Novotel Blois Centre Val de Loire

A little distance from the sights, supermarkets and the center, although the straight line is more than one kilometer, but the slope or many stairs. There is limited parking space in the parking lot, so it is good to stop driving. It may also be the reason for catching up with public holidays.

We arrive at sunset and leave at dawn. My daughter and I have a balcony suite on the beachfront. She is happy to be able to stay outside and smoke without having to walk on the street. I have the opportunity to take a walk, watch the butcher and the sunrise! The sailor’s breakfast and my coffee with organic soy milk are very good. Our own organic eggs are also very good, making us feel at home! The girls in the reception and restaurant are very beautiful and very efficient!
Ibis Styles Blois Centre Gare

We stayed at this hotel from 12 to 15 MAY 2022. We have stayed at Ibis Styles hotels before and we like that they have better decoration and facilities than other Ibis. Everything was ok... Location, parking, breakfast, facilities, room with big window... But there was one problem... On 13MAY we went to explore some Loire Castles. When we went back to hotel, my partner noticed that his Chanel perfume was missing from the bathroom. In hotels, you leave toiletries in the bathroom and you feel safe about them. But the perfume dissapeared. - Inmediately we went to the Front Desk, where we told the girl in the Front Desk about the situation. She said they will make an investigation. Next morning, we asked a guy with glasses in the Front Desk about it, and he said they knew who has stole the perfume. It seems the day before a person from the outsourced cleaning services was fired, and using his words ”that was a bad person, so we thinks this person took it. We have contacted the person so it can return it”. Next morning it was check-out time and nobody knows anything. They said they were going to talk to their manager, Mrs Chartier, to see what can be done and for further research. We were contacted by email 2 days after that, when we were in Paris just about to leave France, where the manager said that in France you have to report this to the police.- So we did not have any time left to open our complaint with the police, as we were traveling to Spain next morning. When we came back from El Salvador we then realized that some souvenirs we purchased in Disneyland Paris were also stolen from the hotel. I wrote to the Accor Customer service corporate office and they said they were going to research and they responded today that they contacted Mrs, Chartier, the General Manager of this hotel, and she said that an internal search was conducted and no suspicious entry or breaking in the room was detected, and with no proof of the theft, the hotel cannot be responsible and they invited me to contact the local police to follow up. I am back in El Salvador. I will definitely not contact local police. I dont speak French and it was over a month ago. I am not looking for any money or compensation from the hotel. This was not a break-in from outside. This was someone from the cleaning service you outsource for that hotel that made the theft. Several of your employees at the hotel said that they thought that a person from the cleaning services, which was not a good person and was fired that same day from the cleaning company may have done it and that they have contacted this person to return the stolen goods. I understand their policy, but as a customer and as travel industry professional that sends a lot of customers to the Ibis franchise in France, we travelers lose the sense of security to stay at one of the Ibis properties, and that after we left, then suddenly nobody knows anything, specially the hotel manager, who was informed about the situatio
First Inn Hotel Blois

Blois is a good place to be to see the chateaux of the Loire, central, and with good roads to get around. That's where it ends with the First Hotel. Don't be fooled by the sumptuous looking sofa on the picture of the lobby - it is painted onto the wall. If you book a twin room, make sure you are on good terms with the person you are sharing with. The very narrow single beds in a twin room are very close together and the shower in our room (”private bathroom”) had one panel of the door screen missing. The other two panels were also see-through although not intended and it was not until we had been there for a couple of days that we realised one panel had been removed or at least not replaced. The blue decor was only matched by the tasteless floor covering, a linoleum intended to look like a carpet. The toilet had no lock on the door and we had to stuff toilet paper into the vent in the bedroom window as a howling gale was blowing through it and there was no way to close it. The room did have the option for a third bed - a pull out at the foot of the two singles. Had we been three and not two this would have taken up all the floor space in the sleeping area. However, the icing on the cake was the full length mirror which was behind the ”wardrobe” meaning that once clothes were hanging on it the mirror was hidden. Above this were two tiny shelves, wide enough for socks and pants folded in half.
Beelodge Hotel Blois Centre

This hotel is very new and the area around it is still under construction, there is nowhere to park on arrival whilst checking in. We had reserved secure parking so had to check in first to get instructions for the parking. Check in was very easy and the receptionist was very friendly & helpful. The room was very comfortable, clean & bright, however the shower riser rail was broken/missing and therefore we were unable to use it unless we held the shower head, not easy to wash your hair with one hand. We had a kettle, 2 coffee sachets & 2 tea bags but no milk or stirring implements. When I asked for milk I was questioned as to why? And no milk offered. understand the French do not drink tea like the English do but if they are supplying a tea bag, surely they realise milk is needed? Breakfast was ok. There was no cereal, just yoghurts, bread, meat, cheeses & scrambled egg? There were teapots, teabags and milk jugs but again, no cold milk? Overall we were slightly disappointed, we usually stay at one of the budget hotels and thought we would treat ourselves to something a little better. I Think we’ll stick with the former as rooms are just as comfortable and choice at breakfast far better, together with full selection of condiments in the room and a working hot shower.
Fleur de Loire

We just returned from a visit to the Loire Valley and it would not have been the same without our spectacular stay at Fleur de Loire. This resort is very much focused on gastronomy (as it is chef owned and includes his incredible restaurant - separate review), but the most important aspect of this hotel is that they live and breathe excellence in hospitality. They are a Relais and Chateaux property and they deserve every bit of that distinction. We got off to a very rough start when we arrived after an overnight flight and the room wasn't ready. Completely understandable as we arrived before check in. We were assured that the room was empty and would be cleaned right away, making it available within the hour. We still cannot figure out what went wrong but needless to say we were still sitting (sleeping!) outside their lobby four hours later. While we cannot blame them for not expecting international guests hours ahead of check in time, however, we cannot imagine how it could take over four hours to get one room cleaned, knowing their guests were waiting. No other guests were waiting so we assumed this would be taken care of quickly, but it was not. At this point, we were a little concerned about how this visit would go but I'm happy to say that everyone else at this hotel went above and beyond to make our stay special. From the valet (who apologized for his colleague not being more helpful), to the friendly bartender and most importantly, their AMAZING concierge, Geraldine! I had communicated with Geraldine several times in advance of our visit and she had arranged some lovely activities for us. By far, the highlight of our entire trip was our day with Jean Baptiste, their ”cycling guy”, who took us on an all day tour of the area with beautiful scenery, tastings at local wineries and inside the forests of the chateaux. One of our best travel days ever! It wasn't just the sights and scenery, Jean Baptiste was the ultimate host (not just a guide, but a host). If you have the time and ability to spend a day with him, you should absolutely do it. Thank you again, Jean Baptiste...we loved our day with you. The food at the hotel is (obviously) spectacular on all fronts. I will submit a separate review for Christophe Hay (incredible, best meal we've ever had) but we ate all our breakfasts and one dinner at Amour Blanc, their other (more casual) restaurant. We enjoyed everything we ate and the maitre d in the mornings was very friendly and a bundle of energy. Do not miss the breakfast - they have everything you can imagine and you will be full for the day! Thanks to everyone who made our stay one we will remember!
