GGuest UserThis is not a review of the hotel but our experience of the customer service provided by Rooms at Riversedge Golden prior to arrival, specifically around information given about significant highway closures which can at best be described as selective, at worst deceitful/inaccurate/untruthful. Anybody considering booking this accommodation between September 25 to October 6 should be aware that the main route (highway 1) to/from Golden is closed both ways. The alternate route will add at least 2 hours to your journey to/from Golden. This hotel believes this is an acceptable alternative for guests who they know full well will be visiting several of the attractions in the area, all of which will be inaccessible during this time. The hotel did not inform us of this road closure. Instead we received the below information after we had booked in August: “Thank you once again for booking with us! For those guests travelling eastbound to Golden from Calgary, please be advised that there is construction on the Trans-Canada Highway just outside of Golden. Guests can expect minor delays during the day, up until 10:00pm (MT), at which time the highway closes. The highway remains closed throughout the night until 7:00am, and requires guests to take an alternate route. Should you have any questions or would like additional information we ask you to contact guest services at 250-272-1212.” Nowhere does it state the highway would be closed during our booking period. This information I found out myself the day before our arrival when planning our route. No refund was offered so I feel no choice to leave a negative review due to insufficient communication given to us about the highway closure during our specific planned dates of stay. It would not be asking too much for someone at this accommodation to inform guests who had booked during the period of the highway closure the true facts.

What can I say about the Motel Happy Salmon, for a start is is not near Salmon Arm, but a drive away. It is situated at a place called Canoe, which has no facilities at all. It is also a 2 km drive from the lake, which is across the main road in Canoe and has a small General Store and a sometimes (I imagine) open bar /restaurant but not when we passed by. The room obviously once had a functioning kitchen, but no more, and this was made very obvious by the threatening signs and cable clips securing the cupboards. I have never encountered a hotel/motel room with so many warning signs of fines if you disobey. It made us frightened boil a kettle (we had our own teabags). The small shower was OK once we worked out the functioning. The bed was clean and comfortable but the room looked as if it had been furnished from a Thrift Store.

Very nice place in downtown Revelstoke. Prices are reasonable. Rooms have all you really need, Beds are comfy. Nice and clean units. It is quiet except the train but they don't run much at night. Walking distance to restaurants. Close to Trans Canada Highway. They include a box breakfast, but have juices, yogurts and coffee tea available. We enjoyed our stay there, staff is friendly. We will be back on our next travel. Make sure you reserve, there are not too many units available and it filles up fast, especially in the summer or winter season.

MMike PirieFound this Gem in a last-minute search for a place to stay in the mountains. We only stayed one night, unfortunately, but would definitely return if we find ourselves in the Rockies again. The room was clean and comfortable for 4 adults. Great views, Love the communal concept of the kitchen & fire pit. Great way to meet new people. Easy to find & not far from the amenities of the town of Golden. Not sure if this furry friend is a full time resident or not but, sure was friendly!

GGuest UserWe stayed at the Palliser Lodge in room 212. Check-in was at the Glacier which they don't tell you ahead of time. The condo is a small one bedroom facing the hill. There is no view because the hill slopes up quickly behind the building. The room was big enough for my wife and I. Frying pans were disgusting. The rest of the condo was well stocked. The ski storage room was full so we had to store our skis in our vehicle. There is a small hot tub which is looking old. You want to have the jets running so you don't see the condition of the water. For some reason we were the only ones who used the hot tub all weekend. :) The cost per night was very high and not worth it considering the size, view and overall condition of the unit.

I would give this hotel a zero if I could, but the 1 star is for the front desk only. They were professional and nice and accommodating, but the cleaning staff needs to be fired. I’m surprised the health authority hasn’t been called. Doors don’t close tightly and latch to lock doesn’t work, the toilet isn’t sealed on the floor so You breathe in sewer smells, the walls are peeling and disgusting, I wiped the surfaces of both bathroom and table and TV cabinet and all had disgusting dirt on them. The beds…pull out a sheet of plywood and throw a sleeping bag on it and you’ll have just as much comfort!! Horrible!! One light in the whole room so dingy and dark. The hot tub was “under maintenance” the whole time so never got to use it and apparently this happens a lot according to reviews. The pool is supposed to be heated to 26 degrees of which it was not, glacial water is warmer. The pool area was disgusting!! The bathroom floors were nasty!! There was 1 bottle of shampoo for a family! For 250.00 a night if my hard-earned money could have been better accommodations! I will never stay here again and I won’t be recommending it to anyone!! No point in complaining to staff because according to reviews they don’t care. I’m thinking this is owner run, they don’t want to spend the money to repair/clean/fix up, run the hot tub, or heat the pool! Never again!! Oh and the vending machine is constantly down apparently, probably can’t afford to fill it.

GGuest UserI think that a hotel with good value for money is also the happiest one for children. The hotel has free parking, breakfast, the most important hot pool and swimming pool with large water slides. Children like it very much, but the room is quite good, but the room is quite good. Very clean, bathing hot water is very good. There is a Chinese restaurant around. The service staff is very patient and enthusiastic.

The lady at the check in desk was very polite and helpful. I asked for and extra towel and she gave us one. The room was a bit older but updated with laminate flooring which was nice. The chair was a bit stained but didn't bother us. It was nice to find a reasonably priced motel in Golden on a quiet street. Bed was comfortable. Would stay here again. G Lo

Highly overpriced for what you get. A 20 inch TV., one bath towel per room and Ketchup packet style shampoo/conditioner and $40 extra per night for a small dog. Also be careful, prices for rooms they seem too vary depending on who you are. Was in the lobby and heard rooms being charged out as low as $116 to high of $189. We paid $159+40 for dog plus taxes and our room was in the older part, nothing special. They have posted on sites dogs are $20 but not the case, be careful. Old motel which has been tastefully updated to a point. Clean rooms and grounds are well kept, to a point. Don't look too close or you will see the open garbage stored behind the fence, the indoor pool with scum on it, the make shift wiring, and do it yourself fixes. But on the up side, its in a great location, nice outdoor pool, friendly staff, pet friendly and would consider staying again if the price was right for what you get.
