I'm going to start by hoping that the manager who responded all "sassy" to comments in 2018 is fired, because taking an accusatory tone and insulting customers is unacceptable. NOW. It's not a worse spot in the middle of Chicoutimi, where I would never go with family or tourists. Lac St Jean offers plenty of lodges and campsites, but as a single person as I am, that just doesn't do it for me. So if you're doing spontaneous "hitch" as long as they haven't built an econo lodge nearby, this is the spot for you. I purposely looked up the history of the building (like old bank plans) because I was curious to know if it was once a hospital. At first he thought maybe a school, but the premises are too close together and the toilets are located like a cssld. Imagine that these are not lofts renovated by Demonfort, but really a health center “refurbished” to be a hotel. A bit Soviet, but Canada is too 19 century to be Soviet, unfortunately :) In short, 211 for 2 nights is expensive, econo lodge cost 150 for 2 nights in 2018-19. COVID?? Parking at the back should be a car park, not a stable please. THANKS.

Clean but small and dilapidated room. Also a dilapidated hotel. Laundromat that works well and not expensive! On the other hand, the hostess does not give change spontaneously (you have to ask... and still $0.20 was missing) Entrance with heavy suitcases complicated by the reception stairs. Slightly creepy neighborhood...

The view was incredible! This is the only positive point... Before arriving, we received a code and a key box number by text message. So we can't talk about the staff or employees since we didn't come across a single living soul... When you arrive, the parking is rubbish. There is no line to be drawn on the ground, the cars are anyhow and anywhere, there was no more space, but if everyone was not parked in a row, there would have to be more. to have. Anyway, enter the “hotel” the elevator makes a crazy racket. We were seriously afraid to go inside. The room... There are more regulations than in CPE, it's ridiculous. There are posters EVERYWHERE in the room in addition to the list of rules to read upon arrival. And the regulations themselves are rubbish. “Avoid all noise” I booked specifying that we have a baby… She will cry for sure… “Any excessive charges caused by negligence windows, air conditioner, TV or lights left open will be charged to you” Well let’s see?… The worse is the one which specifies that the hotel reserves the right to enter the room at any time without regard to the do not disturb sign to verify that the rules are respected… We called it our prison cell… The toilet is so close to the wall that it is impossible to sit on it the right way. The beds are each at a different end of the room and the television is not aligned with either end. The sheets had big brown stains… We wanted to leave, but there was no room anywhere else in the area… We booked at the park hotel, but the posters were in the name of the park mansion and the floor coverings changing in the middle of the room which suggests that it is a former long-term accommodation center or apartment block which has been attempted to be converted into a “hotel”. This is a style of accommodation that clearly suits some people! But it's not a hotel. We paid $260 for two nights. It's reasonable of course, but to have the impression of being in a student dormitory, it's a bit expensive to pay all the same... And looking at the comments on TripAdvisor and seeing the cold responses from the hotel... It doesn't give not really in the mood to interact with the staff…

I stayed a week at Hotel du Park in September 2019 until I found a place to move in. I chose the hotel because of it's more affordable price range. The room was not large, but just enough for one person. Cleanliness was well maintained and as I recall the staff was nice and polite. Although it was a bit difficult to get information because my French was very bad and their English was very minimalist, but as I learned, this is to be expected in smaller towns in Quebec. Overall my stay was nice and comfortable and I recall buying some nice locally made ketchup, which was a first for me.

I was warned about smoking and not welcomed. I hate smoking, quit pot 30 yrs ago and never liked tobacco. They should put hard wired tamper proof smoke alarms in each room. Smokers lie, put them all on the same floor. Clearly someone had smoked on my floor on the first day. My cold welcome made me not go to the pub or go to the diner. Sure if anyone smokes near me, I have the overwhelming desire to punch them in the face, but everyone should be innocent until proven guilty.
