Amazing
XXiedianpinghaoleiThis was the hotel I enjoyed most during my trip to Japan (the other two were also very good). It's a newly renovated hot spring hotel right on the shores of Lake Suwa.
Facilities: The hotel offers a one-night stay with two meals, with breakfast and dinner included in the room rate. There's an indoor onsen on the 6th floor and another terrace onsen with a lake view. They have red and white baths, hence the name ”Red and White.” The restaurant is on the 2nd floor, where we serve breakfast and dinner. The first floor is also spacious and clean, with a welcome glass of sparkling water.
Cleanliness: Every room was spotless, especially the onsen area.
Ambience: Because it's located on the lake, most rooms offer a lake view. Our room was the smallest in the hotel, but it was spacious enough for two people (it could sleep up to four). The lake view is a bit off-center, but you can still see a bit. Just across the street from the hotel is the lake, and hotel guests can take a free boat ride. The boats are rarely crowded, and the scenery is truly beautiful. In August, in addition to the famous Lake Suwa Fireworks Festival, there's also a 10-minute fireworks display every evening, visible from the lakeside.
Service: The service was excellent. Mr. Lee (or Li), a Chinese-speaking staff member in the restaurant on the second floor, was truly wonderful. His detailed explanation of the dinner provided a deeper understanding of the ingredients and cooking methods for each dish. After dinner, we headed up the mountain to watch the sunset (the setting for Lake Itomori in ”Your Name”), and since it wasn't easy to get a taxi down, the hotel provided flashlights for us. They also helped us get a taxi the next morning. Overall, this is a hot spring hotel with excellent service.
Highly recommended!
GGuest UserHotel is very nice, big hotel we choose the room is annex room and have to walk and find the aisle its quite difficult to find .

GGuest UserIt is purely unexpected to be able to book this old-fashioned Japanese-style hotel on Trip.com. Visiting the city in April is the off-season for tourism, and the price is very cost-effective.
There are relatively few small public transportation in the city. After arriving at JR Shangyu Visit Station at night, I walked for 20 minutes to the hotel. The sign at the door ”small hot spring hotel by the lake” is so handsome. The hotel is run by a 50- or 60-year-old couple and the reception is very thoughtful. The room was unexpectedly clean and tidy, with mottled marks on the furniture and the overall style of the hotel, and I thought there would be no smell of tatami mats in the humid environment by the lake. There is a preparation manual in the room. Although there is no Chinese, the content is relatively simple and can be understood. The first floor is a restaurant, and the next door is a small hot spring. The hot spring water quality is clear and the temperature is suitable.
The convenience store 5 minutes walk from the hotel is unexpectedly closed at 17:00 pm, and the 24-hour convenience store needs to walk for about 15 minutes. Breakfast is not operated in nearby restaurants, so it is best to experience a classic Japanese breakfast at the hotel for breakfast. Dinner is also available here.
The lake view room is facing the lake, bringing a refreshing panoramic view of the lake, while the experience of visiting the lake, the car noise on the lakeside road at night will bring some unpleasantness. Consider it when choosing a room type.
Surroundings: There are several restaurants next door to the hotel for lunch. About 10 minutes walk, there is a comprehensive hotel called katakurakan that can rent electric bicycles. It is a good choice to ride around the lake and the city.
