Our most unique experience in Laos. From check-in to departure, the service, the rooms, the gardens, the VIEWS on the Mekong, the food and most importantly, the experience of being completely absorbed in the peaceful purely rural life of the Island, where time seems to have stopped , were among the best we’ve had in all our travels In terms of location, a much better option than Pakse. The experience of living on a tiny island completely cut off from the rest of the world, taking part in the everyday life of fisherman, rural life, enjoying the most beautiful views on the Mekiong and the mountains behind, is very special. The hotel provides for boat trips whenever needed to go to Champasak (10 minutes boat ride and the views are amazing), and from there, you can drive wherever you wish to very easily. The hotel is simply amazing: the people are extremely welcoming, helpful, efficient and very thoughtful. The rooms are ever so comfortable and luxurious without being too much. Simply elegant, just like the gardens and the restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious, all in finesse. They support many inhabitants as well as various projects on the Island.

What a fab hotel! The whole experience was amazing, from being collected in the hotel boat to transportation over the sandy beach by local vehicle to the door of the hotel. The staff are exceptional, from Sam and his co front of house colleague (sorry I forget his name) to the restaurant staff and cleaners, who quietly and efficiently kept our room and the hotel in pristine order. The staff are warm, friendly and professional and genuinely care about their hotel guests. Our room overlooked the Mekong and we watched the wildlife and water buffalo parading close by, from sunrise to sunset. The pool and lounging deck were a haven but if relaxing isn't your thing, no matter the hotel bikes are great fun to explore the island. We also walked and ran around the island to get a feel for the beauty of the place. The spa was also excellent and recommended for the ultimate relaxation. The food was delicious and although the wine list was limiting (typical for Laos) the cold local BeerLao did the trick after a thirsty day exploring the island or on one of the organised tours on the mainland, booked through the helpful and obliging hotel staff. We have travelled all over Laos and its neighbouring countries and this was a real gem to stay at. I can't recommend it highly enough

Unfortunately we only stayed one night at this wonderful hotel. Luckily my husband had time to enjoy the massage - very good. Very warm welcome, welcome drink, very beautiful setting. Spacious room, no TV, fridge, courtesy tray, wifi. Very good restaurant but not much choice. Excellent breakfast. You can have a bike to go around the island but you should know that these are only dirt roads... So we opted for the local toktok tour (our backs and buttocks still remember it). The hotel has a shop selling local craft products (very democratic prices). If you have time, stay there for a few nights. The hotel is worth the detour.

Second stay in this special hotel (1st stay of 5 nights in November 2023). Arriving by boat and going up the beach by tak tak to reach the hotel are already two great experiences. The bungalows are nicely decorated and allow you to admire splendid sunrises and sunsets, observe buffaloes (and in particular their bathing in the Mekong) as well as fishermen. The swimming pool is splendid (very useful due to the high heat in March) and the staff are attentive. Life on the island is interesting and a small meal outside the hotel is what Mr. Mee requires. In short, the charm still works as much even the second time.

Superb lodge, very well integrated into nature and located just opposite Champasak on the opposite bank. In addition, the establishment has a very good ethic. The hotel boats provide shuttles. The bungalows are spacious and well equipped. Excellent breakfast and good meal. The staff is very friendly, attentive to the well-being of customers and attentive. Bicycles are left freely accessible. However, the path is a bit chaotic. I tried the spa and it was very good. Very nice swimming pool for relaxation. We hope to come back because we felt so good there.

Exceptional place on a small, quiet island. Bungalows facing the Mekong and magnificent swimming pool. Bikes available to explore the island and its villages with very friendly locals. A vision of the beauty of Laos and countryside life by the river. Too bad, however, for the daily management of the establishment despite the kind staff and friendly managers: the service staff do not speak English and are not experienced in tourist catering, the cuisine is very average for Laos and the prices charged here, products are missing from the menu and there is no fresh fruit juice. The breakfast is not of great quality either. In the rooms, there is a lack of fridges and hygiene products. It could be perfect given the location but all these little details (which are standard everywhere in Laos even in much cheaper hotels) spoil the overall experience a bit. This remains a magnificent hotel in a heavenly location. We just need to take control of the establishment and the teams a little. The Résidence Bassac located opposite offers a much better restaurant service, for example.

Very nice hotel well located facing the Mekong. Beautiful swimming pool, good breakfast..pleasant welcome. So much for the praise but when you pay this price in Laos you can expect something exceptional. So here's what we didn't like: no fridge in the rooms, small shower with outdated curtains, one of the bikes lent to us was in poor condition. At the restaurant, undercooked ravioli with a lot of dough for little filling. Bottled fruit juice. A few details but it can make a difference.

This is a incredible place to stay. So calm and peaceful! The views on Mekong and the mountains are beautiful. The bungalows are cosy . The staff is so welcoming and always available. Mr. Sam , duty manager is very professional and polite. You can rely on him for any activities you want to book. A place to go to and enjoy. Some improvements that could benefit the place - mosquito net ( although this was not a problem)
