Nice big room. They gave me a balcony room. Front desk staff was a little over the top and asked me a lot of personal questions. I had a friend come by for breakfast and they called an asked if he was staying. I was sleeping and he left hours ago so I thought it was weird. I also declined maid service one day and then someone had come into my room and left towels in the bed so that kinda creeped me out. They didn’t leave enough toilet paper. And why leave it on the bed and not make the bed? $5 euros for a big towel to use which is kinda chintzy to charge your guests for a towel when you’re a spa hotel. Pool was very nice and heated to about 90 degrees so like a warm bath. The pool area was noisy though so it ruined the atmosphere. They should install speaker system with relaxing music to help guests relax more. I didn’t use the spa area as there was no jacuzzi only steam room and sauna. Breakfast was pretty good. Blood orange juice which I loved and the coffee was delicious. Wait staff was friendly and fast serving for the coffee: thanks for my waiter for his cheerful attitude and smile during my stay.

It was a wonderful stay. Pros: * The rooms are very spacious and have beautiful views * Breakfast was good, plenty of options but till 10am on weekdays. And they really start taking away all the food at 10am. * Right in the center of the city, you can walk anywhere * They keep your suitcases after checkout. I asked them if I can come back for them later that day, and they were nice and kept them. Cons *No coffee machine in room. They do have a fridge though. *No iron in room but they do have an ironing room *No parking, but down the street there is free parking, a 8 min walk. I easily found a parking at 10.30pm

The attitude is very enthusiastic and the facilities are four-star standard. It's a bit far from the city center. The key is the meal, which is great. The baked snacks for breakfast are unforgettable. They are not oily or sweet, but they are particularly fragrant. For dinner, I ordered a roast pork knee with plum sauce (a small amount, only half a pork knee, not a large portion like Germany), and I even licked the plate. I ordered a pumpkin leek soup for my mother. She has a bad appetite and feels comfortable after eating it.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Sheraton in Sienna, and my experience was nothing short of excellent. The service provided by the staff was impeccable, from the moment I checked in to the time I checked out. The facilities were top-notch, offering a perfect blend of luxury and comfort. We chose this hotel from many on offer, it was great value for our three night stay in Siena. It is in a great location for all the key places in the city. It is a clean, comfortable and secure hotel that was a great price. There is a very elegant hotel 50 metres away that actually costs 10 times the cost of this hotel. Most probably a lovely hotel but 10 times better? I doubt that. This is recommended by us.

My partner Linda and I spent a week at this lovely hotel. Small, basic no bar but what a wonderful place. Very clean, towels replaced daily good breakfast and great staff, everyone wanting to please, and a lovely little outside terrace if you just wanted to soak up the atmosphere. The real bonus is it's location, all of the central sites of Siena, lots of lovely restaurants all no more than 15 minutes walk away. Taxi services are available just a few steps away and a 10 minutes walk to the bus station if you want to go a bit further afield. Definitely go for a room with a nightime view of the Cathedral. We were lucky to spend three nights at the Hotel Athena on our recent visit to Siena. Our room was comfortably large, nicely furnished, with a very comfortable bed with nice linens. The outdoor terrace and bar opened every evening at 5 (this is contingent on good weather, which we were fortunate to have); it's a lovely place to have a drink and enjoy the lovely view of the countryside and the sunset. Breakfast was included in our rate; the selection of breakfast items was good, with freshly baked pastries, scrambled eggs, a variety of meats, cheeses, and fruits, plus cereal and yoghurt. Guests were expected to make their own coffee from the espresso/coffee machine. The staff was helpful throughout; the receptionists were gracious, the bartender very professional. The historic center of Siena is a fairly easy 15-minute walk from the hotel (prepare for some hills along the way). The nearest restaurants are about 8-10 minutes away by foot; we didn't try the hotel dining room except for breakfast. We'll certainly consider the Hotel Athena again when next we're in Siena; it's convenient to the center of town, and really nicely appointed.

A very warm welcome for two soaking wet cycle tourists greeted us on our arrival at this centrally located hotel. Our bikes were securely parked in the hotel garage and our wet luggage did not cause any alarm. Our room was small (but cheap!) and the heating was on, which was nice. We stayed two nights and had both breakfasts in the dining room - excellent. I can't get on with the Italian taste for sweet things in the morning but the selection of cakes looked amazing. I had cold meats, various cheeses, lovely bread, fruit, yoghurt and a boiled egg (we were cycling after all). The shower was great and the room was cleaned in the morning.

We stayed at the Certosa with a group of friends, and we loved this hotel. It is a unique property, previously being a monastery, with beautiful grounds and pool area. The rooms are spacious, and clean, but not modern luxury. The breakfast is wonderful. The menu on the restaurant is quite progressive and high end, but they also made us dishes that we requested if there was nothing to suit us. I loved the location, being a little outside of Siena, as it provided a nice calm reprieve, and you are right in the hills of Tuscany. I was unsure if it was walkable to Siena, and found that it was an easy 15 minute walk into Siena, that we took each day during daylight. We also had no issues calling cabs, or having cabs drop us off at the hotel in the evening hours, as the roads are too narrow to walk on safely after dark. There are limited hotels with pools in the area, which is why we chose this hotel. But, the location, and overall feel of the hotel were even better than I hoped. Siena was a highlight of the trip to Italy, which included Rome, Florence, Pisa and Cinque Terra. And, if you are going to visit, I would highly recommend staying here. We would go back in a heartbeat.
