My wife and I often stay in Majnu ka Tilla at Wongden House whenever we visit Delhi, as we've generally had pleasant experiences in the past. However, during this visit, we encountered a few issues that left us disappointed. Firstly, when some of our friends joined us and checked into their room, they found that the air conditioning wasn’t working. It was an especially hot day, so they asked the receptionist if they could switch to a room with a functional AC. Unfortunately, the receptionist responded quite rudely, saying it wasn’t her concern and that her shift was over, directing them to speak to the security guard instead. This was unexpected and unprofessional behavior. Secondly, another friend of ours, who’s from Delhi, came to visit us, and it got late. We asked the same receptionist if there was an available room for him to stay, and again, her response was unfriendly. She bluntly said there were no rooms, without any further explanation. This attitude didn’t make us feel welcome. The room itself was just okay but could definitely use more thorough cleaning, and there was an unpleasant smell coming from the window. Given these issues, we felt the price was quite high for what we received. Overall, this experience was disappointing, and we hope Wongden House improves its customer service and room upkeep in the future.
