#sanjayhotelreviewalert Crystal Crown #hotelcrystalcrown Bhubaneswar, India Stayed here from Sept 26 to Sept 29, 2023, Room No 406. The positives: 1) It is an expansive place with large rooms, large banquet halls, a large lawn area, and a large dining room. 2) Located in the premium Patia area. There is a good deal of hustle and bustle around. 3) Cleanliness in the rooms. There is a pretty large king-sized bed. Sparkling sheets. A thoughtful blurring of half of the window panes overlooking a streetside view. Adequate charging plug points. Nicely working AC and wifi. 4) An equally good aqua area. The bathroom is separated by a full-sized door, thereby helping avoid water spillage outside. Pressure pumped full blast showers. 5) A street food area outside the hotel premises, but owned by the property itself. Around six stalls selling quality food at affordable rates - chaat and dosa counter, Chinese food counter, Soft drinks counter, Frankies, Pizzas, Burgers, Brownies, etc. A must-visit. 6) The FOM Sunil Kumar Acharya was extremely courteous and a pleasure to converse with. The negatives: 1) Average breakfast. Basic Idli dosas, cornflakes, cut fruits, and bakery items. The Gulab Jamuns are pedestrian. The Rasgullas were swell but offered only for one day. An addition of kala chana gravy or Cholar dal was the only saving grace. 2) The a-la-carte food is a tad costly. Surprisingly, they do not have any special menu for in-house guests - an oddity. 3) The pillows are way too lumpy for comfort. No other quality of pillows available on request - they seem to source the same quality from a single supplier presumably. 4) Neither the GM nor the Head Chef were available despite a specific request. The Conclusion: A Maybe for the next time.
