We stayed from 27th to 30th August at the Royal Hotel Cardiff,other places were more expensive to stay if you book direct with the hotel you get 10% off.. Breakfast was excellent continental and cooked breakfast teas coffee's juice's all available,,staff were lovely and helpful,great service from the staff,,we had a double room very decent size,very clean and tidy, cleaning staff do a great job,there is a lift to take you to the reception which is on the second floor or you can use the stairs,the royal hotel is right in the city centre a stone's throw away from all shops etc . We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay again when we go back to Cardiff...

The hotel we knew was an old building but that shouldn’t affect the furnishings in the rooms. They were well worn and damaged which just gives it a scruffy feel,we were not expecting high end luxury due to its price point but it could be better.
Also there is absolutely no atmosphere in there no background music etc a really un inviting bar area, which I did nt see one person in there my in tire stay.
Saying that I would stay again if our trip had to be done on a budget, and it is central to every thing going on.

Clean, tidy and staff were very polite and friendly. Unfortunately the bed was uncomfortable. Mattress very soft and every little movement caused the whole mattress/bed to move and disturb the other person.

Good hotel in a great location. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. Mattress was a little firm for my tastes, but that was the only complaint.
