clear the managers were very friendly and always available on WeChat and the driver took us to and from the Watertown whenever we liked so that was fine - but it means you have to pay entry every time you enter the Watertown - which is expensive - so just take that cost into account. There also didn’t seem to be anywhere to eat at the apartment complex either but perhaps we couldn’t find it (it was a huge complex) so I recommend you eat before you go or take (especially breakfast) food with you. I booked two rooms with a view. One room had a GREAT view of the Great wall (photo included) and the other looked at nondescript trees and grass the other direction. Mainly I went on this special trip with my older parents to Gubei so it was disappointing that we weren’t really staying together in a villa - we were in a giant apartment building on separate floors.

I stayed 4 nights in this lovely apartment. It had a stunning view of the great wall from the little patio. The room is very spacious and comfortable. It even includes a refrigerator! The hostess was SUPER helpful in helping me find taxi drivers to different sections of The Great Wall. There was a shuttle driver to take me down to the Gubei Water Town or pick me up from the bus stop. Also, breakfast was delivered to my room each morning. I only gave 4 stars for location because I was dependent on the shuttle driver. Once you are at the apartment, you can't really go explore anything else. My overall experience was 10/10 and I would recommend!

It was simply amazing. The room gives provides you a view of The Great Wall and it lokks even better under the night sky when it's all lit up. As an added bonus there is balcony where you can just sit and enjoy the view sipping coffe, reading a novel or even enjoying a meal. The hotel is located near Wtown which is also a must go to place. The bed is super comfy too. The area surrounding the hotel is super nice too, very green, rather pretty.

Overall good experience for our group of 4. Customer service can easily be contacted via WeChat. Location is close to Gubei main entrance. Good value and local amenities for eatery and shops.

Location: 200 meters away from the gate of the scenic spot. Environment: Clean and tidy, with pots and pans available! Balcony scenery: Pictured below, see for yourself, no need to elaborate! Comparatively speaking, this one is very cost-effective, much better than the ones in the scenic area! It is about 20 square meters in the scenic area, and this two-story hotel has a balcony! The price difference between the B&Bs in the scenic area is really too much, and the price difference is not as good as Just buy an annual pass for unlimited entry and exit. (PS: You can bring as much food and drink as you can. After all, it is a commercial attraction, so it must be expensive. Nongfu Spring is 3 yuan, and Jägermeister is 168 yuan.) By the way, self-driving friends can enjoy pick-up and drop-off by the boss car. Only one copy of the entire scenic spot, free)

This is a homestay with attitude. The decoration style is a minimalist and simple style that integrates the surrounding mountain scenery and does not destroy the original mountain environment. It is casual but the details are not simple. Because it is a homestay located on the top of the mountain, you can climb up to see the mountains, watch the sunset, the sunrise, and the stars. Those wonderful moments that you can't get in the city are at your fingertips here. It is suitable for slow travel, leisure and leisure, and stop and go. The homestay is clean and neat. Those who are afraid of cold have floor heating, electric heaters, and electric blankets; those who want to escape the heat have terraces, floor-to-ceiling windows, and tents. The most important thing is: meals! You can also choose the time and place to eat according to your own ideas. This is simply humane. Pet-friendly hotel, there are ”welcome dogs” to pet dogs! If you come to Gubei Water Town to travel, I highly recommend this homestay. My friend recommended it to me. The price/performance ratio is really high. It is much more cost-effective than the price of the homestay in Water Town. The design of the room is also long in my aesthetics. The health situation also makes me particularly surprised. I have lived in many hotels and homestays before. I didn't expect their home to be so clean and the room size is right. The most important thing is that the large terrace can see the scenery and think about things, especially at night, it is too comfortable. The meal in the small garden below, the restaurant next to it is ready to send it directly, this experience is really perfect, must give a good review!
