Calypso Hotel Blackpool Reviews

The quality of this hotel was not great, but all we wanted was somewhere to sleep while we were in Blackpool so it served its purpose, and for the valid it was perfect. Be aware that although the hotel says there is WiFi, it is only on the lobby and doesn't reach the rooms. We also didn't have a remote for the TV and it wouldn't work without, although we asked for one multiple times, the staff were unable to find one that worked for our TV. The walls are very thin and you hear every noise from around the hotel. Luckily (also unfortunately) our room was the furthest away possible. The water pressure on the shower was amazing. The hotel water on the tap comes out boiling hot straight away. Overall, the quality of the hotel wasn't great, but for the price it was everything we needed

Check-in was at 11:30 pm, it was a Saturday night, and there was a party next to the check-in counter. There was a TV to watch the waves, and there were customers playing pool. It was very lively. The staff said that they didn’t have my reservation information, which bothered me for a long time. He video chatted with the boss before he arranged for us to check in. When we went upstairs, he couldn’t find our room. The staff said that he didn’t even know which way the room was facing... and the rooms were small. Because it was a collusion among several independent buildings, we only stayed one night and left early the next morning, so it didn’t matter. There was garbage tissue next to the bed...

The service staff is very warm and friendly, and the location is very convenient to the Winter Gardens and Blackpool Tower. The staff gave me the door key, and I had to open the hotel door myself when I came back late. It's just that the hotel room is relatively small, the corridor is narrow, the sound insulation is not very good, and the cleanliness of the room is slightly insufficient. But for such a cheap price, it is convenient and has enough services, so I am satisfied.

Good service. If you have business in that area, it's convenient to find food and go to the beach.

The room is small, but most of the hotels in Blackpool are like this, the location is very good, 3 minutes walk from the Winter Garden, there are many restaurants around

Hotel is quite basic and dated, needs modernising throughout, poor finish to the room and bathroom, bed was comfy though, bed seemed quite new, poor breakfast, good location and near to where we wanted to be. staff were friendly and attentive

Absolutely don't stay here !disgrace of a place ,disgusting room not cleaned properly prior to stay ,no hot water ,cold room heating not on ,trickle of water coming from shower head just told me it thats the way it is cause no water pressure! Terrible attitude from so called management he was .not interested in refunding my cost ,owners just take your money and not bothered, do not have a clue how to run a guesthouse should be barred from hospitality business.

Town centre hotel, friendly service and delicious Indian restaurant on site. Wasn't expecting much for our stay in Blackpool but was quite surprised to find good atmosphere, ensuite bathrooms and crisp clean sheets and towels. Much better than lot of Blackpool hotels visited so far. Indian restaurant was nice with 20% off for resident guest🤤

Total dump of a place...unfriendly staff...reception is right in the main door way to the bar no room to move...rooms are Very outdated and not the cleanest...the place needs knocked down and remodeling

Brilliant trip away with the kids and family Could have stayed another week but ran out of time We willl endure that next time we plan and get a lot more things crammed in to our stay and would advise anyone to go stay

Very poor ......I would never stay here again .Hotel is in ill repair ...shabby and dirty ..first impression was to turn away but because of other circumstances we decided to stay. . reception filthy ..bar lounge shabby .tables dirty ....stairs and bannister sticky dirty and stairs dusty need cleaning .room small. Windies filthy door stain handles black. Bathroom was nice and clean with lovely shower. Bedroom ceilings all stained skirting thick with dust. Basically needs shutting and a refurb...Indian restaurant built inside so obviously every room bedrooms etc smelt of curry. The breakfast was nice well presented .The waiter manager etc were lovely friendly people .sadly I will not stay here again .
