Stayed for a night and the staff are incredibly friendly. The place is getting a full makeover and I can’t wait to stay when it is done. Definitely recommend staying there. Super handy location and only a short walk away from Hagley Park

The owner was very friendly. The room, while a little dated, was great for the price - especially with the spa bath included. The room was also spotless. Town is a little bit of a walk away, but the spa made it all worthwhile. Handy to Edgeware village if you need to do any grocery shopping.

The open style is a whole piece of floor-to-ceiling glass with no windows. It faces the road, but there are not many cars and it is not very noisy. It's OK for one person, but the space will be a little smaller for two people. The hotel is located about a 20-minute walk from the Botanical Garden and the city center. There are no tall buildings in this city, just short houses.

Excellent location to explore Christchurch attractions. Very clean and well appointed room for an excellent price (I was wondering what It may be getting into). The room quality was a 3+ star for US standards. The only negative is the lack of parking (only offstreet parking or may have to drive a block away for parking). The clean room, friendly staff and excellent location and the overall niceness of Christchurch and it's people in general made us quickly get over the initial stress of trying to find a place to park. This is a modern, clean motel. The unit as stayed in (1 bed) was a decent size with a lovely bathroom and almost all the amenities you would expect. The king bed was nice and comfortable, the sofa was also. Everything looked like new. The only let down for me was that I would not stay in the 1 bedroom until again. I'd rather stay in a studio.. why?? Because there is no TV in the bedroom... This was the only letdown because I love nothing more than getting into the lovely bed and watching the TV. The main TV was a decent Samsung smart with Freeview but is connected to the internet so you can stream YouTube and Netflix. You can also mirror view your phone. To sit in bed a stream Netflix would have been awesome! Apart from that, a great place with decent rates. This place operates self check in/out, which I enjoy.

Fantastic spot, had a lovely time. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend for anyone staying in the area. Beds were comfortable and showers were clean. You can walk around to restaurants closeby

How many adjectives can I use to explain our experience with this magnificent establishment? Beautiful, classy, pristine, welcoming, warm! It is a step back in time in the right way. They have encapsulated the essence of what the early 1900s may have been like with the bar staff being spot on, cheerful and skilled. The decor is grand, making you picture the pastimes grandeur. The pool and gym area are to die for and it takes on a different feel when u are beneath ground level. Our two bedroom suite was no less than perfect in every way. Bed comfy and huge, bathrooms on point. Even with a 12 yr child in tow, we were never made to feel less than welcomed and special. No road noise, no neighbouring sounds. Even the gentleman doing the early morning cleanup on the entrance was pleasant and helpful. Will return next time we visit Christchurch.

We had a great stay. We were upgraded to a three bedroomed suite which was perfect. The suite was really spacious and had everything we needed. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly too. Went to the dinner buffet at the restaurant. Came out way too full! The selection was wonderful and the service was great. The food was done very well especially the roasted pork ribs. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend especially if you have a family.

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights just recently, first arrived at the hotel, the reception was polite enough but not as helpful as any front desk staff coud be. The room was clean and comfy, location was fantastic, environment was superb (quite, few hote guests). But somehow my wife lost her wedding ring from our room. We only noticed by the end of the day, and should have picked up earier. Mr. ************, the hotel manager, made it even worse from a travellers point of view. He has the worse attitude to the whole incident, instead of offering his empathy, he pushed responsibility back to the hotel guests who lost the wedding ring in his room at his hotel. His passive aggression is throughout all the poor google review! He reacted bluntly when questioned about CCTV other than the door access record he could provide immediately, being agreesive at his answer and attitude towards to someone who turned over the room to just look for the missing ring. He was not friendly, empathatic nor welcoming despit he is in hospitality industry. Im not blaming at anyone here or making any accusation on anyone but he as the hotel manager was the only one we could seek help for in a foreign country, and he expected us undedstanding how police and system worked here. To us, he made us sound like *****s and being forgetful on our own properties.

My room was not cleaned up despite me putting up a door notice for housekeeping for the day. When I returned to my room in the evening, I was told to my surprise that my booking did not include housekeeping. The website of Breakfree at Cashel mentioned housekeeping is available. I was not informed that my booking omitted this service. Furthermore, I was told to collect new towels by myself at the counter. I just don't feel the hotel is not up to the mark in this aspect. Other things I am not quite happy about is that the room space is too small for easy packing and unpacking of my luggage but I suppose I get what I paid for, which is ok. I have decided to move to other hotel for the rest of my journey in Christchurch for the above reasons .
