Excellent in all aspects! Would love to go back again

The hotel is near the beach, which is nice. The breakfast was not very varieted and the same every day, but was good. Also a plus is for the beach view room woth balcony

Everything is OK

The room is 80 degrees F (27 C) and the hotel hasn’t turned on the air conditioner on for the season. Opening the windows does little to cool the room and then it is very noisy at night (motorcycles, car horns and dumpsters nearby). The front desk is very friendly and will tell you what you want to hear, but you quickly realize it isn’t true.

The hotel is in a very good location by the sea. You can easily go for a walk nearby and there are some nice restaurants and cafeteria close by. The hotel is clean and the breakfast was good overall. Last but not least, the staff were all friendly and all super helpful always ready to help with anything we needed during our stay.

Lovely hotel, very good service from reception (special thanks for Asia for helping us with information and various bookings!!), good location and good facilities. Rooms are nice and clean. Good housekeeping services. There is a rooftop bar and restaurant which has nice wine for at night and the breakfast bar which is also served there is good, great variety and good coffee.

We were in an apartment associated wit the hotel. It had all the facilities required, and a balcony to front and rear. It was the best facitily we stayed in during our stay. Definitely recommended. The breakfast/Restaurant area was again the best and better than many 5 star hotels. Overall our stay was very good and the staff helpful and accommodating. If this hotel had a pool it would be superb. There is an area to the rear which if a pool was put in, would probably make it 5 star. Ot even if there was a relaxing lounger area it would catapult it to a higher level.

I had a good 5 night stay at Plaza Hotel. It’s a decent Hotel. The room on the first floor had a huge balcony overlooking the restaurant below with sea views. Air Con was excellent (valuable in August). Room was good size, lots of storage and a very good shower. Serviced every day. Breakfast was ok: good range of cold items and some eggs and bacon. Served in the Rooftop Restaurant with excellent views. Staff were a little aloof but I found that everywhere in Sicily. Reception was very good and efficient, and the staff always friendly. It is on a main road so not very quiet, but if you’re out and about during the day and evenings it wasn’t a problem. It’s about half an hours walk from the railway/bus station, a little more to the City centre. Threes a railway station about 10 mins walk away which is good for heading North although fast trains to Catania and Taormina don’t stop there. Good range of restaurants nearby in the little fishing quay opposite or just up the road, and there is a on site restaurant I didn’t use. An hotel to base yourself from, rather than to enjoy the facilities of the hotel I felt, so suited me very well. Not really the place to find a quiet corner and read a book all day.

I had high expectations of the plaza hotel , Catania . Classed a 4* . The rooms are lovely , nice decor , spacious enough with mini bar . Bit shabby in the bathroom . Rooftop bar is stunning but very highly priced for what it is so one to avoid I’m afraid if you don’t want to break the bank ! Breakfast is nice , served in the rooftop bar area , lots to choose from with decent staff who try to help with limited English spoke . Reception area has musty smell , needs upgrading to match rest of hotel . Reception staff speak decent English but not too knowledgeable. Lack of public buses here so had to use the expensive taxis service which the hotel will arrange for you . Expect to pay between 15/19 euros to the central area wher you will find the Douna catherdal piazza with its many bars and restaurants and shops . Taxi rank beside side of Douna for return to your hotel . I fell in love with Catania but would stay at a more central location next time as the constant taxi fares did add up to an extra expense . Across the road from the plaza is a lovely beach bar with lovely sea views and the staff here are great so worth a visit . Supermarket just a few yards from hotel. No beach as stated , but you can hire a bed at the beach restaurant for about 10euro .

An ok hotel I would not rate 4*. No tea or coffee facilities in the room. No welcome book with information for room service etc. Lack of plugs near mirror. Reception staff & restaurant staff are very good & helpful. This hotel.is a good 30 min walk from main centre. 25 mins to main train station.

I've stayed 3 times at this hotel, the rooms are a good size, clean and the staff are very friendly and willing to help with any of your travel needs. I always request a sea view room as the view is great. Location is good I always go to the lido across the road it is a little far from the main square but walkable. I highly recommend The Plaza Hotel.
