In the evening, he invites guests to drink tea and taste his own papaya vinegar, pickled plums and lemons. The boss's wife is beautiful and gentle. The only drawback is that the room on the first floor where I stayed is relatively dark, and I have to turn on the lights during the day. But compared to the price, it is still worth it."

"The hotel is modeled after a Beijing courtyard house and looks great in photos. The owner said it opened this year and is completely new, seemingly renovated from the former office compound. The floors and main structure are over a decade old, and the wall paintings are probably new, so there's no smell. It's much cleaner and tidier than most B&Bs. The owner's wife personally cleans everything, taking care of every detail. The owner and his wife are incredibly friendly and welcoming. There are two tea areas where you can chat and enjoy the fresh air. One neighbor mentioned staying at another B&B in the ancient city and finding it less pleasant, and they agreed. There's even a glass room upstairs for drying clothes. The hotel is very close to the Dafu Farmers Market, making it convenient for buying fruit and other things. It's a short cut to the ancient city, only about five or six minutes away. Our family of five stayed for nine nights and was very comfortable. It was a truly wonderful stay. Oh, and I highly recommend staying on the second floor for better ventilation! This place is nothing special; it's simply because the owner and his family are so kind. I was very early booking in, the room I booked was not ready to be occupied so the team at reception upgraded my room. Reception also booked a taxi for me when I departed. The whole display makes people feel like they are in a Bai courtyard. In the afternoon, I brewed a pot of Pu'er and sat on the tatami in front of the window. The setting sun sprinkled warmly from the window and covered my body, which was very comfortable. The girls at the front desk were very enthusiastic. The common areas are well-designed, with a fireplace that brings warmth on cold winter nights, plus a self-service kitchen and washing machine. The rooms feature 'Xiao Du' smart controls, automatic flush toilets, and a wonderfully comfortable hot shower on winter evenings. There's also air conditioning in the room, so it never gets too cold. Cleanliness: The guesthouse staff are incredibly diligent, starting their cleaning early every morning. The common areas are spotless, and the rooms are also kept very clean and tidy. Environment: The environment looks exactly like the photos, with tasteful design. Though the courtyard is small, it's very pleasant, offering delightful photo opportunities everywhere. The guesthouse's location is also excellent, situated on the edge of the ancient city, accessible by car, so you don't have to drag your luggage up hills through the pedestrian-only ancient town streets. It's right next to Mengyang Park, close to the Confucius Temple and Chongzheng Academy (which houses a popular bookstore). Service: The guesthouse owner and their team are incredibly warm and attentive. Breakfast is arranged at several famous restaurants within the ancient city, all well-known, long-standing establishments. The guesthouse also recommends other highly-rated restaurants for lunch and dinner."
