"This hotel is perfectly located right in the heart of Beppu's Hells, with attractions literally on its doorstep. All five Hells (Jigoku) are within a 3-5 minute walk, which is incredibly convenient! While the hotel's exterior is unassuming, its interior is a hidden gem. The Japanese garden in the common areas is beautiful. Our room was spacious with a great view, allowing us to see the steam rising from the Hells. Plus, having a private onsen in the room meant we could soak to our heart's content! We even had the large public bath all to ourselves during our visit. The Teppanyaki set meal we booked was a good experience, though we wished there was a little more meat. We specifically requested Japanese-style breakfast when booking, but for some reason, we were given Western-style instead. When we inquired, the staff informed us that it couldn't be changed. On a very positive note, it was our wedding anniversary trip, and the hotel thoughtfully prepared a small gift and took commemorative photos for us – a very nice touch! Aside from these minor issues, everything else was fantastic. The only real downside was the hotel's shuttle service to the station. While they offer it, the last departure is strictly before 11 AM. If you miss it, you have to take a taxi. It feels a bit inconvenient to offer a service with such a limited timeframe. For instance, we visited the Hells in the morning and ended up leaving the hotel after 11 AM, so we had to take a taxi to the JR station. An improvement here would be much appreciated! Overall, my husband, who was visiting Japan for the first time, said it was an excellent Japanese onsen hotel experience. He gives it a big thumbs up!"

"First off, the hotel's location is excellent, right next to Beppu Station, making it super convenient to get around, and there are tons of dining options nearby. The hotel breakfast was one of the best I've had in Japan – very extensive. However, it can get crowded on weekends, so you might have to queue. In the evenings, they offer a complimentary bowl of soba noodles, which taste great, but again, be prepared for a potential wait. The onsen facilities are good. The private baths are always full and require queuing, but there are several public pools available, and the hygiene is fine. After a soak, you can enjoy free ice cream while taking in the night view. The room's cleanliness and amenities are satisfactory, though the window only opens a crack, and there's no real view to speak of. The hotel has a very high occupancy rate, with many Korean guests, so there's a good chance you'll encounter queues for everything during peak hours. Upon entering, you need to take off your shoes and store them at the entrance. Whether that's an inconvenience or a convenience is a matter of personal preference. Overall, the impression is good, and the Japanese staff's service attitude is impeccable. However, considering the price, I wouldn't say it offers exceptional value for money."

"I stayed in Beppu for 4 nights, trying different onsens at different hotels.Tsuruta was my last Beppu hotel. Although the room i stayed in is rather dated and items worn out, all necessary equipment are working very well, i stayed at a newer 4.5 star hotel prior and the air-conditioner, hair dryer and toilet exhaust were noisy and faulty, while in the older Tsuruta where everything works well! This don't judge a book by its cover, older hotels is just as good! I've attached a photo of the park and harbour view from my room at Tsuruta."

"This traditional Japanese hotel is conveniently located a 5-6 minute walk from the JR station, and it's popular among Japanese guests. While the facilities are a bit dated, the service remains warm and friendly. A minor inconvenience was that the in-room air conditioning only allowed for fan speed adjustment, not temperature control. Additionally, the women's hot spring bath was recently undergoing renovations, meaning men and women had to use the onsen at separate, designated times."

"At first, I couldn't find any reviews on the trip. I decided to book because the price was very good. There was a private onsen that was semi-open air. It was the best. There were pajamas provided. The housekeeper cleaned the room. You can inform the time. It was a really suitable place to relax. It was worth it. There was a smoking area. There was a sitting area. If you come to Beppu, I recommend this place. You won't want to go anywhere else. It's a walkable distance from the restaurant."

"It was a very nice trip. The staff were very good with good service. And the food quantity was big, donno why some comment said they were not full. 😝 I have a very good memory there. Just one thing if there are more individual hot spring room will be perfect ^^ Definitely will go again"

The lounge is a highlight, providing complimentary snacks and drinks, including alcohol, though seating can be limited during busy times. Breakfast was average and could be improved, especially considering the price. The hotel’s location is a bit far from Beppu downtown, which may be inconvenient for those wanting frequent city access. Parking spaces are also limited, which can cause some difficulty if returning late at night. Despite these drawbacks, the overall stay was enjoyable, thanks to the comfortable rooms and attentive staff."

"An absolutely fantastic onsen ryokan with a superb, prime beachfront location. It was the most affordable onsen ryokan I booked for this trip, yet it turned out to be the most delightful surprise. The tall gentleman at the front desk provided absolutely outstanding service! He was so warm and friendly, and his sincerity truly shone through. Much appreciated! Definitely make sure to reserve the private open-air onsen on the 6th floor. Soaking in the onsen while watching the sunset is such a blissful experience. The room we booked also came with its own private onsen. It offers incredible value for money. All the staff members were incredibly polite, and the breakfast was delicious too! I absolutely adore Beppu city!"

"First of all, I would like to extend special thanks to the hotel for their cooperation, and especially to Mr. Ninomiya from the hotel for his tremendous assistance, which made my partner and I experience a truly romantic and unforgettable time. The hotel staff spoke good English and were very friendly. The environment was tranquil and clean, the hot springs were excellent, and the view from the room I booked was absolutely superb. If I have the chance to visit Beppu for a vacation again in the future, I will definitely return and will also recommend it to my friends."
