The machine is in the dining room but you are not allowed to enter unless it is for breakfast. The door is not locked and there are no signs, but if you enter you rate told off rudely by the very officious staff. Apparently only they can use the machine. I dutifully did what I was told and queued at reception every every to get some hot water for tea. One evening the staff member was not there. I made the mistake of entering the open dining room to get water myself. Suddenly he appeared and demanded rudely that I leave the room immediately. He told me that I had to go to reception. I suggested that he wasn’t there and he told me rudely that he was. In a country of poor customer service, this interaction was special! I have cancelled my next booking and will stay in the Mercure instead. They are really quite nice there. So if you want to sleep in a small room and be watched in case you steal some hot water in a paper cup….best avoided.
