The second stop of the Kitakyushu trip in Japan was to the Grand Base Beppu Hotel in Beppu. The hotel is about 700m from Beppu Station, within walking distance. This property has no staff onsite. So you have no ability to leave luggage before check in or after checkout, so you have to use the lockers at the train station. Email on entry was confusing and required a call. I observed similar struggles with other guests. Checkin is all via keypad.
