Cherokee Inn

We stayed in Cherokee to enjoy the Great Smokey Mountains National Park before heading to Gatlinburg. This is an excellent stop for close proximity to Cherokee. Food and shopping options are close by, along with easy access to the park and nature attractions. The hotel does not have many amenities itself, but the rooms are very comfortable and the hotel is practical. The breakfast had a lot of good options. We would definitely stay at this hotel again for a visit in the Cherokee area.

Super 8 by Wyndham Cherokee

I’ve never wanted to stay at a super 8 bc I’ve always heard such bad experiences but surprisingly my experience wasn’t at all bad this was a pretty decent hotel & the carpet in our room felt like the cleanest carpet I’ve felt even better then the higher end hotels. The guy up a the front desk was informative & nice. Great room considering the price!
Cherokee Grand Hotel

Disappointing breakfast with just apples, bagels, cereal and yogurt. No bread, no eggs, no sausage and no microwave. Staff isn’t friendly and lacks any customer service skills. The lobby is beautiful and the rooms spacious, clean and well maintained. DESPITE reserving a handicap room, I found the “handicap room” wasn’t wheelchair friendly. I give the hotel a C- as “handicap friendly”. The bathroom so small I couldn’t close the door with my wheelchair in the bathroom (with the footrests removed) and I couldn’t get to the shower because the door was in the way, I had to walk into the bathroom (a struggle for me) then close the door to get into the shower. The shower is dangerous without any hand/ safety rails. I did get a walk in shower and they did provide a shower chair but the only shelf in the shower was on the back of the shower and not reachable when using the shower chair. This is a DANGEROUS shower which requires using the glass shower door handle to move in/out or stand while bathing. It’s a million dollar accident waiting to happen. Two more issues with simple solutions: the toilet is an old “squat” toilet (probably 14 in bowl height) making use and transferring to and from the toilet difficult (no grab bar). New toilets are 17 1/2 and 18 inches making the wheelchair chair to toilet easier and safer. Finally, the carpet in the room is beautiful and thick BUT it was hard to move around in the room with the wheelchair. Many hotels now have “hard surface” floors making it much easier to move around and safer for those using walkers or canes. PLUS hotel carpets are known to hold bacteria with the hard surface easier to clean. Pitiful internet which goes every hour or so and the TV didn’t work well despite the desk clerk trying to fix it.. about every 15 minutes the tv would go offline requiring a wait and restart (see pictures).
Great Smokies Inn - Cherokee
4.5/5102 Reviews
having to relocate to cherokee at the spur of the moment for employment Great Smokies Inn made my relocating painless making me feel right at home for a month till i found housing. The rooms were spacius comfortable and clean and the staff was friendly, pleasant, helpful and welcomed me to their community with out hesitation. Especially Jess, she was always willing to go the extra mile, although I am unsure of her current position. Her customer service, pride and dedication in her work makes he upper management material. And if she is not in management then she needs to be. To say the least she is one of the few hospitalitarians we still have left today in our industry.
Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort

Overall we had a great stay. It was our first time ever at the casino so we were definitely out of our element. The casino was great as well as the restaurants. I’m gluten and dairy free but I found I could eat something in most all of the eatery’s. The room itself was nice, however there was little to no hot water. We stayed on the 16th floor the first night and decided to stay an additional night but had to move to the 14th floor. Both floors had the same hot water issues. We wanted to remain in our original room but was told at the front desk there was nothing available, but to go online and check. We found the same room type available online so we reserved it. This was an inconvenience to me. We had to check out of the 16th floor room and check in to the 14th floor room at 11a.m. This also put me paying the resort fee twice. When we checked in to the 14th floor there was no soap or lotions (not a huge deal) and only one towel/wash cloth. I requested more through Ivy the concierge and was told they’d leave some hanging on our door. I requested this twice and both times we did not receive the towels. Luckily my husband and I have been together for 27 years, so sharing a washcloth was not life-ending. We’ll definitely be staying again. I’m not sure if we’ll stick with The Cherokee rooms again.
