The rooms are really good. You might have to change the tram twice to reach the center. Staff is very friendly and tries to help you in every situation.

It's a shame that the location is a bit out of the way, but the neighborhood was quiet and nice.

Your typical 3 star business hotel ideally located for access to Köln Messe and easy access to city center via public transport. Room was clean and staff friendly. The bar is enough for a quick drink and light meal if you don’t want to go to the city, which would be a shame! Only small comments is that there was no safe in the room and no electric sockets near the bed to charge the phone.

Hotels in the Cologne trade fair district live off their income. I have tried several over the years and the characteristics are always the same: minimal cleaning - if not downright lacking - uncomfortable beds, shabby rooms and last but not least, high prices (one could delude oneself that by spending a certain amount of money one is entitled to quality). The ibis Köln Messe hotel is no exception. These characteristics are all respected: dirty room floor and dusty shelves when we arrived, shower drain blackened probably some time ago, uncomfortable mattresses and toppers, greyish and smelly linen, one (sic) shower towel per person (no face towels), three-star hotel prices but two-star quality and performance. Could we ask to change rooms? Maybe, but during the IEM Cologne days it was highly probable that the hotel was full and that the other rooms were in the same condition. I would add that the much vaunted respect for the environment also benefits hoteliers above all: the customer's renunciation of daily cleaning means a saving on staff costs. It was convenient for me because I worked in the room every morning, but an alternative time could be proposed if the customer needs the room cleaned-tidied up, even just to empty the bins (not even equipped with bags) and replenish toilet paper or change the towels. Having stayed 4 nights, the lack of cleaning is felt. Finally, I find it disadvantageous for the customer not to have even a hot drinks dispenser, in the absence of a kettle in the room. Those who do not need breakfast or do not want to pay 18 euros for breakfast in the hotel have no choice. There is a bar on the ground floor, but why should I wait for the graces of the staff at the bar to drink a coffee that I cannot even take to my room?

Terrible in everything, location, cleanliness, services, gastronomic offer. The restaurant, if you can call it that, has 2 soups, 2 frozen pizzas and 2 salads on the menu. Considering that there are no other places to eat in the area, I would offer something more. ABSOLUTE ZERO

I have stayed in this hotel many times, especially during Carnival. Up until then everything was fine, but for the last two years the Ibis chain Mega seems to have gone downhill. The service in the hotel, reception area was overwhelmed with bookings. There were three staff members, one of whom was new. It took half an hour to get checked in and another 8 travelers were waiting. The hotel management was briefly outside and then quickly disappeared back into the office, help, work was quickly gone. In the restaurant there were three different ready-made pizzas. The waiter was super nice and quick! The rooms here are much too small. There is more space in the Ibis budget!

Long waiting times at the check-in desk (even if check-in had already been done online to speed up the process); I don't understand why once you have my credit card in your systems for every activity (purchasing water at the bar, breakfast) I have to go to the desk again to pay. The lady at the entrance to the breakfast room is very rude in handling the customer if he has to pay for breakfast separately (as in my case). The room was not made up even though someone came in and only tidied up the towels without cleaning the bathroom and making the bed.

Everything was perfect, service and cleanliness, and the price was good. The reception was good. The location was good. The view was nice. The place was quiet. The breakfast was delicious. I will rebook a room again because I liked it. It was a nice experience to book every time. I will be happy because of the service.

Very good hotel with good value for money. The staff were all very friendly and the breakfast was well stocked. Our room was clean. Great hotel, with great staff and a delicious breakfast! Location: The hotel is practically right next to the trade fair. It takes 5-10 minutes to walk to the relevant entrances, but it is still quiet at night, even with the window open. The Messe/Deutz train station, which is right next to the trade fair, is also 5-10 minutes away on foot. If you want to walk a little longer, you can walk directly to the cathedral in 30-40 minutes over the Hohenzollern Bridge.

This is the second time I have stayed at the Ibis Köln Messe. The welcome was very warm. I was given very precise information about when breakfast was served, where to find my room and much more. My room itself was very spacious with a large bed. It was clean and very quiet. I slept surprisingly well. The breakfast buffet was great. So much choice. There was even fresh fruit! The service staff were very attentive. Empty plates and bowls were constantly being refilled. Public transport is very easy to reach. You can even see the Lanxess Arena!
