I have stayed here many many times and have always loved staying here till 5th July 2024. When we arrived we noticed the room had apparently been cleaned BUT, there was grass or something similar in the shower base near the drain, there soap holder was covered in pink liquid, and there was some brown stuff around the basin, ( which I cleaned). Even the area where the bbq /smoke area is wasn’t as well maintained as it used to be. But the people in room 2 the language, abuse was a bit over the top. But for them to come back early hours of the morning with there high beams on straight into our room was a joke and disrespectful. Then to find the next morning that they had damaged our car with there bags and doors. I do understand that this motel is under new owners but when you walk into reception the smell is a little overwhelming. The previous owners always had it so fresh and had drinks in the fridge at reception were I noticed there was only a couple of items. I understand it takes awhile to adjust and I honestly hope the new owners do as this used to be a friendly welcoming motel, always clean and fresh smelling. It was always a joy to stay. This time it has left a sour taste and after many years of staying here I think I will looking at a different place to stay in Benalla. Especially since the price has gone up but the service has gone down.
