The trip started out poorly because Trip.com's payment was invalid. We had to text your staff for close to an hour before we could check into our room, so were late meeting our family members for lunch. The women at the front desk were terrific and were doing everything they could - they weren't able to give us a key until the payment was straightened out. So we weren't very happy with Trio.com's service. How could something like this happen, where your payment wasn't valid? I would like a discount on my next trip due to that problem.
Once we were in, the service was excellent. The room was clean and quiet. The bed was comfortable. The pool and hot tub were open until 10pm and were warm and clean. We loved soaking and swimming each evening after visiting with family.
The only curve ball was that the firepit wasn't operable. A man said it was due to the weather, but it had been clear and dry so that didn't make sense. Therefore, we had to drink our Christmas Eve Prosecco (which we bought at the hotel snack bar!) in the room, since it was too cold to sit outside without a firepit. Outside of that, it was a terrific visit and we would stay again.
We do hope that Trip.com makes good on the billing issue so we will use your site again.
We booked a vineyard view room at a higher price, but when I checked in and went to my room it didn’t have one. I phoned the front desk and was told they upgraded my room, but this room had a lot of issues. One, it was not far from the pool which is under construction and there was constant beeping from heavy equipment. Other issues were that the AC didn’t work; I set it to 68 (it would not set lower) and the temperature of the room never went below 72. Furniture was dated and the top of the bench in front of the bed was peeling. The coffee maker didn’t work and one of the lights in the bathroom was out. Also, they charge a $45 resort fee and the pool wasn’t even available. The staff was nice, but $650 a night for this was way too high. I like the area, but will look for a better place next time we visit.
My daughter and I were on a girls trip. We were going to Occidental for the event, but I wanted to stay somewhere that I could meet college friends easily as well. Found the Sandman and originally booked because we generally like boutique hotels! When I booked back in March of 2024, breakfast was included. Get to the hotel and find out that it no longer is. Guests have to purchase a $10 per person, per morning voucher for breakfast. I know it is extra effort, but it would have been courteous of the hotel to notify guests that booked prior to it being canceled. We also tried to enjoy the pool and hot tub but it was packed. We were able to get in and tried to relax a bit in the hot tub. Kids were in there shooting each other with water guns! I know the hotel has no control over what parents do, but some of the things happening at the pool just seemed very unsafe. The rooms were nice, but definitely not what was paid.

We recently stayed at Hotel E and I recommend it most highly. It’s a beautiful space with old world charm plus all the updates of the modern age. Entry, lobby, hallways and rooms are a beautiful, serene décor in light earth tones and spotlessly clean. The lobby bar is most enjoyable especially when something fun is going on across the small lane in Courthouse Square and Park. Rooms are on the small side but ours was perfect for a couple + a dog, which they accept for a small fee. And with the park across the street, there is no problem getting a non-leash-pooping dog to do his business. Take your pick-up bags, there are plenty of trash receptacles. The location is amazing with dozens of restaurants at your doorstep and less than a mile from the hospital which was the reason we were there. However, above all this loveliness is the amazing staff. Carmen and Tiffany are two standouts who did everything possible to go above and beyond expectations, including ensuring our car would be at the front door at 5:15am! I am Guest Services Director for a boutique hotel in Eureka California and if any of the staff would like to relocate, I’d hire them in a heartbeat! Do yourself a favor and stay at the Hotel E when you visit Santa Rosa, or hell, if you live there, go for a night of dining out and the Wednesday Night Market and Music on the Square.

Very friendly staff, allocating us a quieter room to recuperate from 30 hours in planes and transit – without us even asking for it! The room itself was large and very comfortable. I had seen pictures on the web with the sink in the room instead of in the bathroom – which seemed odd!? But it worked very well … Pleasant breakfast the next morning. Good location, easily within walking distance of the centre with many food options.

TTodemmySnoopy fans must visit!!
If you are a fan of Snoopy, how can you miss the birth and evolution of Snoopy. Originally I just liked Peanut comics, but when I came here, I was amazed at the author's inspiration from the ordinary in life to create various characters, scenes and dialogues in Snoopy comics that make people smile. This is also a good place to walk the kids, and the exhibition will be updated regularly. Although it is far away, I will definitely come again~~~
Safari West
1137***66We had a magical time. The staff amazing. The Animals amazing. The property amazing. We spent 3 nights which gave us 2 full days. Our first day we did the 8am behind the scenes tour. This was early and cold however I think it was the best time as the animals were fresh and ready for feeding. The giraffe experience will bring tears of joy to all. The food for breakfast was advertised as continental breakfast however there were eggs. The protein was appreciated. Dinner was plentiful and tasty. You are close to Calistoga and St Helena if you want a little wine tasting.
Museum of Sonoma County
MM32***23We stopped by to view the current temporary show, the Three friends. A combination of modern painting, sculpture and multimedia creations, this is a delightful exhibit. We were particularly attracted to Jack Stuppin's work: it is so happy and easy to like. However, the works of Robert Hudson and Richard Shaw are of considerable quality and deserved to be enjoyed. You can probably take in the entire exhibit in an hour.
Luther Burbank Home & Gardens
MM32***23A small but significant garden and history walk. Well labeled, constantly being improved and valued by the city. Worth going to for a short walk in a beautiful garden, and a bit of history.
