This super old but super wonderful hotel is right in the heart of Bern old town, and is such a great place to stay. I traveled solo and easily found my way there from the main train station. The room was sparkling clean and at the back of the building so it was quiet. The window opens so you can enjoy the fresh air and tinkling bells of the Zytglogge (clock tower). The breakfast was plenty and the bed was super comfortable.

Super Lage direkt im Stadtzentrum (an schönen Sommerabenden vielleicht etwas laut, aber tolles Ambiente), funktionelle und saubere Zimmer, reichhaltiges Frühstück. Ich habe meine Brille im Hotelzimmer vergessen und das Personal war sehr hilfsbereit bei der Suche. Vielen Dank!

Great location in the centre of the old town of Bern. The food was very good and the staff really friendly. The rooms are clean and well maintained Special: they have a card for pillows :) (you can choose between 6 different pillows) I will certainly come back with my family. Thank you

The location is great! (center of the old town in Bern). You receive inforrmation before you arrive that you have a free tram and bus card and which to take t arrive to the hotel ad indications were perfect. Although the block has many bars and restaurants there was not any noise inside. The breakfast was very good and the room very nice Thank you

Was staying during New Year's Eve. At first I thought it would be noisy but chose a quiet room. The room was very clean and felt warm and welcoming. Finding a room was good. Quiet at breakfast. Good enough for breakfast. In conclusion, I was surprised that the rooms in the old town hotel would have such good rooms with four to five star standards. I'm glad I stayed here and will definitely come back to stay again. Recommended for Everyone.

This is about our 15th stay at the GoldenerSchlussel over the past 18 years. The location makes it easy to get around Bern and get all that you need. The breakfasts offer a traditional Swiss variety of eggs, breads, cereals, fruit, meats, cheeses and more. The bus passes which come with your room, make Bern easy to see. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We like to stay on the back side which is quiet. We will stay again soon.

Very friendly staff. Very clean. Price OK. Location excellent. Unfortunately, the single rooms are no longer suitable. The single bed was too small even for a narrow person like me. The whole room was tiny and on a level from the year 2000. However, upon request there was an iron and ironing board. If you book here without having too many expectations when it comes to comfort, you won't go wrong.
