Staybridge Suites Columbus-Dublin

We stayed at this hotel. It was OK. The one and only elevator on the property was very slow. It took forever waiting for the elevator to come. It’s unfortunately they didn’t even have two elevators at the property. Staying in your hotel room, you could smell food all up and down the hallway and also while you were in your hotel room, you could smell this food cooking in the other rooms. Because each room was a sweet with a little kitchenette. It was nice to have a kitchenette. But the kitchenette wasn’t clean, the garbage Wasn’t emptied when I checked in. The housekeeping forgot to empty it. Also, I had to have my room changed because the toilet seat in my hotel room cracked and the surface of it look like it was burnt. I didn’t want to sit on it it looked really dirty. It seems as though people stay at this property for months and months at a time which is fine, but it was extremely lived in and smelly, and there were a lot of dings and scrapes and broken things throughout the hotel. Dublin, Ohio is a very affluent area so this hotel was disappointing. I would not stay here again.

First the positive…..Front desk staff was WONDERFUL! Terrific location. Beautiful courtyard. Great breakfast selection & good coffee. Comfy bed. Not so positive…..Elevator not functioning during my 5 day stay. Luckily I had a 1st floor room. I mention this for future guests because it seems to be an ongoing issue. Laundry room & bbq area in courtyard, dirty, trash bins full. Trash on the ground. Lots of fruit flies in breakfast area, particularly by the juice machine. Floor by coffee area consistantly sticky during stay. Shoes made that sticky noise. Check-in issues, not major but annoying enough to mention… A/C thermostat was disabled in the room I was assigned. Manager didn’t know how to unlock it & no maintenance person available, so was moved to a different room. Smoke detector in that room beeped every 60 seconds. Again, no maintenance available, so was sent back to original room with no a/c. I was able to find a website explaining how to unlock thermostat and run a/c. So was able to tell the manager how to get it up and running. MAJOR issue….. I was zapped by the ice maker in the refrigerator in my room. Sent jarring pain through my hand, arm & shoulder. Hand was numb & arm hurt the rest of the day. Still feeling fuzzy mentally. Alerted front desk & they put in a work order for the day I was going to be checking out. Guests should not be getting electrocuted by hotel appliances. Housekeeping and maintenance issues should definitely be addressed. Unfortunately corporations run their hotels very understaffed which equals quality control issues. Very sad for existing staff. To Jasmine, you were such a sweet person and I’m sorry for such a negative review, but there were too many issues for me to leave a positive review. Your front desk staff was great. Hopefully your supervisor will see that these issues are staffing issues. Not personnel issues.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Unfortunately, the elevator was broken with no timeline for repair offered upon inquiry. Also, as noted by attached photos , the room was filthy and the sheets soiled . This hotel did not meet what I expect from an IHG property .

We originally booked a 2 bedroom suite for 3 nights.  Upon arrival to the room, we noticed that the floor and carpet was really sticky.  We shrugged it off, as the beds and everything else seemed clean.  Unfortunately, that did not remain our experience.   I finally got tired of the sticky floor, so my husband cleaned the entry area, and the towel came up black.  At one point, I also realized the carpet hadn't been vacuumed well when I found pieces of a fake nail.  When we went to use the silverware, there was old food stuck to several pieces.   The front door was also really hard to open because it was missing the door knob plate on the door frame. The final straw was when we noticed an odor on the couch when we sat on it.  After looking closely, we realized it was really stained (hard to see), and smelled heavily of animal urine. We checked out the next morning, because the room was too disgusting, and we didn't want our kids to stay there. 

An amazing hotel. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is beautiful. The amenities they have available for the guests are definitely over the top. Buffet style breakfast 7 days a week, dinner 3 nights a week which is all complimentary, free laundry you just need your own soap but if not then they have some you can purchase at a low cost. The rooms are mini apartments with all the amenities you could ever need for your stay. Full size refrigerator, stove, sink, microwave, breakfast bar, sectional couch, separate rooms etc

The recent renovation is beautiful. Higher end, yet still comfortable. Jason at the front desk was amazing! They had overbooked, but he quickly was able to rearrange reservations and set us up with the rooms we needed. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area as well. 5 stars to Jason! We had 2 issues. 1. The swimming pool was freezing. As we frequently stay at hotels, I understand that pools must be on the cool side (I think 82 degrees is required for health reasons). The kids were shivering and I was very cold (as a Polar Plunger, this means a lot). 2. The breakfast on our 1st morning there was terrible. We came to breakfast with one hour left in the service window, yet the staff had run out of all food except for a few sausage links ( out of omelets, eggs, sausage gravy). When asked, the staff said they had run out of food. That was it. No offer of a gift card to an area restaurant, no apology, nothing. The trash cans were overflowing in the breakfast area and even outside the main entrance. We left and bought breakfast at an area fast food restaurant. The area is terrific, it was nice to be able to walk to the gas station and the bar nearby.

The hotel was going through some needed renovation during our stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. Handicapped access during the renovation was a bit of a challenge. The room was nice and pretty clean, but we did see two ants crawling around. Nice breakfast in a makeshift facility. Not a bad overall experience.

Hotel was better than expected. Convenient location. Lots of places to eat and entertain. 2 bedroom suite was large and had 2 bathrooms. Hotel staff were accommodating and pleasant. Clean and currently being renovated. Wasn’t bothered by construction noise.
