Love this hotel, it was very hip and edgy. The location is a little bit outside of central downtown and the surroundings are a bit run down but I think they are working on it. I love the aesthetics of the hotel!

Beaches are just 10 minutes away, and we are less than 20 minutes from downtown Charleston attractions like the aquarium, historic city market, and the Battery. I live in the area so this was a staycation. After a great experience I will definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family who might be visiting. First impression was a very clean hotel and somewhat modern. Room was nice and felt comfortable. Quiet for the most part except you could hear people flushing toilets in other rooms when you were in the bathroom. I had digital key so didn't need to interact with the front desk staff except for late night when we got a snack from the little shop they have. Nice to have an onsite bar since there's really nothing within walking distance. The bartender on duty was super nice and efficient. Overall a great one night stay. This will be the first choice if we do it again.

The room was clean as expected. The fact that they no longer clean and replace the towels daily was great to us. But for the price we paid we had the worst breakfast. I realize there is no kitchen in this facility and all they are capable of serving is pre made food that is reheated. However they have control over the quality of products. The worst eggs, not enough fruit for all the guests, the sausage and potatoes were also just warm. We have been staying at this hotel for twenty years since the family circle tennis which now is Credit one tennis was moved here. This will absolutely be our last stay.

The first time I stayed at a hotel at 2:30 in the middle of the night, I met someone who kept knocking on the door. I didn't come up after half an hour of complaining to the front desk. I was speechless and would not live again.

Always very clean, good smelling rooms in a quiet tranquil setting. Beds super comfy. Always able to sleep well. Staff very friendly and accommodating! We always travel with our dog (son) and it is so nice to not be stuck in typical doggy smelling not very nice pet friendly room. This hotel is always clean and fresh and not like that at all. We really appreciate that you allow our dog and hope you will continue to have a pet friendly policy. Very happy to have found d this hotel!!!

GGuest UserMy dear wife and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Charleston - North for two nights. We found the room clean and spacious. The morning breakfast was abundant and satisfying. Of particular note was the friendliness of both the evening and day reception clerks. The day clerk, Jean was extremely helpful when we asked her what she would recommend seeing in Charleston. She provided us with a map along with taking the time to show us several points of interest. We followed her recommendations and had a wonderful afternoon exploring and enjoying the historic district of Charleston. This was our first time staying at a Holiday Inn. We were truly impressed.

GGuest UserOur stay at the Hyatt House was very good. The location is conveniently located in a quiet area of MT Pleasant with shops within walking distance. It is also only 10 minutes from historical downtown Charleston. The staff at the hotel from housekeeping, to the breakfast team were all exceptionally friendly and attentive. Dominique and Dani who were on front desk duty were the icing on the cake, as they were very hospitable, and knowledgeable about the Charleston area, always ready to assist us whenever we needed assistance. We are looking forward to staying again, with the hopes of having a wider selection of cable TV channels, and the option to use our Netflix account.(It seemed that BET as well as other channels were scrambled with the cable provider that The Hyatt House uses).

GGuest UserWhen we arrived at the hotel and checked in. We enquired about the breakfast which was included in the booking. We were suprised to find out that there wasn't actually a breakfast. You got this card, and every morning you could pick out one item out of their ”supermarket”. The ”supermarket” was basically a minifridge and freezer, and a couple of shelves. Here you could find little cups of icecream, frozen minipizza, water, cola, and things like crisps and m&m's. This is hardly a breakfast. And you could only take one item, not even a drink and a snack. We said that this was not what we expected when we made the booking with breakfast included.
The receptionist didn't even apologize just stated that the information on the website was old from 2021 and that they hadn't gotten around to changing it.
We decided on this hotel because the breakfast was included. It was a pretty expensive booking. With over 400 dollars per night you would expect at least and nice breakfast or apologies and compensation.
At the end we just took a bottle of water in the morning and had breakfast elsewhere.

- rooms are relatively clean however I found a few hairs here and there
- rooms are spacious enough
- Check-in is at 4pm officially but our room was ready at 2pm so we could check in
- mini fridge in room
- the hotel is nicely furnished and decorated
- 24-hour fitness center
- 2 complimentary bottles of water
- Coffee machine in the room
Cons:
- staff at the front desk could’ve been friendlier
- bed too soft and pillows too thick
- A/C didn’t work properly—the room was either ice cold or hot

GGuest UserI was super pleased with our stay! We got a very reasonable price on our stay so I was a little nervous to see the place and I was so very happy we chose to stay here! The staff was great, the hotel was clean, and the location couldn’t have been better! The only complaint we had was the elevator took forever and was not air conditioned so we used the steps which the stairwells are also not air conditioned. They had maintenance people painting rooms and doors keeping the place looking nice so they definitely care about the look and they guests so hopefully they can help this in the near future… I looked at a crazy about of places before we booked and I read reviews on every single one so I hope to help someone else with reassurance that this is a great place to stay! 5 stars!

GGuest UserThe hotel is as pictured, great location and beautiful lobby & bar and great friendly staff as you walk in. The pool was a nice spot to relax and my daughter had a great time swimming. Outlet stores are directly across the street and lots of quick food options. Easy commute into Charleston and folly beach area. The room was nice, beds were fairly comfortable, not the best hotel mattress I’ve ever slept on. The bathroom is the only negative. Unlike the rest of the room it had this poorly fitted drop ceiling that was starting to rust from the poor ventilation. There was also a wire rack shelf in the shower that was mostly rusted over, not the kind of place you want to rest you bar of soap.

JJackgangchenThere are more breakfasts and meals, but the hotel staff is very warm and thoughtful. After the breakfast meal is over, ask for it and come back to face the meal after the meal. My car key was lost on the hotel sofa, and the front desk ***o and Damelle found it and kept it for the customer. The front desk staff patiently helped you change rooms. Parking is not sufficient for the occupants. Late night, the hotel has to park at the surrounding banks and have to move in the morning.

PParkerI am in town weekly, and stay at this location about 90% of the time. The staff has always been most helpful and friendly. Rooms are always clean. Parking is convenient. The only negative that I have, is that the TV’s in all of the rooms are offset in an unusual position, which makes it difficult to watch from anywhere in the room.

GGuest UserI was talking to the reservation phone center when they recommended this hotel. I was 3 blocks away when they mentioned it, so drove to the location as we talked. I had stayed a different hotel 3 blocks away the night before but couldn't get a reservation for this particular night, so was familiar with the area. Though many hotels in the area look very safe, when I pulled into the lot, there were a group of young men partying in the parking lot by a pick up truck... and the other side of the parking lot was empty, which was odd given the other hotels in the area. As I drove the parking lot, i sensed there was something wrong, and didn't feel safe so told the reservation person that I was not interested in staying at this location. She charged my card anyway. In the middle of the night, i got a call from someone at the hotel asking me when I was going to arrive, and I told them I should not have had a reservation there at all. She said that the reservation had been confirmed, even though i know it was not. I contacted Days Inn corporate as advised by the hotel management, but they have not returned my request. I have protested the charge on my credit card. Anyone takes the 3 minutes to listen to the call recording, which you know they record, will hear me say I did NOT want to stay there and the agent clearly says she will cancel the request. I was told that I would have the opportunity to confirm the reservation after she had all of my information, so I was buying time while I drove, but I would never trust another wyndham's agent again. It is cheaper to reserve on the phone, but when the agents are dishonest and will charge your card even if you don't want to make a reservation, that's a scam. This hotel looks seedy from the outside, and had almost no cars in the lot on a night other hotels were full. Though they advertise a rate in the $85 range, they charged me $150. I slept in my car that night in the hotel lot I had stayed at the previous night because I was tired of calling all these reservation desks only to have them just want my info before finding a hotel. They are just interested in your card info so they can bill you whatever they want, and you have no control over it. I have yet to see if corporate will stand up to their reputation. Still was probably a better night than this place given what I saw and the reviews here. But they ripped me off.
