I’m currently staying at the hotel with a couple of my friends. I purchased my room a few days BEFORE my friends, and we both purchased a superior full ocean view with a balcony. When we arrived at the hotel they told us that my friends room was available however mine was not, but they would call me when it was, and I waited in my friends room. Their room was gorgeous…a huge patio on a corner with a full ocean view, king bed, very clean, desk and other dresser tops for luggage etc, full mirror. They never called me regarding my room and finally at 3 PM. I went down as we were leaving for shopping and asked them and they told me it was ready. They gave me one key.. I open the door to the room and immediately hear screaming to notice that it is over the kids pool. I had a 2 feet wide “balcony” almost like a Juliet balcony. whereas my friends have a balcony almost the size of the actual room, a queen bed or a double (not sure) no place to put my luggage except inside the closet. The bathroom had mold. In the shower corner, around the corners of the bathroom itself, and either the rust or mold on the showerhead. The air conditioner doesn’t particularly cool the room down all the way as the exhaust and the air conditioner is in one corner of the room that’s near the door. I went downstairs and complained that the clearly that this did not seem to be the same hotel class. They briefly mentioned to my friend who is Turkish that they provided the larger room to my friend because they are two people. Considering I’m paying full price for the two person room perhaps their logic is an error as effectively I am paying double as a single person to what my friends are paying as they are sharing a room and I am paying for the entire room myself. Upon reporting my displeasure, they only offered a room that they admitted was even worse than the room they suggested initially, they did not offer me any sort of reduction on the room price. I can’t open the balcony because of the screaming children and I will be woken up tomorrow morning by the screaming. It is not a balcony that you can actually sit on and lounge, as you can on my friends. It seems strange to me that they would actually have me wait in my friends room and see their room and then try to put me in a room such as this… it’s simply poor customer service. I have to say I have literally never written a negative review about a hotel or restaurant etc before. I am a frequent traveler. It was shocking and disorienting.
