The Rainbow Motel was great. The room was very clean, with a newly redone bathroom. The staff were friendly. The location is very good - just a 10 minute walk to downtown Bend, and a 3 minute walk the other way to a shopping mall with grocery store. Excellent value.

We had read many good reviews on this place so we decided to try it out. First of all, be aware that the place is right next to a very very busy road. The room we were given (101) was so noisy, it was completely unbearable. Also the room reeked of cigarettes and mold, and was very shabby. The place has definitely seen better days and it wasn’t even very inexpensive! Apparently they have recently raised the rates. Luckily the gal at the desk was good enough to refund our payment when we decided to leave. Within 10 minutes we found another place down the road for only $10 more that was infinitely nicer and way more quiet. I’m not sure how the place could possibly get a good review from anyone! I couldn’t wait to get out of there!
