This place is beautiful and very clean but I didn’t like how guests could hear each other on their room that was a bad experience I can only imagine if children were around 😏

This is a must when spending time in Clarens and surrounding areas. Gerrit and Francois created a perfect spot to be at home away from home. The under-floor heating, pure luxury!!

Our stay at Clarens Retreat was very pleasurable. We were looked after very well. All the staff there were very pleasant and really helpful which helped to make our stay a very pleasant experience, our unit was very well laid out and spotless.. We stay 3 nights June 11th to 14th and we would not hesitate to go back. We had a Meal in the restaurant which was excellent. An excellent stay from being w elcomed to when we left. We have been hosting our Canadian family here in Clarens and we were all pleasantly surprised! The rooms were warm and the house we had to ourselves was exactly what we needed. The fire place was lit when we arrived on a cold winter’s day and in the extra room, the underfloor heating was already switched on. The electric blankets were much needed. Everything was very tasteful and clean. The coffee, tea and rusks were a nice surprise! Thanks for a lovely stay!

Hi Service was excellent and room well equipped for the cold. The accommodation was well located in town and an easy walk into the square. We loved the attention to detail in the room. Shower nozzle and pressure was disappointing for the high standards of the room overall and I would encourage them to look in to it.

It feels so homey, with the little kitchen area. I loved it so much. Its clean and tidy, with everything you need. i would have loved a heater though, I'm a Durbanite and we're not used to such temperatures.
