Stayed at the lodge. The most perfect hotel for the UK trip, the environment is very beautiful, the golf course, saw hares and squirrels. The main building is very historic, the lodge is very convenient, and the English breakfast restaurant is beautiful.

Very old with extremely unprofessional staff, some of them even unfriendly. "Tender loving care" is completely lacking. Both outside and in the lodge. The pool is a disaster, you don't have the slightest desire to spend time there.

Lodges in nice wooded setting. Peaceful and despite the trees still had the sun shining thru. Was there at a warm spell no fans or any other cooling devices so lucky we had our own. Also there didn’t seem to be a phone to call reception but otherwise well equipped lodge and plan to stay a bit longer next time to fully enjoy the location and lodge.

This hotel is sooooo nice! We got a lodge and it was clean and beautiful. The staff was so nice and they let us play snooker and enjoy the premises.

The room was spectacular overlooking the beautiful gardens. The reception team were very polite and helpful. The golf course looks amazing although very hilly but well maintained. I agree with some of the comments regarding breakfast, not the best and the serving staff could do with some training from the reception team. The biggest disappointment was the standard of furniture and cleaning in the dining room. It doesn't match the grand reception room.

I was hesitant about booking a holiday here due to the very mixed reviews, however due to its convenient location I decided to go ahead and do so. I gave it 4 stars as it was an overall good stay and I felt 3 was slightly underselling it but still was not happy with everything. Room: We stayed in a deluxe double room which I was happy with. There were 3 of us and we had a VERY large double bed as well as a pull out sofa bed which gave us ample space. There was a small kitchen area and a separate room where the sofa bed and TV were. The door to the toilet did not close properly and often swung open which was not great. The shower was ok but I think a curtain wouldn't have gone amiss to prevent the floor being splashed. There were no bedside tables or lamps which was a bit annoying but the receptionist explained this was an oversight and gave me a lamp from another room. Breakfast: Breakfast was a very mixed experience. The first day was fine, although they wouldn't open the windows due to wasps and it was very hot. There was a cold food area with a (limited) selection of cereals, some thick yogurt, mostly sad looking pain au chocolats and croissants, and bread. The hot buffet included eggs, sausages, bacon, beans, mushrooms, tomatoes and hashbrowns. On the second day the breakfast was very poor: the eggs when we arrived looked horrible and after I told the lady they were almost blueish she removed them and said more would come.. which they did.. 30 minutes later.. The service was terrible from the woman in charge who seemed angry at me at one point for asking if there was any butter.. there wasn't. And although breakfast runs from 8:30-10:30 at around 10 she began trying to set up for lunch and made our breakfast feel very rushed. The third day was a whole other situation where they decided to do it Al Carte which was nice as I got to order a full Broome (full English) and nutella pancakes except the wait was about 40 minutes and they forgot the beans and mushrooms for the full Broome. Despite this though there was a young staff member at breakfast working during her uni summer holiday who was very helpful and accommodating throughout! Service: The man when I checked in was very nice and although there was a bit of a long wait as he sorted out a double booking that had been made for someone else I understood that that couldn't be avoided. On the last day the cleaners did not clean our room leaving us without towels, milk, loo roll or an empty bin which was frustrating, we spoke to the lady at reception and at first she just gave us the stuff we needed but when we realised there was more stuff we hadn't got she brought it up to us and took our bin. She also told us that the housekeeping had said there was a do not disturb sign on our door but that was completely untrue as we actually did not even have a sign. Mostly I found the reception staff very helpful and nice, however we went to try and play snooker on the last night and the night r

The team were beyond accomodating, so helpful for my partner and I getting ready for our wedding day. Though we weren't getting married at the venue ourselves, the team never made us feel less important and they were always happy to help. The rooms were beautifully presented (we stayed in Dixwell and Oxenden), and the only slight downside to be aware of us the lack of lift (in an old building this can be expected) and no air conditioning with only the odd window that can open slightly as most are sealed shut. Aside from this though, a wonderful stay in an absolutely beautiful location.

We booked afternoon tea at broom park. To say we were disappointed was an understatement. The sandwiches were poor three thin fingers each. No more offered. The cakes were mainly shop brought. 4 very small scones which were hard. There was no toilets on the ground floor you had to go down what look like a fire escape stairs to a lower floor. Disappointed and annoyed I went to reception told her our disappointment she spoke to the manager who gave us a full refund. We have some lovely afternoon teas but this definitely was not one of them
