Xiangtan Hotels with Free Breakfast

THE place to stay in Shaoshan. I felt like I was at home, tucked into a quiet wooded corner of town. They helped me organize my short stay, drove me around, and cooked up an excellent breakfast. They were great company and my only complaint is that I couldn’t stay longer. (The room was perfect; the pictures speak for themselves.)

The room was very clean, and the air was exceptionally fresh, making for a pleasant morning run. The landlady kindly picked us up from the station, which was very convenient. It's best to drive here, as it's about a 15-minute walk to Chairman Mao's former residence. We found it very pleasant to walk in spring, but for those who don't want to walk, taking a taxi isn't very convenient. The atmosphere in the scenic area is wonderful, and the water is all spring water. Next time I come, I'll definitely go hiking and stay for a few more days.

The air conditioning in the room is very powerful, the room is not cold at all; the hot water is fast, and the rain is not cold at all in winter. Parking is convenient, underground and above-ground parking lots are relatively large. The breakfast is rich and varied. The front desk service is warm and the warmth of home.

This time I was satisfied with the homestay where Chairman Mao lived. I booked it on Ctrip. The owner called in advance to inquire about the arrival time. I took the high-speed rail to Shaoshan South Station and the owner picked me up in person. The room was clean and tidy. I had three meals in the store. I ate Mao's braised pork. The homestay was not far from the scenic spots. The distance was just right. The square memorial hall was not far away. I was satisfied with this trip.

I seldom share my experiences in Chinese hotels. That is a mistake. China’s hotels are among the world’s most comfortable and reasonably priced.  I am now in the home of chairman Mao and staying at the very comfortable Jianguo hotel. After arriving in  Shaoshan  (over 38 years since my last visit), I have been overwhelmed by the friendliness of the local people and the staff at the Jianguo hotel.  In what may be called one of the more politically important destinations in China, I have found open arms and smiles. My American friends can learn something from this. I am clearly not a local but, even during this time of geopolitical tension, I am receiving nothing less than genuine  friendship, no animosity, and this makes me feel optimistic. I hope that we in the United States can learn from the Chinese people’s example. Thank you, everybody at the Jianguo Hotel. including Liu Zheng who personally took me to Chairman Mao’s residence this morning.  He offered to do this while eating dinner in the hotel restaurant last night (please try the 香椿拌豆腐). He introduced me to the park’s director and facilitated everything to make this visit so special. Liu Jingli just treated me to lunch and is driving  me to the train station. This kind of service I’ve never received before in my hundred plus countries and I think that it is important that we share these stories with the outside world. This hospitality, too, is an essential part of China. (I would argue it is even more real than the news stories we receive out of Washington DC.) Chairman Mao’s home will forever echo with not just memories of the past but optimism of a more respectful and inclusive future.

This is one of the best places I have ever stayed from the sound quality and awesome video features in the room, to the friendly staff and awesome location overtop a huge awesome underground mall. I can't stress enough how amazing this place truly is 10 out of 10. I got off the train in Xiangtan not knowing what to expect and because of this amazing hotel I am so happy I did.

The owners of this place are the nicest people ever! Even though we did not ask, they gave us a ride to and from the train station as well as to Chairman Mao's former residence. The location is great, it would not have been a long walk but the ride made our visit even smoother. The hosts gave us Chairman Mao pins for free and made us delicious breakfast for a really cheap price. They truly are such nice people! They don't speak much English but I'm sure you would manage just fine with a translator app. The room was a great fit for us, two couples travelling together, and it had everything we needed. We only stayed for one night since there is not a whole lot to see in this town but we would have loved to stay for longer just because the hosts were so nice. I would definitely recommend this place! 谢谢你们对我们的悉心照顾!

This is probably the cleanest and most upscale hotel in Xiangtan's city center. I had to switch rooms from Huatian in the middle of the night to come here. However, since the rooms were renovated in 2018, there are still issues like dirty windows on the outside and peeling paint from a leaky roof.

酒店不错，交通ok还是很满意的出行体验，This hotel was an excellent experience! The room was clean, well-equipped, and the bed was very comfortable. The front desk staff were friendly and efficient, making check-in and check-out smooth. The location is great, with easy access to transportation and plenty of restaurants nearby. Breakfast was varied and delicious. The environment is quiet and safe, offering great value for money. I’ll definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others!

The location of the hotel is better, the hotel has an underground parking lot and the surrounding environment is very good. Very close to the train station and bus station, breakfast has authentic Xiangxiang rice noodles, there are many varieties, the hotel lobby is luxuriously decorated, the room is clean and tidy, the beds are more comfortable, the young ladies at the front desk of the hotel are warm and professional, it is a very cost-effective hotel, highly recommended, Friends who need to travel or travel can consider it.
