We had a great time in Chengdu and our stay at minyoun hotel helped make all the difference. It is quite a luxurious hotel with the reception on the 33rd floor and rooms even higher up meaning that all rooms came with an unobstructed view of the city skyline.
Location was also great being within walking distance ~7-10mins to taikooli (shopping area) and lankwaifong (bar/club area). It was also only 100/200meters away from a metro station which we honestly didn’t use, as taxis were all only 10-20rmb (~€2)
Finally the staff were excellent and particularly helpful at every request. Special shoutout to the 2 girls (apologies if we have the names wrong but Chris and Joy?), and Stefan Hu who took the time to suggest all the best places to visit around Chengdu - helping us add the locations to our maps and gifting us a tourist information notebook and panda!
We really enjoyed our stay at minyoun hotel and would highly recommend staying here. The staff brought our stay to another level, thank you ⭐️

The location was ideal as it is short walking distance to the popular Chunxi Road where the airport bus can be found there too. As there's several Atour within that same area, we went to the incorrect one at first before finding the right one. We had arrived closed to 4pm but the room was not ready despite the check-in time was 3pm. Reason given to us was that due to the ongoing renovation, thus the housekeeping was busier than usual. While we understand the renovation is for improvement of the hotel, not receiving prior notice about potential delay in check-in was not a pleasant experience the moment we check-in.
As the room we have booked on trip.com platform has some ”weird setup” whereby breakfast is included for 1 guest, thus we had to purchase additional breakfast for the remaining check-in guest. The instructions given by the hotel on how this is done wasn't very clear and kind of sounded like upselling instead of really giving in house guest some discount as they claimed. This had also left quite a bad experience on the first day of check-in.
We were also asked to add them on wechat, just like any other accommodation that we had stayed in during our trip in China, and we can contact them for assistance via Wechat. However, I received no replies from them via wechat when I indeed use this platform to seek help. While I understand that they have many guests to attend to and may not provide immediate replies, in my situation, the questions that I have raised via wechat was left unanswered until day 3 of my stay when i had to personally seek help at the reception and raised the issue of unanswered wechat messages to them. This was something not experienced in my other accommodation and considering Atour is a relatively big chain in China, this is an upsetting experience during our stay. Strongly suggest that they improve in their service level.

Front desk officers were very helpful and we are very impressed on their willingness to assist us. Since we couldn’t speak Chinese, they used translation apps to communicate with us. They also helped call a Didi rider and explained the driver where our destination was.
We booked 2 non-smoking rooms and we could get what we had requested. The rooms were big, clean and well equipped with facilities. Our rooms were quite quiet and we rarely heard sound from the street.
Breakfast was also really good and there were varieties of choices. Foods were not too spicy and we could enjoy them every morning.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The building is new and modern, which made for a very comfortable experience. The location is incredibly convenient, with plenty of eateries nearby to explore. A special shoutout to Xiao Tang, one of the staff members, who was extremely helpful in assisting us with booking train tickets to Du Jiang Yan. Their service truly made our trip smoother and more enjoyable. Highly recommend this hotel for its excellent amenities and outstanding staff!

Nice hotel , good value . We received a nice welcome from the front staff, Miss He. Got even Häagen-Dazs ice-cream although the scoop is a little small :)and a cup of tea and a welcome fruit platter . Location is good , with recommendations of good hotpot restaurants from Miss He. Breakfast selection is adequate and good quality . There were a lot of customers but luckily the breakfast area is big enough to not feel too crowded . There is a laundromat floor free to use , which is very handy .
The only complaint we had was the long wait for the lifts during peak hours in the morning . Will recommend this hotel for a city stay.

Great hotel. Located a mere 10mins walk away from Taikoo Li, Chunxi Road and the metro station. A convenience sits right beside the hotel too. Good variety of rooms to choose from. We got a free upgrade to a corner room that had a wider entryway. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Comes with a kettle however no mini fridge. Hotel comes with a laundry room with washers and a dryer. Service was generally good. Left luggage service available.
Would recommend staying here of you're looking an afforable place to staynin Chengdu.

LLvsezhiziI stayed for two nights during the May Day holiday and was very satisfied! First of all, it is worth recommending that the service attitude is very good, and it takes all aspects of the guests into consideration. It makes guests feel at home, and the service is far better than that of a five-star hotel. Secondly, the environment is very good. It is located between two mountains full of bamboo forests. The garden design is great, and it has its own mountain trail and tea pavilion developed on one side of the mountain. The kids had a lot of fun playing in the garden and on the mountain trail. The room is a large Japanese tatami style, including goose*stone slabs in the room, which the kids love very much. Breakfast is served one by one, with a unique style. Dinner is a standard meal, very rich, and also suitable for kids. It's a pity that it rained for two days and I didn't see the fireflies. I will come to see the fireflies in July~

DDelboyThis was a first class experience at a first class hotel. Right from the start I was made to feel at home and was allowed to check in much earlier than 2pm which was ideal as I could freshen up before going to my future work place. In addition, complimentary breakfast was added to my reservation which again was a big bonus and the choices were fantastic. The grounds around the hotel are very nice to take a walk and the hotel is very near to many restaurants. The room itself was comfortable and great value for money and even having a bathtub was nice to use at the end of the day. This is a great place for anybody to stay and is family friendly which is convenient to go and see the pandas. All the staff were fantastic but I must mention Paul who really went that extra mile to make stay comfortable and even exchanged his Wechat in case I needed any help. His professional approach and English speaking ability is a great asset to the hotel. I will definitely be returning soon.

During this stay, I am very satisfied with the hotel's facilities and personnel services, especially their professionalism and thoughtfulness. I believe this will be my first choice for travel accommodation in the future. I look forward to visiting your hotel again next time! This hotel is very comfortable to stay in, and the elegant seats are all ingeniously decorated. The scenery outside the window adds novelty, and a peaceful night's sleep is deep.

GGuest User1) Subway station is 30 seconds right across the road.
2) Location is good because it is enveloped by a few famous narrow alleys selling handicraft, snacks, desserts, souvenirs, Chinese artwork etc, and have endless food stalls, coffee shops that surround the hotel, buzzing with activities all day till at least 11pm.
3) Hotel staff speak minimal English but they do understand it albeit not able to converse freely. Naturally using PTH is best.
4) Staff in the entire hotel are very friendly, courteous, pleasant and accommodating, trying to help in any way possible.
5) Bespectacled night manageress in a black suit was very welcoming and sweet. She offered to upgrade us when the room originally assigned for us was not as quiet as we had requested when we booked it. She led us to see the original one ( 2/F )and the other one ( the quieter one on 3/F ) and let us choose.
6) The upgraded room ( 3/F ) was a suite and it was really nice --- very quiet with courtyard view and tasteful lay out.
7) Cannot praise enough for the delightful suite -- spacious and elegant ; super clean ; smells nice , refreshing and just right not overwhelming ; white crispy bed linen ; daily turn down service; endless supply of fresh bottled water on daily basis ; spotless tumbler and fresh bottle of water by the bedside table every evening; everything you touch is spotless ; wooden flooring matching Chinese wooden furniture in simple design giving out this classy Chinese feel ; free to consume anything for the 1st time in the mini bar ; tea & coffee replenished daily ; kettle and coffee machine; free stationery like scissors, stapler, clips, pencil and pens etc; toiletries like vanity set, combs, toothbrush etc replenished daily ; spacious bathroom with double wash basins and clean white towels ; wash basins in rose gold but not tacky; shower drainage not smooth on 1st night but they fixed it and no prob thereafter ; water pressure from shower was good and plenty of marble top inside shower room for your own toiletries ; bathtub with fresh rose petals on 1st night and various types of bath salt ; big screen to watch telly while in tub ; separate toilet near living room; ample wardrobe space and power operated blinds and black out blinds. They provide steam iron on request but it would be better to have a proper flat iron if you want to press pants and other thicker harder material. Steam iron is only good for silk or plain cotton. Even linen is better with a flat iron.
8) This is a 100% Chinese ambience hotel from lobby to our suite but nothing is gaudy or ostentatious because everything is simple, no fuss, low-key, very clean, good architecture, functional and all colour combo is soothing to the eyes.

WWen KaiGreat and convenient location, to the point we extended another night stay. Only 200m to People's Park station, subway Line 2, which can connect you almost anywhere. Able to walk to People's Park and Kuanzhai Alley, even Tianfu Square if you can walk 2km. Also have a convenience store available downstairs of the same building, and Hong Qi store if you walk a bit further. Many tour agencies are on the opposite road, where you can book day tours. The tour bus pickup and drop off points are also only around 1km from this building, easy to walk to due to the extra-wide sidewalks. It's facing the main road so you can easily get taxis as well.
The building is easy to locate, but the check in counter is more confusing to find. When looking in from the main road, the convenience store is on the left, so you need to go to the opposite side of the convenience store. You need to walk to the back of the building and find the entrance facing the wall with a car park boom gate. There is a security guard and there are lots of online delivery boxes. Then, access the elevator and the reception is on level 26.
There was a washing machine and detergent available in our unit, which we utilized. Other than the clothes hanging bar in the kitchen, the rest of the unit lacked places to hang things such as wet towels. It was a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom unit with another queen bed in the living room. Hot water was always available though you have to fiddle with the lever and wait some time. The kitchen only had a water kettle and a few mugs. There's a primary school right beside the building and you can hear the students every weekday morning. (My photos were taken just before checkout so don't mind the mess)
The owners are an exceptionally friendly couple who are hardworking and provide excellent service. They are open to feedback and we've told them what we think was lacking in our unit. Hopefully they will implement the small improvements. They also recommended a few restaurants to us that had good local food and were reasonably priced.
Recommend to add them on WeChat prior to arrival and communicate your arrival time. They wait at the front desk past midnight if they don't know the guest's check in time. However, they can only communicate in Mandarin, so you may face some difficulty.

CCatherine HumeThe reception girls are very polite, friendly and helpful. The room is clean and big, the bed is very comfortable. Chinese style breakfast is free and balanced diet, suitable for anyone who likes Chinese food! Free cherry tomatoes are fresh and sweet. Self-serve laundry service - washing machine is free to use on the 4th floor. The room has a slight smell of mold, but the manager have promised to solve the problem with the cleaning company. All in all, the hotel is value for money, I am very happy with the stay and I will recommend it to my friends and the family.

GGuest UserThis is probably your best option in Chengdu. The rooms are really cute with a tatami style bed and they are clean. The water pressure is awesome and the room is quiet. The staff speaks English so it is easy to communicate and get help/info.
The hang around areas are nice and the roof top has a great view but the beers are a bit expensive for being a hostel.
Zoey that works in the reception is the best! She is super service minded and will help you with everything!
She helped us much more than expected from the hotel/hostel staff. Without her our visit would have been much less nice and more complicated.
The hostel should be super happy to have her and should do everything in the world to keep her! If we go back to Chengdu we would choose this hostel over a nicer hotel just because of the brilliant service, thanks a lot Zoey!
The laundry service upstairs works great and it is cheap but there is only one machine and you can hang your clothes there and they dry quickly or you use the dryer. We didn't have any issues waiting to use them etc.

While the property's proximity to one of the city's premier tourist destinations is undoubtedly a boon, the mere 10-minute stroll from the nearest metro station is somewhat offset by the arduous 1.5-hour commute from the Tianfu Airport.
However, this minor inconvenience is more than compensated for by the hotel's close proximity to a veritable cornucopia of local eateries, each offering a tantalizing array of regional delicacies. Furthermore, the establishment's fundamental standards of cleanliness and tidiness, coupled with its remarkably affordable pricing, render it a tempting proposition for the discerning traveler.
Regrettably, the hotel's secluded location may give rise to certain reservations, particularly for female guests, who may find the sense of isolation somewhat unsettling. The complete absence of cold water, a fundamental amenity, is a glaring oversight that can only be described as utterly deplorable and potentially hazardous.
Adding to the compound's woes is the curious configuration of the floor upon which I have been granted lodging, which appears to be a curious amalgamation of guest quarters and staff dormitories, lending an air of awkwardness to the proceedings. Finally, the presence of a tea set devoid of its essential component – the tea leaves – is a peculiarity that, while not entirely crippling, nonetheless serves to underscore the minor oversights that have crept into the hotel's otherwise commendable service.
In conclusion, while the Wenshu Monastery hotel presents a compelling proposition for the budget-conscious traveler seeking convenient access to Chengdu's cultural treasures, the shortcomings outlined above cannot be overlooked, and prospective guests would do well to weigh the pros and cons with due diligence before committing to their stay.

BBrianMy stay was great at Sonderia, the hostel was clean and all the staff were very friendly, giving tips on where to go and how to get there also my late check in at 4 am wasn't a problem. Shout out to Damon who was great at helping me get around and printing some visa docs for me!! Having the bar also was nice in the evenings to chill after a long day sightseeing and meet some fellow travellers about. Overall great and will deffo return when back in Chengdu!

We arrived late past 12am, the person who picked us up came on time, however, a heads up would be well appreciated as the way to the hotel was a dark, unlit, small road. We were all alert and concerned about where we were heading. A real scare!! Other than that, everything is okay for a night stay.
