Kedrissos Hotel

As with so many things in life, its the small thins that count. This is a hotel that lifts itself over and beyond what you expect from a small, family-run hotel. And it does so because the owners take pride in their work. Everything is clean, functioning, well thought-through. And if you ask them for advice on where to go, be it a restaurant or an excursion, they will take out time to find out who you are and what you are looking for, before nailing it with something that fits you perfectly. We'll be back!

I loved this hotel. Firstly, the manager was exceptionally helpful.. he helped us organise a hire car at a very good price, told us the best places to visit at the best times, recommended an authentic restaurant and wrote out a menu items in Greek.. All reception staff were helpful. Secondly, the hotel was very clean and our rooms were cleaned thoroughly - daily. Thirdly, it was nice to have a pool side cafe/bar with a full menu (although we normally ate out). The pool was a nice size. Fourthly, The location suited us. We walked into Chania which took 30mins (give or take). There is a coast side walk which takes longer again but it is a more pleasant walk and has many bars along the way. We ( a family with 2 children aged 9 and 12) walked the busier, roadside walk and felt safe even late at night (10.30 ish after a meal). We had a hire car for a few days so got out about that side of the island. This hotel is set slightly back from the main road so you can't see or hear the road from you room or beside the pool. We loved Crete, we only had 6 days to explore and would have liked more time.

From start to finish this hotel really knows its stuff. Its super clean, the staff are amazing - friendly, funny, whilst being professional - just a joy to be around. Breakfast is wholesome and fresh and the food in the restaurant is great and they've got the pricing right too. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday, which has low-key easy listening music (loved that too) around the pool and a good night's sleep then this is the place for you. Tends to attract an older 'audience', with a variety of nationalities staying, (many of whom are repeat guests) but that is in keeping with the tranquility. Andreas has a wealth of knowledge of the local area. So, Andreas, Niko and all the staff, thank you for looking after us so well.

I travel a lot, and this is the first time I have had such a terrible experience. So much that for the first time in my life, I had to leave an hotel and find somewhere else to stay. We booked our trip 6 months ago. We arrived at night with our 2 kids. Compared to what they advertise, the « apartment » they gave us was way smaller, way older and the AC was extremely loud, which made it complicated to sleep. The balcony was stuck to the next apartment balcony. We went to the lobby but they told us we had to wait for the next day. They showed us one room almost identical to the first one we had. The only better thing was the view. We gave up and told ourselves to accept that this was a very bad hotel… Unfortunately this was not the end of the story. When we came back after a long day and started to put the kids to sleep, we realized that the only AC was in the bedroom and that the living room where two of us were supposed to sleep had no AC!! So we had to spend another sleepless night. In the morning we explained the situation and told them we couldn’t stay given everything. The manager, Andreas, got very angry at us. Even thought he refused to reimburse us for the remaining nights, we still left as it would have been awful to stay there. Fortunately we explained the situation to *******. They really listened, we showed them the pictures and they agreed with us and reimbursed us. Thanks to ******* we were able to still enjoy the remaining of our only week of vacation.

The service was amazing with the very humorous staff. The view in the room 115 was absolutely amazing on one side was a mountain view and on the other side there was a beach view.The staff are very compassionate about there job. The room was very spacious and had lots of light throught the huge windows.
