Super 8 by Wyndham Brooklyn

For what I needed the place was perfect. Guests were a bit noisy so early in the AM but I don't fault the hotel. There was an iron stain on one of the beds in my room which I found hilarious. Overall loved the room. Great place to fall asleep after a great wedding

This was the perfect "home base" base from which to explore the lakes and historic sites of the region. The room and hotel had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxed stay, including mini-fridge and microwave. We are pretty self-sufficient travelers. The fact that there was a grocery store and a bank next door to this property was perfect. The rooms/property were clean ad the staff was knowledgeable and friendly, in an authentic way. Great value for the dollar. The hotel has ample parking space, so when we come back towing our boat, this is where we will stay.

Pleasantly surprised that room included fridge & microwave. Nice new renovation of room with bathroom & vanity sink. Comfortable space in room with double bed. Only drawback was no elevator and dragged luggage upstairs!

As you age it's nice to have the ability when you're on the top floor to get your luggage up to the room. It makes it difficult. I don't like being on the lower floor as it's typically too noisy. I don't like stomping around on the ceiling.

The good: Room was clean and nice. The Bad: Smoking area was by the front door so you had to breathe the stench on your way in and out. The laundry was steps from my room and something seemed to be failing in a washer and echoed down the hallway. Between the gabby smokers and the laundry I had to run the HVAC all night to drown out those other 2 sounds. The worst: The desk clerk when I checked in was charming on the phone to someone with a lengthy issue about a reservation. After the clerk hung up she became a Jekyll and Hyde person and was less than cordial to me. After giving me a couple of magnetic keys for a first floor room near the office I asked if she had a 2nd floor room and she curtly said "no"! After getting my luggage I found neither key would work. Back to Princess Charmless. "Did you have them next to your cell Phone" No, they were in the same pocket as my wallet. "Well your charge card magnetic strips demagnetized them". Really? I'm a seasoned traveler and even keep the key cards IN my wallet without a problem. PC never bothered to explain the breakfast stuff nor said one word of welcoming. The morning clerk was no more congenial that PC. No "how was the room nor thank you or have a nice day". These people are the face of this motel and as such convinced me to never return.

The staff at Super 8 were all so very helpful with pointing us in the right direction and we're all very cheery. I would stay there again, most definitely. Thank you so very much, Brooklyn, Michigan!!

Very close to MIS and Manitou Beach with a Supermarket right next door! Awesome friendly staff who have great recommendations for someone who’s not familiar to this area, super clean hotel with breakfast and good Wi-Fi. Highly recommend!
