The room- The floor probably hadn’t been hoovered in weeks, there was lots of cobwebs, there was a toothpick on the floor next to the bed, there was no blind on the small window where a building could see straight into the shower, not to worry though as I didn’t have a shower because it ran cold. I was aware about the standard of the hotel as I’d read the previous reviews and it was very cheap at £40 for a one night stay (I’m generally not fussy). Thankfully the bed was clean which is non negotiable and I wouldn’t have stayed otherwise but there is no excuse for the absolute lack of basic cleaning!

We arrived quite late at 1AM as we drove 8 hours to get there. When we arrived we checked out the hotel, there was no toilet roll in the bathroom so had to go find our own around the hotel. We didnt use the shower at all but it was dripping ALL night. As we got into bed the pillow was DIRTY as shown in the picture below. It was turned onto the other side it was only until we turned it over when we saw it. The room was cold when we arrived we tried to put the heating on but it made an awful noise so we turned it straight off. The floor didnt look hoovered either. Wasnt a good sleep. I wouldnt recommend this hotel to anyone at all.

Probably the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Booked a sea view but told on arrival there were only 2 rooms with sea view and both were full. Doubt there is a sea view anyway as there is a huge fish plant in front of the hotel. Room was very, very old with cushion flooring coming up in the bathroom, caulking coming up all the way around the tub - didn't want to take a shower. Seedy area of town. Advertised restaurant, etc in the hotel but not open. Very old, dated and not very clean. Also had a sea gull pecking at our window all night. Would never recommend!

Stayed here for 2 nights this week. Location is good, in the centre of Buckie with plenty of free parking nearby. Check in was quick and the receptionist was friendly. Room numbers are a bit confusing- my room was 14, but the sign on the door said 314. It was clean and large enough for one person with limited storage space but enough for 2 nights. Plenty of tea and coffee provided and the bed was comfortable . On the downside, it was very hot even with the window open. There was no shower gel/ shampoo and my shower broke on the second day- there was no one at reception to tell this to so I couldn't use it for the rest of my stay. WiFi was intermittent and the housekeeping during the stay was a bit lacklustre. I had dinner on my first night and the food was good, with reasonable prices. Breakfast the next morning was terrible- £15 for a small, poor quality Full Scottish- the sausages were cheap, the eggs were rubbery and the beans were like bullets! All in all, for £40 a night you can't expect much and it was OK. I've no burning desire to return, but if I need to go back to Buckie, I'd stay again for such a low price.

Stayed here for 2 nights for work reasons my first thoughts when I seen the hotel was now I understand why it was so cheap to book. Firstly the lift was out of order and being told your on the third floor was not a great start. I found the room and opened the door only to find the door wouldn’t open completely as it was hitting the bed. The room was definitely well used over the years and was in need of a good renovation the window frame was rotten there was holes in the walls there was lights in the ceiling with no bulbs the floor going into the bedroom was black with all the use it’s had over the years the shower was like something from the 70s and no hot water. But one thing I can say the food was absolutely amazing really good menu I definitely give 5 out of 5 for the food and the staff.

The hotel is filthy. There is mold growing all over the bathroom, there are holes in the walls, wallpaper peeling, broken closets, and dirty carpeting. There is a disco at night in the bar that we could hear through the walls until 2:30am. We demanded a refund which the owner agreed to and then charged us anyway and refused to honor his agreement. The area is rundown and the picture of the view is not what you get. There are industrial buildings along the waterfront directly in front of the hotel. This place is a dump.

The hotel suffers from the neighbouring fish processing plant. Loud machinery running around the clock and occasional appalling smells to be expected. Also the rooms seem to be last updated during Tacher's regime.
