This apartment is a joke!
Booked this apartment for 6 nights, when I arrived the apartment, I wasn’t able to get the keys as the owner didn’t stay there nor he got any key box like other apartments have. Then emailed them, got the only reply (which I’ll explain why it’s “only”) their representative is on the way, I had to wait for an hour right outside the apt until he arrived. When the guy arrived he couldn’t speak any English AT ALL, all we can communicate was by google translate. Anyway I was told that I need to download an app “Travelio” in order to pay the deposit by credit card and check in, however that app doesn’t let me to register as the app doesn’t support phone number outside S.E. Asia countries and I didn’t have a local IND phone number… thus the guy could only charge me IND30 grand cash as deposit. Finally when everything was settled and I thought these were all the troubles, I was so wrong, it’s only the beginning.
When the guy left, I found that there was no WiFi info inside the apt, no slippers, no hair dryer. I emailed the owner, got no replied. Then I email the representative I met previously, finally he sent me a WiFi name and password, which was only valid for a night. The next morning I found that the WiFi didn’t work again, I emailed him and no replied received after that.
Aside of the communication hassles, the apt itself was old, sofas are full of stains, ants are everywhere. And becoz the network failure, I wasn’t even able to watch local TV. The other thing was the door lock, it was so old and flimsy and it was opened by a key, when you entered the apt you have to use the key to lock it inside; when you leave the apt you gotta lock it from the outside again.
Finally when it came to the day I left Jakarta, I emailed the owner that I had to leave at 10am and tried to get my deposit back, no replied. Then I emailed the guy and got reply from him, but he said he could only come at 11am. I said I couldn’t do it as my flight was at 1pm and it’s 45 mins away from the airport. Then he said he would send another representative and finally the dude arrived at 10:20am and paid me back my deposit.
Apart from all these unreasonable things, the apt has 2 points that didn’t let me down. 1st one is the location, it’s right on top of a mall, which is full of different restaurants; 2nd is the view, the apt got a BIG window and it’s located on 16/F, so the view is pretty open.
If the apt charges only US$30 a night, then I probably wont waste my time and type all these complains. You got what you pay for, right? It’s just it charges over US$120 for a night, and for the IND price level, it’s not cheap, and I’m so sure you can get a lot better different hotel / apt choices when you pay the same price.
The most discourage thing is the communication, I feel like once they got the money from you, you’re on your own. If anything happens, you’re also on your own. There’s no assistance or what so ever, I couldn’t even get help when I needed it. This is a lot worse than the apt problems. I can tolerate the stains, dusty tables, ants, no toilet paper… but when I need help the most this apt couldn’t assist me with anything. I strongly suggest all of you look somewhere else.
