We had another hotel cancel on us (OYO Earl Shilton, we arrived to find it boarded up!), and were desperately trying to find another in the vicinity. The Halfway Hotel was the only one that didn't try to force us to book two separate rooms for three adults. The room was large, had all of the amenities you would expect from a hotel room, and had a second entrance directly from the car park which was conveniently located for the rooms at the rear of the hotel.

This hotel is perfect for anyone visiting The Emporium.
Everything one needs and only five minutes away.
The young lady on reception/bar was really friendly and chatty and was a joy to be served by .

Great value for money and a stones throw from the emporium. I was pleasantly surprised, the rooms are clean, nice bar area and it was remarkably quiet, there's always parking. Booked again for October 2024. Nice staff and coffee/tea just more than we expected very happy, hopefully October is the same :)

I am still waiting for a full refund. We booked for 2 nights but only ended up staying for 1 night.
We couldn’t vacate the building as the fire escapes were locked. The exit button did not activate the door. There was no one on site to assist.
After phoning, we were directed to an alternative exit marked also as ‘fire exit’. However, to exit, an electric button was also required. The push bar did not open the door. Quite a traumatic experience!
