I grew up in the Bay Area and travel back home often, and have stayed in many places in the Emeryville area but this will from now on be my go to hotel. The stuff from the moment I walked in the door was the most excellent customer service I have experienced in many years of traveling. The rooms were clean and breakfast was wonderful. The pool was clean and easy to access. Parking was plentiful. Excellent experience.

Great location for visiting our relatives. Front desk staff was helpful, and we appreciated that they had extra towels and toilet paper behind the front desk so that we wouldn’t have to wait for someone to deliver this to our room. Beds in our 7th floor room was surprisingly firm. Most hotels have worn soft beds. Bathroom is well designed considering it’s a small space. Bright lights and white walls with a modern shower reminds me of a deluxe cruise ship bathroom. Mini microwave in the room is a nice plus because the Trader Jo’s is right across the street. Free parking is a definite plus. And lobby area feels like a mini living room. At night, you need your hotel key to walk through the front entrance sliding doors as well as tap key to access elevator — great double security feature which I appreciated! And housekeeping staff were genuinely helpful and friendly.

I’m a local, but it’s so nice to getaway for a quick staycation and Hyatt Place Emeryville is perfect. It’s close to shopping, restaurants and the movies and the staff are delightful and accommodating.

The hotel is very new, the decoration and facilities are well designed, and the services are in place. There is a spacious and bright public area on the second floor where you can drink tea and coffee for free, which is suitable for simple business meetings. It is walking distance from BART station, Amtrak train station, and Chinatown, which is very convenient. The only thing that needs to be considered is the surrounding safety issues. Because it is located in the city center and the city hall is right outside the window. There are many homeless people, so try to go out as little as possible at night.

The hotel decoration and facilities are very new. The front office service staff have a very good attitude. They will take the initiative to say hello to the guests no matter when they come in or out, making them feel at home. At the same time, I also hope that the hotel will strengthen training and management and get better and better in the future. The air conditioner is unified and cooled. I didn't tell you in advance. The temperature is a bit low when you sleep at night and you will feel a bit cold.

Hotel is easy to find near major intersection and close to airport. Came in very late and it was about a 20 minute drive from the airport to the hotel. I just wanted to comment that the moderately priced hotel has an unexpected add on. I did not feel comfortable driving around the area to try to find a parking space and there is no parking garage so the Valet parking was $50 per day. (OUCH) But i guess this is common in the area according to the front desk. Hotel is remodeled and all accommodation's were nice. Newer fixtures in the room and the bed was comfortable. Internet was fast and the TV was an appropriate size. The shower took about 10 minutes to warm up , but I was on the top floor. Breakfast was the standard Hampton b-fast which was warm and a decent selection of products such as cereal and hot oatmeal, eggs and bacon. Check out was easy and the valet parking was a phone call and about a 10 minute wait, so plan accordingly when leaving as there might be a short wait. Leaving the hotel and getting back on the freeway was quick and easy....

We chose this hotel because of the location for getting to the trolley, a Hop-on Hop-off tour stop, the local bus system, and the nearby BART system. For this it did not disappoint. The price is reasonable, and the hotel was very clean, and the staff was very friendly. From this, I digress. The noise level during the nights, was that a very loud level. All from external. Sirens, music, loud cars and trucks going by, garbage trucks in the middle of the night, quite a bit of yelling, and the like. Normal ear plugs did not help. If you stay here, you will need some heavy duty ear plugs. We get up earlier and the hotel lobby coffee was not ready ever before 7:00 a.m. there is coffee in the room, however if you need real creamer, you'll be out of luck until 7:00 approximately. Not a terrible review, just want people to be aware.

I stayed 3 nights in a female room, beds in a capsule style, a spacious and quiet room, a big locker, and it covered my bag, common bag and jacket. In every floor they have a lounge with TV, microwave, freezer, coffee and tea. The location is excellent, close to the market, public transport and tourist points at 20 minutes walk. I love and recommend!

GGuest UserThe property i manage had damage as a result of the Atmospheric river on last Tuesday and a water pipe was broken by a fallen tree. Despite my best efforts the damage had still not been fixed on Sunday and a tenant asked if they could be put up at a hotel. I gave them two choices one of which was Holiday Inn. The tenant called the one on University Avenue in Berkeley and was told that there was a three day stay minimum. They were also quoted a rate 0f $209 a night. When I called I was told $169 a night and $159 a night with AAA discount and no minimums. I gave the girl my credit card and she swiped it and it was approved. All she told me to do was to give the tenants my AAA card number so I could get the discount when they checked in. My tenants went to the hotel and were told that there was no reservation either under their name or mine. I gave them the confirmation number given me by the girl who answered the phone. They found the reservation. Then they were told that they would have to give them their credit card so they could run it and pay for the reservation in advance of checking out ”just in case.” They were told if they wanted to use my credit card I would have to come down there that night, not the next morning, and have him swipe my card and if I did not come, he was going to kick the tenants out. Thus, I had to get out of bed at 10:30 at night and go to Berkeley. When I get there he tells me that he is going to charge my card that night for the two night stay. I told him I had already been charged and he said that he had canceled the charge because I did not accompany the tenants at checkin. Neither of us were told that I had to accompany them and being a business traveler I know that not to be true. When he gave me the receipt, he had changed the terms because I got new terms when he canceled the previous reservation and they had had an increase in demand. (The parking lot was only half full). When I asked for a copy of the receipt, which I was entitled too since he was charging me to check out before I even checked in, he refused to give it to me, telling me to ”take a picture.” I will never use this hotel again.

李李Very old American style, the rooms are clean and tidy. Because of the old style, the facilities in the room are different from the modern ones. The room size, bed and bathroom are smaller. Breakfast is an ordinary American breakfast, a variety of bread jams and coffee and juice, very convenient. It would be better if the price could be cheaper. The key is to be too close to the University of California, Berkeley, to go to school to work or visit relatives should be a good choice.

GGuest UserThis place is beautiful located right on the water on the other side of the San Francisco bay. Not only is there a beautiful view of the city. But you can also see the Bay bridge and the Golden gate bridge very clearly. The hotel itself has been updated It was very clean, our room was comfortable and it is affordable. I would recommend a room with a view of the bay. There is a great aquatic park that the hotel is connected to which makes for beautiful walks and gorgeous sunsets I would definitely recommend a stay here.

PPeter_from_caliIt was my first time staying in this hotel and I was very happy with my stay. The room are large with all the amenities like a mini fridge, microwave, and a bathrobe. My stay came with a complimentary cup of freshly brewed coffee in the morning. The rooms were newly renovated and it was very quite at night. The hotel has an in-house cafe that serves very good lattes and pastries. The hotel was also centrally located and it's a short walk to the CAL campus and also a few blocks from the downtown Berkeley Bart (Train) station. The highlight of the stay was that the hotel was next to cheeseboard, which is the best place to get pizzas and cheese. The front desk agent was also very helpful and gave me tips about things to do in Berkeley. I would definitely come back and stay at Sens Hotel again.

GGuest UserI've stayed at a lot of budget hotels in my day, so I'm used to being ignored, but I was pleasantly surprised at the service here. The manager saw we had small children and went out of his way to move us to a bigger room at no charge. He even offered to help with our luggage, which was a first! Cleaning staff were similarly kind and friendly. It is still a budget hotel, so don't expect the Ritz, but the rooms are clean and have been updated/painted recently, the AC and wifi work great, and it's a safe and convenient location. Plus you can't beat the price. I've never written a hotel review before, but I genuinely want this place to succeed. Good luck guys, and thanks for the great stay!

KKellyLSSmall motel in downtown Berkeley, worked great for quick college tour. Room was clean and tidy and had an upgraded, tile and glass shower. Plenty of towels. It was just my son & I and we had a 2 bedroom on the 2nd floor. Note that for a family of 4, it might feel pretty tight for space -- not a lot of room to walk, between the bed and door, or other bed and the closet. However, for the 2 of us, it was just right. It's an urban area w/ traffic, but in general we weren't bothered by outside or road noises. Appreciated the bathroom having a small window that opened! Didn't hear any noises from neighboring rooms, which is always a plus. In the early evening we walked over to the Trader Joe's for snacks, which is basically across the street. Felt safe and wish we had more time to explore the area.

GGuest UserWe stayed at this hotel at what must have been their busiest weekend ever due to UC Berkeley’s alumni/parents weekend. The hotel was packed but service was great. One standout moment was when we found out last minute we needed a cot in our room. At 10pm or so the night manager Izzy (I believe that was his name) was on hand to not only field every request for towels from multiple guests and deliver them himself but also deliver the cot to us. The big take away is that the manager did great but it seems like the higher ups really should have scheduled more people to assist on a night that was obviously packed at the hotel. But all in all great hotel

DDONGHONGThe breakfast is very simple and fixed. There is hot water to play at any time. The room is very small and there is no place for an extra bed. The hotel location is OK. There is a large supermarket not far from the supermarket. The supermarket has more fruits and food. It is a 20-minute walk from Berkeley. The surrounding area is quiet. There is a parking lot in the yard, parking is convenient, and in general it is cost-effective.
