Red Lion Hotel Boise Downtowner

I am disappointed in the fact that I spent 20 plus years in Boise and and the Red Lion has always been an icon of a great place to stay. I checked into my room and discovered damaged drywall, dirty floors, an obnoxioulsy loud fan running and the room was very cold. I went out for the evening to eat dinner and upon my arrival my key card would not work. I went down to the main office and there was no one there to help me so i tried to call the hotel and the phone started rining behind the desk and no one was there to answer. After walking around knocking on doors to find help I found the desk attendant outside taling on her phone. I was able to get back in the room which was still cold and the heat was not working. the switch to control the fan speed was also broken. I went to bed and was woken up at 4 am by the manager knocking on the door across the hall about an issue with the guests across the way. Went back to sleep and then woke up at 8 am by the cleaning staff outside my door talking on a cell phone to someone she was telling she loved etc. Right outside my door! Then she started slaming things around being loud so that i could not sleep. She was telling the person she was working with something about her perole officer etc. I slept horrible and the room was dirty and I will not stay there again. I am dissapointed and upset for the money i wasted when I could have gone somewhere else and slept better for my trip.

The registration clerk was rude and unhelpful. Won’t stay here again.

We picked the hotel for the outdoor pool. It was clean but there were no lounge chairs as pictured and hot tub looked like it has been out of order for some time. Staff was very friendly. Stay was comfortable.

Love this place. They make traveling with your dogs super easy

The Clerk at the front desk was so nice and helpful. The staff in the Dining area could be more helpful and courteous. The doors in the bathroom need replaced and I was unable to take a bath because the shower nob on the tub was broken. I ran out of toilet paper during my stay because they didn’t leave an extra roll.

Hotel is rundown and in need of upgrades. Staff and locals appear to reside at the hotel. Do NOT pay for their daily breakfast. Serving dishes were filthy and food was cold. We thought the hostess was a guest in her pajamas.

Unique: my room had a balcony Unfortunate: the room was so hot and the AC wasn’t great
