The room is small, clean, well-equipped, and has a good environment. It's inside the church, and you can tour the cathedral for free. The breakfast tastes good!

A well-appointed hotel in a privileged location within the Cathedral precinct. The staff were helpful with a courteous and friendly disposition. Breakfast was excellent in quantity and quality. We strongly recommend this hotel when visiting Canterbury.

It's clean and tidy. The annex room is on the third floor. There is no elevator. Breakfast is OK. Entrance to the cathedral is free. The service is friendly. You will also get some discount coupons for surrounding restaurants when you check in. It is cost-effective and recommended.

Had a very pleasant time staying here. The hotel is positioned within the walled grounds of Canterbury Cathedral. Views from the room were spectacular as it overlooked the Cathedral. The staff are warm and friendly and were very accommodating, always smiling and helpful. The room was very clean and modern and was equipped with everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom clean and fresh with fluffy towels. Breakfast was also good and the was waitress service. Overall we would recommend this lovely hotel not only for the perfect location to be able to walk into the city centre and for a tour of the Cathedral but also because it is so quiet at night. We always sleep with our window slightly open and because they close the gates at night around the walked grounds we had 2 perfectly quiet night’s sleep. Couldn’t be better and we will return in the future to this hotel without any hesitation.

Just such a lovely place to stay. within the cathedral walls and a stones throw from the Cathedral itself. The Lodge blends in with its ancient surrounding and has a peaceful feeling about the place. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are tasty with a good choice( we booked and went down at 10am so had a sleep in). The Lodge offers a choice of room servicing or not and we decided not to have the service (we are very tidy and low maintenance). We also booked a parking space in the grounds. The guests are able to access the Cathedral free of charge which is a huge bonus. I recommend the 17.30 hrs Evensong service as a lovely 'thing' to experience. There may be cheaper options but in Canterbury it's the only place for me and my partner !

Canterbury Cathedral Lodge is something of a hidden gem nestled in the grounds of the mighty Canterbury Cathedral. We stayed for the night after attending an evening event in the Cathedral (September 2024). The lodge is a bright, modern, spacious, beautiful building, almost Scandinavian in style with its pale oak wood and simple, clean lines. The entrance is via the cathedral’s main gate, walking past the outside of the cathedral into the courtyard garden that leads to the lodge’s reception. We had a room with a wonderful view of the cathedral - room 210 - which had a bay window allowing us great views of the cathedral and the garden. The room was comfortable and had all that you need for an overnight stay. One great advantage of this accommodation, over some other places to stay in Canterbury, is how quiet it was (except when to cathedral bell rang to announce services!). We chose to eat dinner in the lodge, and we’re pleased that we did. The three course set menu with choices for each course was terrific value at just £30. The quality of the food and the standard of the cooking couldn’t be faulted. Breakfast the following morning was equally good. Service was also very good at both meals. All the staff we encountered - in reception, the restaurant and the bar - were extremely polite and helpful. It all helped to add up to a very enjoyable stay and one which I know we’ll repeat.

This is one of the nicest hotels that we have stayed in. The location is superb, within the grounds of Canterbury Cathedral and central to the local shops and restaurants. From the moment we parked the car at the allocated car park and walked in to the hotel, we received a warm and friendly welcome. The staff could not have been more informative or helpful. The hotel room was comfortable and well equipped, with a window seat overlooking the front garden area, with a beautiful view of the Cathedral in the background. The breakfast offered an impressive choice of both cooked and continental options with table service. Our stay was such an enjoyable experience and I would definitely like to revisit the city and stay at this hotel again. Thank you to all of the staff for your care and co-operation.

Spent two nights at this wonderful hotel set within the precincts of the cathedral. Outstanding staff. Delicious breakfast. Booked a private tour of the cathedral with dinner. Wonderful. My daughter and I would highly recommend this unique experience and will certainly return.
