Our experience here is always so lovely, the reception/manager named Sian is always so helpful and kind. We got married at this venue and it was the best day of our lives!!! We stayed here a year on and they made our stay so special, we will definitely be returning.

Lovely 14th century hotel, staffed by excellent friendly, helpful staff. Added bonus of free parking.Our breakfasts were included and were some of best we've had. The full breakfast is cooked to order and comes out piping hot. Much better than a hot buffet. Staff happy to accommodate personal preferences, example I dont like crispy bacon, and my 'soft' bacon was perfect. Yasmin was a delight, first thing in morning, cheerful, helpful and inflammable. Rowen was the perfect reception staff to greet new arrivals during the day. The young lady on reception in evenings was also lovely, friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we didn't notice her name. Rooms clean and comfortable, nice to find a fan, as it was rather warm during our stay. The complementary cookies on reception were a nice touch and tasty. It's a good 15minute uphill walk into city centre, which some people may find d a struggle, but there does seem to be plenty of buses running both ways.

Booked a wake. What a rip off £20 per head for three items. So a couple of chicken satay sticks, a slice of quiche and a couple of sandwiches per person for that price. Phoned to query after an e mail querying the booking, we’d booked already. Spoke to Tatiana who clearly had absolutely zero empathy for the newly bereaved barking down the phone and cutting a potential customer off!! Glad I cancelled as a hugely better deal was found. Avoid this place like the plague. Rude arrogant staff member who is not an asset to her trade.

Atmospheric hotel. Good breakfast. Helpful receptionist. Modernised bathroom. Good value for money.Free car park. Easy ( but steep) walk to town. Recommended the Thai restaurant close by and food was excellent, beautifully presented and inexpensive.

My daughter had wedding here 8th aug great time staff friendly rooms very clean amazing venue wedding was beautiful ty rose and crown for making my daughter and her new husbands day very special we all had a great time thankyou so much again xx

I stay in a lot of hotels for work but never before a Great Western and now I know why. 1. I've never seen a single/standard room with a single bed..all Premier Inns and Travelodges have doubles. 2. Restaurant available for breakfast only..no lunch or dinner. 3. Shower has huge gap between glass screen and bathroom, resulting in a soaking floor and soggy toilet roll. 4. In the 21st century, I'd expect to get BBC1, ITV and C4 but I'd be wrong...22 shopping channels though. 5. Spoke to male receptionist this morning to ask for directions to nearest newsagents..he couldn't understand me and had no idea...turns out there is one next door to the hotel...shocking. 6. No air conditioning..fun on the hottest weekend of the year in a tiny room...the complimentary fan does nothing. I will never stay at a Worst Western again
