Crabwall Manor Spa, BW Signature Collection

We have had a lovely stay, and it would only take a few tweaks to make this hotel better. Good: *It's in the perfect location, we took an uber into the centre of Chester for less than £5. *Breakfast was relaxed with a great selection as a buffet service. *Spacious room with all the amenities you need. *Plenty of free parking. *Beautiful grounds and really quiet at night. *Great value for money Needs Improving: *Cleaning standard is average, black mold around the taps in the bathroom that could be easily resolved. *Bathroom floor was desperate for a good mop *Bed wasn't the comfiest as 2 twins fastened together leaving a gap in the middle. *Staffing levels affecting customer service levels, we decided to order room service, took an age to answer the phone and then said could be collected from reception, kind of goes against the point of room service, so we left it, not great for the hotels add on sales if that happens everytime. *No enough bar staff, we ordered food but it was cold and one meal was not what we ordered but too hungry to wait for it to be replaced, apparently fish finger sandwich is identical to fish and chips anyway according to the waitress! Like I said it won't take much for this hotel to raise it's customer service standards to an excellent level, more staff will fix most of the issues, despite everything mentioned we would probably stay again.

I have been to a spa and hotel every year and this is the first time I have wanted to write a review to save people going . It is an absolutely filthy hotel , hardly any decent staff, waited 3/14 hr for a coffee . Treatments cancelled an hour before they were due , A manager who couldn’t care less You have been warned to please choose somewhere else . This is no way a four star hotel

I have just celebrated my 80th Birthday at this Hotel with my wonderful family. We took three of the larger bedrooms and found them comfortable. All the staff we dealt with were very helpful and the one or two problems we did have were sorted. In particular Andrew looked after us very well during our Saturday evening meal and ensured everything went smoothly. Being an old Hotel some areas were a little tired but there was no problem with cleanliness.

Start with the good, beautiful building, beautiful location & excellent breakfast. Unfortunately although the room was nice enough the corridors quite badly need decorating & the carpets are stained. There are doors on the corridor about every 3rd room and when they are used they bang shut loudly at all times of the night. Also there's an issue with the tv reception, even bbc1 - Ch4 keep freezing so don't expect to necessarily get any others.

Would just like to say a massive thank you to Martin, for looking after us so well, on Friday night for my Dad’s 80th celebration weekend and also Andrew, who was so attentive to the whole family yesterday and today. Andrew made sure that everything was done to perfection throughout Saturday evening and today. We’ll definitely be back.

We came for our sons wedding. The place and setting was really good all the staff were amazing and very helpful could not have been better. We stayed over and had use of the pool,sauna and jacuzzi. So all in all a nice weekend. Top marks to the wedding coordinator Martin and his team and all the staff.

Oh dear! This is a hotel that surely thinks it is better than it actually is. This was to be a nice way to finish our holiday as it was to be the last stop on our return home. We even upgraded to this room (9) but I suspect they must have seen us coming! We arrived just after 4pm and were warmly welcomed and given an introduction to the hotel and its facilities. We were told that nothing would be too much trouble. The room was large with equally large bathroom and so we were pleased. We were surprised however that there was only one bedside light. At 6pm we put the TV on to watch the news and none of the main channels were available! Reported it to reception when we went down to the dining room just before 7. We were told to try retuning it which we did later but with no success. Reported it again in the morning and were told that maintenance were on it! When we returned it still didn’t work! After making a fuss we had a manager trying to sort it in our room. He has also cleared up the cigarette butts from the balcony. I’ll also add that we reported the plug in the bathroom sink as being faulty and nothing has been done about that. Finally, for only the second time in our travels around the world, the bed wasn’t made as part of the room service. Not having a TV was a nuisance but the slow response was what really irked. Manager disappeared 2 hours ago so think we are without TV again tonight! It’s now well over 24 hours since we first reported it so will give up now! Needless to say we won’t be returning here should we come back to Chester.

My son and daughter in law had there wedding there it was fantastic from the time it was booked till the day after the wedding nothing was to much trouble .the wedding planner helped them all the way through, then they had a fantastic wedding coordinator Martin from the Thursday my daughter inlaw arrived until we all left on the Saturday, everything went brilliant and the food was amazing we had a Bbq for the evening that just kept going for hrs and the rooms were lovely clean and spacious. Then following day we had full use of all facilities. All in all fabulous day ,fantastic facilities and absolutely brilliant staff and big thankyou to Martin the fantastic and caring coordinator. Best day ever .
