We just tried to make the booking on 22/10/2022 and luckily there were still available rooms. We were pretty in a rush that day as we accidentally got our booking canceled in another hotel (not IHG Hotel) and were planning to visit Blackpool. But it seemed that hotels in Blackpool were quite expensive, being unaffordable for students like us haha. So we decided to look for a hotel in Preston and thankfully we got such a fantastic IHG hotel. The staff was quite nice and friendly. We asked for a toothbrush in the morning of the second day and just received it immediately from reception after the call. Positive impression. We did not use many of the facilities, as we just had a buffet (British breakfast) at the second day in the morning. Food is delicious and healthier food and green vegetables were also provided. Really appreciate it as a person who really loves eating vegetables more than meat haha.

Stay away from this Hotel, like you would the plague, SERIOUSLY!!! I booked a 3 night stay at St Andrew's House Hotel, from the 7 February 2020 on wards, in an attempt to have a peaceful and comfortable stay, although, I couldn't have booked a worse Hotel!!!! I was kept awake all night long, from banging noises from above me and squeaky floor boards. Earlier in the evening when I heard noise, I was hoping it would settle down as the evening went on, however, it didn't, and so when it got to 3:38am I decided to call the emergency number for the Hotel, although, to my shocking surprise there was no answer and my call was not returned by either one of the Hoteliers I was only told when I had got to the Hotel that I was being put in a room were the shower was not working correctly. Phil said I would need to put the hot water on in the sink, then put the shower on and then I could turn the hot water off in the sink. I did this, however, the shower was not hot then, so I had to keep the hot water on in the sink, for the whole duration of my shower. The shower also kept coming on for 3 seconds and then went off again, repeatedly, until I had finished the shower. I asked for a refund for the 3 night stay, minus offering £10, to cover the laundry costs. Lorraine said in an off way, that it will cost them £15 for the laundry and extra for getting cleaners in, as well. She said she did not want to refund me for that night. I said I was not happy about this, I was very polite in how I handled the situation, but I felt that Lorraine had a very rude manner. Phil told Lorraine that he would give Lorraine the money back and he went ahead, to refund me back to my card. The refund receipt was dated the 8 February and to date (19 February), I have still not received a refund. I have tried to contact the hotel for the past 4 days, by calling them, but there has been no answer. I have left a voicemail, asking them to call me back, however, I have not been called back. I sent the Hotel an email on the 17 February and I have not received a response to this, as yet, My dad rung and spoke with Lorraine today at 12:54pm, to ask her nicely about my refund, she said that they had already refunded me. She said that she was out at the time, but that she would call my dad back when she got back to the Hotel, to which she never. I rung tonight and I spoke with Phil, he too, said that I had been refunded and I said I had not been. He also said that World Pay were the organisation that they use to deal with their refunds. I then contacted my bank and they said that it can take anything from 3-6 weeks to get a refund from them. I was very shocked at this, because Hotels usually refund customers directly, within anything up to, but not extending, 5 working days and the Hoteliers did not warn me of such a delay, either!!!! I rung the Hotel back again, as soon as Phil answered the phone, I heard Lorraine in the background, saying to Phil, to

This was great for why we needed it. We wanted somewhere to spend the night after a full day of travelling. We also had a dog with us and the hotel were very accommodating for this. (Extra points). We had also got the breakfast package which was pretty decent. There was a wide range of food choices which was great as I can be a fussy eater. The place was pretty clean and the staff were very welcoming. The only real complaint that we have is the beds. They are so hard and not very comfortable. It was on par with lying on a concrete block. Despite this I do feel that everything else outweighed this, however one night would be my limit as my body felt broken the next day from the bed.

I've been staying here regularly while working nearby over the past 12 months. The rooms are spacious and well decorated with the usual things like kettle etc. The fridge is a great feature as is the large TV which has on demand channels available. The lobby area is very large and decorated to a high standard. Almost all the seating areas have power sockets, so there's no need to worry about a dying phone or laptop battery letting you down. The hotel provides free WiFi all through the building and is very reliable. The hotel team are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. They are quick to deal with any issues you may have during your stay. I always look forward to staying here and being well looked after by a great team of staff.

When we arrived the barrier was down. We had to do that awkward thing of move the car over as far as you can and then stretch to reach the button to contact staff. Unfortunately the staff member who answered the gate intercom was a little hard to understand and she cut us off rather abruptly with the gate still remaining down. We pressed again and the gate allowed access. We checked in and I advised that I had already paid online via paypal. The staff advised that any payment was not an actual payment rather a hold - I would still need to pay again. If you use paypal you will know it takes several days to show on your account so I could neither prove nor disprove their claims. We got to our room and were pleased to be in an annexe as there was a wedding going on. Nice room size etc kettle, coffee machine, mugs, tea and biscuits. I checked in the bathroom for glasses and there were none available - I would assume that a hotel charging over £100 per night would at least supply plastic cups or proper glasses to drink water from. There was plenty of storage available and a decent hairdryer. The shower was nice - however the glass door was not long enough to prevent significant amounts of water hitting the floor - the bath mat was sodden. The shower tray and grout work as well as an area near the radiator had mould/blackening to it. There was also a random hole in the ceiling - possibly an old leak? The food was great although it took a while to arrive. I did ask for mild peppercorn sauce and no mushrooms - my food arrived with mushrooms and no peppercorn sauce. We left the restaurant believing that the meal would be added to the room - a member of staff followed us out advised that many people may have sat at the table and they needed a room number (this was given when we arrived at the restaurant) and could we pay now?!; perhaps they need a better booking/checking system in place? We then went through to the bar there were several tables which had been left with glasses on them. They were only removed when we sat at one of these tables, the table remained unwiped. The two staff on didn't come over to see if we wanted more drinks and didn't interact with other people who were hovering also intending to purchase drinks. I eventually took my chair and sat in front of the bar waiting for the staff to return from a patrol; neither asked if they could help so I shouted over. I believe this is indicative more of a lack of training in customer service than rudeness. Children from the wedding were becoming a nuisance by this point and were pretty much unchallenged by staff. They were running in and out, up and down stairs taking milk from the fridges and leaving plastic rings on the floor. They made enough noise to be heard on at least the first floor as the fire doors were help open by magnets. In our room we hoped for peace and quiet only to be left disappointed by music echoing over from the wedding - this finished just before midnight. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. The gym was lovely and quiet at 8am although the sauna hadn't quite heated up when we headed in there around 8.40ish. Breakfast was mostly tasty - the black pudding lacked any flavour - the scrambled eggs and hash browns were great. The tea was the wrong colour and tasted like very cheap teabags. There were bits of chips on the floor from the food service the night before.

GGuest User 2022.08.20
We stay here quite regularly - not because the hotel is fabulous but because it's the only one in the area which has proper king sized beds available, and because the location is perfect as we are driving down the A6. They don't do weddings either which means you dont have all that noise to contend with. Hopefully now it's being rebranded this update will continue throughout the interior. The rooms are very dark and dated. There was a slight issue when we arrived as my message did not seem to have got through to say we needed a ground floor room due to mobility issues and by the time we arrived they had all been allocated and most of the lifts are currently being replaced, but the reception girls quickly got that sorted and gave us a family room with 2 double beds. The mattresses were in dire need of replacement - terribly saggy and one of them had a huge dip in the middle making them extremely uncomfortable. The duvets are horrendously heavy. There is no need to have something so heavy as you can get a good amount of heat from a much lighter weight duvet. I struggled to move under it as it weighed down so much and I have arthritis in my shoulder making it almost impossible to turn over. We did ask at reception for something lighter and were given sheets to use instead but the weather turned a bit cooler so the sheet was just too thin. I cannot imagine how the cleaning staff cope with changing the covers on these monstrosities daily when people check out. The cost of the 3 night stay for us was around £450 for room only. Extremely expensive. If we had booked B&B it would have been over £500. I do realise the spa/pool etc is probably covered in this price but perhaps a different price bracket to include or disclude the amenities might be a better idea as we were only basing ourselves there to sleep, and go out and about all day. The only other issue we had, which was of no fault of the hotel in any way, was the way some other guests had no concept of the amount of noise they make nor did they seem to care. We were wakened regularly to doors being let slam shut rather than gently closed at very early hours (there were a lot of workmen/businessmen staying) and in the room directly above us there was at least one child who sounded as if they were using the bed as a trampoline to bounce off of, onto the floor with a massive thud then run up and down the floor constantly from 6am each of the mornings.

GGuest UserI initially booked and paid for this stay back in January but due to ill health I could no longer stay. The stay was put on credit for me and less than a week ago I got in touch asking if it was possible to use the stay this weekend just gone due to a mishap with calendar clashes. With no issues or delays, it was instantly organised for myself and my partner to stay there, and our room was even upgraded a larger room which was available at short notice. I questioned late at night when I arrived where I could park due to uncertainties with signage, and was immediately advised whilst I was still in the car! We stayed in the Lime Tree room and it was beautiful! Very modern, thoroughly clean, and there were even tea, coffee, milk, bottled water and snacks available which was a great finishing touch and a saving grace for the unorganised! The bed was extremely comfortable, the bedding is great hotel quality too. We will be regularly visiting Preston for our sport as we compete in a local Strength & Performance gym, and we absolutely will be back. It’s definitely made us rethink about driving up and down the country on the day, and put us at ease after previous bad experiences. Winkley Square Residences is the place to stay if you are ever in Preston, located in a lovely area, and an even nicer place to rest your head, run by very helpful and genuinely nice people. Hats off to you guys👍🏼

Breakfast was mostly tasty - the black pudding lacked any flavour - the scrambled eggs and hash browns were great. The tea was the wrong colour and tasted like very cheap teabags. There were bits of chips on the floor from the food service the night before.

GGuest UserThis was great for why we needed it.

GGuest UserPARKING A NIGHTMARE I wish I had read the reviews & seen the photos on parking. It clearly states small cars only, but sorry it should state TINY CARS ONLY WITH ADVANCED DRIVING/PARKING CERTIFICATION. It took a lot of patience & inch by inch manoeuvring to park. Once parked we decided to taxi to & from our Fostering course. BEWARE Hotel has people living here (asylum seekers) appearing in pj's!!! Woman this morning came down in pj's to bring son to car presumably to take him to school! Smells in corridors suggest cooking in rooms possibly. Area very dodgy...don't go wandering at night as red-light street around corner! NO GOOD FOR DISABLED IF LIFT OUT OF ORDER no ground floor bedrooms, reception & bar/restaurant (more cafe...not much choice/out of stock) on 2nd floor. Carpark 1st floor with no access to hotel until registered as key card needed...so must walk down carpark ramp which is only entrance & exit for cars so dangerous for pedestrians especially at night. Bedrooms on 2nd, 3rd & 4th floors access by lift if working or lots of stairs. HOTEL DISMAL Cannot believe it cost us just under £200 for 3 nights no food included for such a dismal place. Plus they charge parking per night, unless disable badge that we luckily have. Bar/restaurant not great. Room okish (basic) but smells getting to room yak. No hairdryer in room, only 2 towels, no separate hand towel, & no shower mat. Staff lovely. But on reflection WORST stay ever. Will never stay in a travelodge again...Premier Inns have never let us down plus provide 4 towels + shower mat & hairdryer, so will use them instead. Sorry 😞 cannot recommend. Please see photos provided of illustrious view & crystal maze carpark. GOOD LUCK if you stay here.
