Akayet Hotel

Two hours for a sandwich. Most items listed in the menu not available. Staff who lie and tell you the chef is currently making your food, yet 45 mins later still nothing. Trying to give a zero rating, but will have to give at least one by default. The hotel would be ok on a room only basis, just don’t expect to eat.

We stayed in the Akayet Hotel on Saturday night. We were so impressed. The room very spacious and clean. The only problem is they are not type G outlets. They have one two plug power ***** in the room, but not helpful enough if you need to do your hair in the bathroom. However, the food was delicious. I had chicken pasta primavera. It was so delicious and so plentiful that there was enough to save for lunch the next day. Breakfast was also plentiful and delicious. I can't wait to go there again.

Professional service, good food, nice rooms, clean pool, clean environment. Portable football Field. I recommend Akayet hotel to everyone that is visiting Ghana, Northern part of Ghana, to pass by Akayet hotel and experience the great services.

Excellent location in Bolga with a cool drive and amazing collection of rooms for privacy and absolute comfort. Great tongue dripping meals. Clean rooms and lawns with huge parking space that can accommodate big teams. I miss the excellent service and would love to always go back.

Where to start with this stay? Pros- the room was decorated beautifully and we were able to check in early which is always a great thing. Cons – the website was glitchy and I was not able to book a room it – I had to contact them directly. The room mostly had EU plugs with only 2 UK plugs in the room, the hotel was actually filthy (see photos) the carpets had not been hoovered in a long time and smelled musty, the shower was not working and I was told it was because there was no water, this was eventually fixed. The shower was broken and was spraying water to the other side of the room, a light in the bathroom was broken and it was very dark, as the phone was broken we had to use our personal phone to call staff 3 times to send someone to fix it. Breakfast was quite sad. The staff were not professional, after we checked in she called me on my mobile to ask if I could confirm I can afford the room – who does that? Verdict – after all these issues in a one night stay and for such a high price I felt like the manager, who was nowhere to be found as I asked to speak to them. Save your money and peace of mind and stay elsewhere

Incompetent food purchasing has ruined the guest experience at this formerly excellent hotel, unbelievably, at one stage the kitchen had no bread at all, and so could not serve a Club sandwich, and throughout my stay there was never any brown bread, though I continually requested it. The menu is huge, but they are unable to serve about 75% of the dishes, the French onion soup was appallingly bad, brown gloop with undercooked onion dropped into it instead of being made with onion gently cooked until it caramelizes. Breakfast quality was variable, lovely pineapple and fresh pineapple juice the first day, no pineapple the next day, and only watermelon on the third day, only rice crispies and cornflakes, both full of sugar, whereas they used to have muesli before. The wine list is a joke, a vast selection even including about eight different champagnes, none of which were actually stocked, in fact they had hardly any wines, the two white wines were not chilled, so I decide to order a pina colada, but guess what, they had no coconut milk.

1. People who are not guest just lurk around and inside the hotel doing nothing. 2. People playing soccer at midnight with a lot of noise. 3. Faulty showers 4. No latches behind the doors 5. Wardrobes are faulty 6. Stuffy carpets
