It is a typical modern Japanese hot spring hotel, not large in scale, not many rooms, and with a large bath. Yukata and toiletries can be taken in the lobby. Coffee, tea, etc. are also provided free of charge in the lobby.
The private bath room we booked has a wooden bath on the balcony, and the sea view is outside, which is not bad. There is a water dispenser in the room, which can directly provide hot water, room temperature water and ice water, which is very practical.
The food is standard, the ingredients are OK, there are barbecues and hot pots, and you can eat enough.
The door behind the hotel leads directly to the beach, and there is a large Don Quijote nearby, which is open until two in the morning. It is simply a paradise for tourists. We arrived at the store at nine o'clock, and it was crowded. Maybe 80% of the tourists in Beppu were shopping there.

We enjoyed our stay thoroughly. Service was very good. Parking was an extra 550 yen per day. Breakfast was Japanese style but did include a bacon and egg cooked in front of each guest with the small Japanese hotpot. Our room fit 3 adults was very nice with clean modern amenities consisting of one room with two single beds, and a sizable living room with futon in the evening for the third bed. Nice view of Beppu tower in our room. Hotspring outdoor was totally enjoyable with a view of the sunrise and the Beppu Bay. Gotta be careful though because for ladies, someone in a boat at the bay might be able to see our naked upper bodies with telescope if we stand up.😅

We were met by polite and efficient staff who could converse in English. We were given a tour of the place when we checked in. There were video games, manga, eating and Onsen recommendations, free self serve water, soft drinks, coffee, tea, cocoa and corn soup in the common area. Bicycles, indoor and outdoor slippers are free to use. Free parking is available on site. Our en-suite family room was very spacious, 2 double beds in the living room/ kitchen and a separate room with 2 single beds. Everything was very clean and the beds were firm and comfortable. No check out procedure required. There’s Don Quijote about 2 buildings away. I’m definitely coming here again when I next visit!!!

You need to contact the website customer service one day in advance to receive a confirmation number before you can enter the hotel. After arriving at the hotel, you need to enter information at the door and give the room password. The room is so big and comfortable that you can wash and dry clothes. It is worth recommending the hotel. The only drawback is that the hotel does not have a hot spring bath.

For those driving, please note that there are limited parking lots behind the hotel building. If it's full, you'll need to park at the multi-story car park beside the hotel, which doesn't come with a lift. Several convenience stores are located nearby the hotel. Overall, the check-in experience was smooth. However, the wait for the lift is quite lengthy, as there are only three lifts serving all customers. It took me 10 minutes to go down during peak hours.

Really enjoyed this unique hotel that has a mix of art, onsen, great views and decent food. The room (419) was not luxurious but was well designed, the balcony overlooked the extraordinary landscape that is Beppu, the greatest feature was the semi open-air onsen bath facilitated by the floor to ceiling windows, connected to the generous deck space. It was fun to walk around the gallery space and admire the interesting architecture, color palettes, and exhibits championing Beppu culture, landscape, flora, fauna etc. Sitting in the Peak restaurant for dinner, I was amused that one of the waitstaff was a robot that ferried food and empty dishes back and forth. Dinner was laid-back, had a window side seat that allowed me to enjoy the city glitter below. My stay here was at a fraction of another Beppu hotel on this trip, in many ways I enjoyed this place more and would not hesitate to come back.

We booked the Sora western room type, which was described as having two double beds and three futon beds. However, upon arrival, I didn't see any futon beds in the room nor were they offered. In terms of service, I expected a better introduction to the rooms given the price I am paying. We received a very simple introduction to the common area, but didn't get a room tour showing where things are located, which Yukata to wear indoors and outdoors, etc. I've paid a similar price for another onsen hotel where we received a much better reception upon arrival. We did ask for breakfast in the room for more privacy, and while we were able to do that for half the price at other hotels in Fukuoka, the staff didn't seem to understand when we asked about it. Overall, the amenities and room are really good, but service-wise, it's hit or miss.

Last time I booked a Western-style room this time I booked a Japanese-style room. Also, the glass used is cloudy due to aging deterioration, so it's time to replace it with a stone! ?? I booked Chinese food this time and I was expecting it because the Japanese food was delicious last time, but unfortunately Chinese food was not so good. There was no. If the interval is too wide, you will feel full and your food will not progress. I will never use Chinese food ２ from the next time. Breakfast is rich and delicious. Bath The open-air bath is comfortable, but I want you to put a good shampoo in the men's bath! The correspondence of the hotel staff was very good as last time.

Although the location is some distance from Yufuin Station, the environment is very comfortable and it is a very Japanese-style accommodation.
There is about an hour of private hot spring bathing time in the evening. This arrangement is too friendly for people who don’t like public hot spring bathing!
The owner and proprietress of the B&B are also very kind. They will explain all the facilities and arrangements clearly when checking in, and will also give us a printed hand-drawn map of the surrounding restaurants for our reference. They are really considerate and warm. He will also take us on a short tour of the shared areas of the B&B. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to use their tea room this time.
I really like the small message book in the room. It contains small sharings and feelings written by different guests who have stayed here before. I quietly looked at the stories they wrote. Although I couldn't understand some of them, it was really warm!

The large open-air bath overlooking Mt. Yufu has the best atmosphere. It's warm, so you can soak in it leisurely. For men, there is already a １ or a small open-air bath that is hot and can be used by the bridge. I stayed in the main building. It is a building with a considerable age, and although it is undeniably old, the toilet has been renovated and cleaned well. The dishes were basic plans, so there were no high-class ingredients, but I was satisfied with the contents that I could feel politeness. Finally, the response of the employees was very good and made the impression of this inn very good.

GGuest UserIt was an excellent experience in every aspect. Nothing beats a relaxing private onsen after each day out and the staff was so nice too. For what we got it was a very good price. The small houses are each unique and no matter which one you get, it'll look and feel nice. Beware that some of them are Futon only though.
There is no English translation for anything, but everything went smoothly with our small Japanese skills and Google Translate (the last of which could probably suffice by itself, especially as the staff is eager to throw in some English and Google Translate by themselves).
Thank you very much, we'll come again if we come to the Beppu area again.

Oonlywinxit's a small homey inn, amazing for cat lovers. you get to spend 1h in a room full of super friendly cats. their homemade breakfast and dinner is delicious and very filling - you even get to eat next to another room of cats!
the only downside is the location, which is 1 short train station (comes every 40mins) away from beppu station. it's a bit in the residential area, and the walk from higashibeppu station can get a bit quiet and dark, but overall still a great place to stay!

The hotel had a no-shoe policy, and they maintained it sparkly clean. The outdoor onsen was an infinite-pool onsen that was facing the ocean, which was mesmerizing. The breakfast buffet spread catered to my every-so-picky taste buds, and the restaurant was overlooking the sunrise. Other aspects of my stay that I greatly valued was the good quality of skincare products given and the incredible service. If I had to make one complaint, that would be the slight inconvenience of getting to-and-fro the hotel by bus on public holiday (taxi to the JR station is still affordable - about 850¥). If you drive, it would be amazing.

Yyuka1256We used a train view room for 2 nights on family trips. I usually choose a hotel with a lot of word of mouth ＆ high evaluation, so I met the day with anxiety about the word of mouth of Matsubaya. It may have been low expectations, but as a result, it was all a nice inn that was more than expected, so I will write word of mouth for the first time in my life. I hope it will be a reference for anyone. First of all, I told him that I was a son of a train lover, and the lady gave me a very polite reply to the time of the train and the way to see it. The train view room looked in front of the window, and the children looked happy with the Shoji every time they heard it. There is a word of mouth that the freight train is noisy at night, and the sound is certainly good, but it was not so noisy that the children who were sleeping woke up. I really wanted to show you if I woke up because I was looking forward to the cargo in the middle of the night. SL was also very satisfied. The bath is a bit narrow as there was in other people's word of mouth. But in the morning, light came in from a lot of windows and it was a very bright and pleasant bath. The dryer was weak, but I had no problem with it because my hair was short... I stayed for two nights, but I had a completely different menu in the morning and night and enjoyed it. It was not a room meal, but I was able to relax in the tatami mats large hall. I was happy because this is a buffet hotel and there are always the same things even if I stay for 2 nights. All were very delicious! I was glad to have changed the menu a little for a 3 year old child. I didn't think I could eat ice shaving in winter, so I was impressed by the deliciousness of the child and the master. It was the best as an iron inn, and the room, the bath and the rice were very satisfied with everything. The personality of the inn was very warm and friendly. I asked you to build a rental bath, so I would like to go to stay again if I complete it.

CCHCheong173This hotel is about 10-15 mins walking from the JR Beppu station. It is easy to find as you just walk towards the seaside until you see the Beppu Tower beside a main road, the hotel is behind it. There is a 7-11 beside the tower, and a bus stop in front of the tower, so is quite convenient. If you take the bus to visit the 7 Beppu Hells starting from the JR station and follow the sequence, i.e. Chinoike and Tatsumaki Jigokus as the last two hells, and you take the bus towards the Beppu station, you can stop directly in front of the tower, this complete a full circle of your Beppu Hell tour. I booked a seaview Japanese room and the view is great. The room is also spacious for Japanese ryokan standard. There is some minor renovation and furniture replacement done, so the room is a mixture of new and worn. There are two onsen baths in this hotel: one at the top floor, an open air onsen bath and one at third floor, which is an indoor onsen bath. The dinner and breakfast are both average though. Overall, I am quite happy with my stay here.

TTaka-S-10I stayed in a Japanese room in the earth building with three families with four years old children. Until I went, I was worried because there were many bad evaluations about the oldness of cooking, customer service and facilities in the kuchikomi, but it was a very good inn when I actually went. I think you can see my past reviews, but I realize that it is tough for evaluation. It was an inn that I was very satisfied and wanted to give a high evaluation without regret. ＜ Good point ＞ The bath is the best than anything. The 6 floor has a good view, but the bath itself is normal and there is no special point to note. Recommended is the bath on the 1 floor. Very large open-air bath is worth it alone. There was also a bath that bubbled like a hot water or a Jacuzzi, and the child was very happy. The dishes were above average. Of course, there are many inns that make better dishes, but there is no misfortune like the bad review. First of all, is the dish that has been devised half and the dish that is a little disappointing half? I think it is higher than the average if I think about the price. The sashimi criticized by multiple kuchikomi was also covered with film so that the timing of the meal was perfect at 々. The dining room and corridor were renewed and very bright and modern. The room was old, but it was cleanly maintained and there was no inconvenience. The service was very good for most staff. Especially the elderly female staff were very friendly, polite and nice. The room was a Japanese room with a main 12 tatami mats and a large enough size with a plus front room. Above all, it was an outstanding view of Beppu city and Beppu Bay. There is also a review of another person, but even if you ask questions that you don't know, you can read them because they are written on paper. Especially, there was a time margin, not the situation where the next person was waiting and crowded, but it was a pretty cold response. Other than this, it was generally warm and comfortable. In the unrenewed part, the oldness of the facility was visible. The corridor to the hot spring on the first floor and the back side of the building visible from the window. However, it is not dirty or uncomfortable just saying old. It was a little troublesome that there were few towels. Bath towels and hand towels are one piece per person. Is this it? I thought it was a very good inn overall. I think the bad reviews of the past are being properly viewed and improved. Or is it a harassment from the same business? (I didn't think it was particularly problematic this time) I recommend it with confidence.

BBreadThe hotel is very close to Beppu Station, about a 5-minute walk away, but check-in is a bit troublesome. I don't think I need to confirm with the hotel beforehand. The hotel will send me the check-in voucher code again, so I have to wait on the street in the cold weather. Fortunately, I contacted trip.com and the staff responded immediately, but it took me 20-30 minutes to get into the hotel. It was a very bad experience😢😢😢😢
