Gorki Apartments

Highly recommend!! Perfect location, spacious&clean room, and great service! Ill visit again!!

My husband and I were exploring Berlin for the first time, and found our "Categorki 3B" unit very pleasant. Nice seating good clothing storage, plentiful bathroom storage, lovely up to date space. Suggest additional lighting options for seating area and bathroom. Appreciated the heated floors in the bathroom given the chilly December weather. Coffee and bottled water were available free of charge in the room (though we had no creamer). We chose a room in the back part of the building, overlooking a pretty interior courtyard, and it was perfectly quiet. As mentioned elsewhere, within a half-block of tram (M1 or M8) and subway stops (U8 line), just 2 stops from Alexanderplatz, anchoring the east end of Unter den Linden. Lots of cafes, restaurants in the immediate vicinity.

We stayed in the Lange berg apartment. The positives were the lovely, helpful staff, the location, the huge extremely comfortable bed, the great shower, the well fitted kitchen and the heating. The apartment was quiet considering it was in such a busy location and super clean. The building was beautiful and it was great to have an elevator. Our only slight issue, which wasn't really too much of a problem, was that if one of us required to be in the huge bathroom with the door locked, the other was stuck in the bedroom, unable to go out. A proper door on the toilet cubicle instead of a glass wall and glass door would have been better for privacy and allowed whoever wasn't in the toilet to walk past. Hard to explain unless you've seen the place but essentially you have to go through the bathroom to get into the bedroom. Someone had reviewed this room saying that there was a door from the bedroom to a staircase that they were unable to lock. We tried it and found it was self locking, i.e. could only be opened from inside. It must be some kind of fire escape and wasn't a problem at all. I would definitely stay here again but would maybe choose an apartment with a different layout. Overall it was a great experience and a very comfortable stay in a very nice, lively area of Berlin, with the tram and U Bahn right outside the door and with very good bars and restaurants below and close by.
