I was desperate for a hotel in Shrewsbury but got let down so I came across this delightful pub with rooms omg I booked 2 rooms for myself and elderly mum we had a lovely 2 night stay here the beds were comfortable beautiful pillows great shower white stuff toiletries a fresh carafe of water plenty of tea coffee ect amazing breakfast we couldn't fault anything very peaceful surroundings and we dined in the restaurant twice you can tell the quality of the food used by local farmers we will definitely return the staff were so friendly and helpful thank you for an amazing break

We stayed here for the evening for my birthday, and from start to finish the customer service was excellent. Everyone had a smile on their face, and could not do enough for us. The room was lovely and spacious, very comfy bed and pillows. Food was excellent, hot and tasty. There was so much choice at breakfast too. We also enjoyed the added bonus of the leisure facilities We will definitely be back. Thank you.

Great location just off the M54, easy to find and excellent free parking for guests. The hotel is modern and pleasant and the staff are really friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely with a king size bed, large tv, coffee machine and mini fridge, plenty of phone charging sockets and something I miss in a lot in hotels these days; a small dressing table area. The bathroom was spacious with a large walk in shower. We only stayed one night but wish it had been longer. The breakfast area was large and spacious with a great selection of cereals, pastries, fruit, yogurt, cheese and cold meets along with a wonderful selection for a cooked breakfast. I'm just sorry that we didn't have time to use the spa facilities which looked excellent. I can't recommend the hotel enough!

The hotel staff were very friendly, but the quality of the room was dated. There was hair in my plug hole and the towels were dirty but only noticed once I had come out of the shower so had to use a hand towel instead! Only stayed one night as was at a conference but stayed here before and this was my second experience of being less than impressed. The corridor also smelt of smoke which was not very nice. Bed was ok, not the best nights sleep… I think next time I will stay somewhere else

Having read some recent negative reviews I was not expecting much but from my scores it was first class. Good easy to get to place and just a short walk to the main town, we arrived early but were able to check in - very friendly reception staff and gave us all the information we needed. All areas from reception to bar and corridors were well presented and clean and modern look, the room on ground floor was a good size with all facilities required [ nice touch Steph the house keeper left a lovely note ] We had a window which opened and nice green space looking towards a park. very quiet room. Leisure facilities were first class and not over busy (you did have to book the pool but not an issue}. Service at the bar was quick and staff very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was very good with good selection of hot and cold food. One stand out point was the hotel was well staffed which helped make for a first class experience.

Decent location for one night stopover. Staff were friendly and efficient.
Room pretty basic but all okay for what we paid.
Downfall was the noise early morning, being woken to trucks beeping and reversing at 7am on a Sunday isn't my idea of a good night's sleep (which is all we really needed, this was the followed by trolleys clanking and banging, so think this is a real downfall to what should have been a nice little stopover.
I advised the receptionist and she said it was the deliveries....which I understand are needed ....but not 7am on Sunday surely and if so some more thought for those sleeping.
Sadly this affected my overall rating as really you pay to have a good sleep but I didn't get that.

GGuest UserHaving read some recent negative reviews I was not expecting much but from my scores it was first class. Good easy to get to place and just a short walk to the main town, we arrived early but were able to check in - very friendly reception staff and gave us all the information we needed. All areas from reception to bar and corridors were well presented and clean and modern look, the room on ground floor was a good size with all facilities required [ nice touch Steph the house keeper left a lovely note ] We had a window which opened and nice green space looking towards a park. very quiet room. Leisure facilities were first class and not over busy (you did have to book the pool but not an issue}. Service at the bar was quick and staff very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was very good with good selection of hot and cold food. One stand out point was the hotel was well staffed which helped make for a first class experience.

We stayed here for the evening for my birthday, and from start to finish the customer service was excellent. Everyone had a smile on their face, and could not do enough for us. The room was lovely and spacious, very comfy bed and pillows. Food was excellent, hot and tasty. There was so much choice at breakfast too. We also enjoyed the added bonus of the leisure facilities We will definitely be back. Thank you.

GGuest UserGreat location just off the M54, easy to find and excellent free parking for guests. The hotel is modern and pleasant and the staff are really friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely with a king size bed, large tv, coffee machine and mini fridge, plenty of phone charging sockets and something I miss in a lot in hotels these days; a small dressing table area. The bathroom was spacious with a large walk in shower. We only stayed one night but wish it had been longer. The breakfast area was large and spacious with a great selection of cereals, pastries, fruit, yogurt, cheese and cold meets along with a wonderful selection for a cooked breakfast. I'm just sorry that we didn't have time to use the spa facilities which looked excellent. I can't recommend the hotel enough!

GGuest UserBook a room above a pub for a Friday night in August, and it’s caveat emptor, so I won’t complain about the loud, beer-fuelled, sweary conversations going on just below our charmingly single-glazed and ill-fitting window until past midnight. I will, though, about the staff having what sounded like their own drunken revelry whilst clearing up, not appreciating that sound travels upwards and in an old building you can hear EVERYTHING in the rooms whether coming from inside or outside. When they eventually departed around 1.30am, one mindfully said ‘can you be quiet: we have residents’, which his colleagues laughingly ignored, carrying on loudly yabbering, again, right below us. Banging doors inside ceased around 2am and started again at 6am. I’ll also note the pub’s outside lights, which shine into the room, not going off until around 1am, maybe later. Coming on the back of the hot water running out that evening when my bath had, oh, about four inches in it, it was only ever on for four stars. A magnificent breakfast could have rescued a third star (I have to recognise it’s good value at c.£50; one star would be unfair). It was very good, but took almost half an hour to arrive, so, sorry, two stars. And, to be fair, it was a very comfortable bed to lie awake in.

Room pretty basic but all okay for what we paid.
Downfall was the noise early morning, being woken to trucks beeping and reversing at 7am on a Sunday isn't my idea of a good night's sleep (which is all we really needed, this was the followed by trolleys clanking and banging, so think this is a real downfall to what should have been a nice little stopover.
I advised the receptionist and she said it was the deliveries....which I understand are needed ....but not 7am on Sunday surely and if so some more thought for those sleeping.
Sadly this affected my overall rating as really you pay to have a good sleep but I didn't get that.
