The staff are very friendly but unfortunately the hotel is definitely not the 4 stars it claims to be. The bed/matresses are not 4 star quality, no amenities in the bathroom and very poor sound proofing (could hear conversations in room next door even with all doors/windows closed).
We stayed on an all inclusive basis and found the food selection to be very similar for the entire duration of our stay lacking variation.
Lastly, the evening entertainment will need to be improved. While this is not of great importance to us, I know that this is an important factor for many people seeking these types of accomodation/vacation.

I've stayed here many times - last time in september 2022. The staff at the reception are so lovely, and always give me a warm welcome and are otherwise very helpful. Early check-in, late check-out, room allocation, cant fault it - its usually no problem (depending on capasity of course). Stayed 2 nights this time, shortly after going to my room i got a lovely surprise delivered to the room. It was very much appreciated! Breakfast is wonderful, with everything you could desire. Staff there and in the pool bar was nice and helpful (minus one time at the pool bar, waited and did not get served). Im coming back in July this year, and cant wait!

Just got home from a week here. Very very nice hotel,everything is new and clean. Pool is not heated but I went in anyway,and the pool area is lovely with plenty of sun-beds for everyone. We were on the 3rd floor with great views of Puerto Rico. Sun almost all day. There are rooms with a jacuzzi below but they didn’t have the views like the higher rooms.Our room had a lovely balcony which we used a few nights after eating out. Just to sit with a drink and look out.There’s not a restaurant as such, but a great little pool bar that’s open till 4. Foods good and happy hour is 12-1. Staff we met were all very friendly. Dressed very smartly too. Housekeeping do an excellent job too.On our last night out, somehow managed to lose my room key.!! On check out explained to the young lady on the reception,expecting to pay a charge for this. But it wasn’t necessary which I thought was nice. I never lose anything so unsure how I managed to do it. Few cocktails too many maybe.. There are a lot of steps to/from the main streets/bars/shops, but you kinda get used to them. Taxis are quite cheap €3.85 on the meter. There’s a big market on a Friday in Mogan. Get the public bus 1 or 91 from down the bottom of town bus station. It costs €3.10 for two of us 1 way. Does get busy though, so you may have to stand up.

Arrived around midnight checked in smoothly and quickly, very efficient and friendly. We were in room 211, 1st floor. First impressions of the room were spacious and clean, bathroom consists of shower, toilet & double sinks, was always plenty of hot water. Bed consisted of two singles pushed together, good night's sleep, quite comfortable. Kitchen area ok, fridge could have done with being a bit bigger though. The balcony was a good size with table and chairs and a clothes drier. The hotel has a roof top solarium which we used most days with the addition of hot tub and showers which you can cool down in, brilliant up there overlooking the beach and resort. We only used the pool once during our stay as we preferred the solarium, area was kept clean, no sunbed wars. All staff we met were friendly and helpful. We had a lovely relaxing holiday and have booked to return next year.

The service was excellent, both in reception and restaurant, but the services in the facility were a bit unfavorable in the sense that personally, as I was with my pregnant wife, I had a room on the lowest floor the first day, everything was fine because there is an elevator, but The rest of the days they had them out of service, which in a place like that I think can't go wrong. The gym was a bit poor and the only machine that it had did not work well, the impossible parking on the second day was that I was able to get one and pay it to the hotel, when you go to make a reservation you will see a buffet breakfast option for €4 that does not exist lol. The rest all good. I think that services such as the elevator should be guaranteed to keep them in optimal conditions.

GGuest UserWhen we arrived by taxi from the airport we were a little shocked by the landscape in the area (think: dust and more dust, with very little green in sight). This hotel and the whole bay seemed like an oasis and we really enjoyed our stay, which was part 1 of our honeymoon. I had booked a room with private jacuzzi on the balcony, which we used on most nights of our stay as it was very relaxing in particular after a day of sightseeing and walking around all day and also because the pool unfortunately was only open until 6 p.m. which we found a pity a rather unusual. Both our room, the restaurant and pool area looked sleek and modern in design. We only had breakfast included and with the exception of the coffee (hence we were grateful for the Nespresso machine in our room) everything was excellent with great variety. Most of the guests when we were there were Norwegian and in general we found out that Gran Canaria must be extremely popular with Scandinavians in general and Norwegians in particular as the neighbouring village had a Norwegian church, Norwegian hairdresser, Norwegian café...you name it. We also appreciated the fact that the hotel had a small SPAR supermarket with normal (and very affordable, too) prices as opposed to the inflated hotel prices you would expect. There are several nice restaurants within walking distance. Dinner at the hotel is accompanied by life music...which you cannot ”escape” from your room, either. It ends at 9 p.m., though, so even if it is not your genre, it is bearable. We did not have a rental car and relied on public transport. There is a bus station (”Patalavaca”) a 5-minute-walk away from the hotel and we took the bus to Las Palmas, Maspalomas dunes and to Palmitos Park from there. Intervals are not the greatest, but it is very affordable and you can pay both with cash and card, so very tourist-friendly. Hotel staff was extremely friendly and service-oriented and we can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.

GGuest UserWe recently stayed at this hotel - 25th May for 7 nights as a family of 3 and my little girl is 7. Regarding sickness bug: my little girl got sick on night 5 and me on night 7. Worst sickness I've experienced, it was awful. I wasn't aware of the issue until reading these reviews so something needs to be done. The hotel and rep were great in changing bedding, cleaning aftermath of us both providing water, and organising a doctor, only because I was flying home following day. The hotel allowed us to keep the room on as there was no way I could've sat waiting in reception all day for our early evening collection. Thank you RIU you made a horrendous situation more bearable. I have had to take time off work sick and still recovering now 😔. We had friends go to Tenerife and got really poorly too so think it's doing the rounds unfortunately. Just be prepared, as you're advised to anyway when travelling abroad anywhere. On check in we were made to feel so welcome. The room was on 1st floor (128) and cannot fault the room, very spacious and beds were really comfortable ... i had the best nights sleep (until night 5). View was overlooking the Grand Amadores Thassolos Hotel so to the left of Amadores beach if looking out to sea. We had boulders in the view but it was ok as not planned to spend so much time in the room, but we did 😔. Food was really lovely and plenty choice so can't fault the food. Little deserts were amazing. The terrace outside has fabulous views and watching the sunset as you eat was just the best. Pool areas were great and kept very clean. No need to be up early to reserve a bed so that a big win. Entertainment during the day was fun, always something going on but you have to seek it so it's not in your face if you just want to relax. The water aerobics was brilliant and so much fun, I don't usually get involved but it's a must as music and atmosphere was addictive. Night entertainment was also great for the kids, and adults but I'm easily pleased and we just wanted to have a great holiday so it is what you make it. All of the staff are really friendly, accommodating and always with a smile. This is a great hotel and apart from sickness, which sadly really spoilt it for us , we had a fabulous first 4 days and met some wonderful people and my little girl made some great friends. We will definitely be back to make the most of this hotel as we lost 3 days out of the 7 and would stay longer than 7 days.

GGuest UserLocation is great, we had 8th floor sunsuites. Booked superior with side sea view. Sea view was seen at one point if u stood right in the corner....not a great view really. Had a couple of issues when we arrived, bed had one leg loose and the bedside table had 3 legs...Maintenance guy came and fixed promptly so that was fine. Glad we checked and not waited till bedtime! We had issues with our door not locking and a new lock was required..but again fixed promptly, as was the TV which only had 2 channels! Bathroom very tired and they need new beds...u sleep on a mattress topper. Comfy enough bit doesn't look great. Lots of cracks and paint top ups on ceiling. Balcony massive and u get the sun from 9am till around 430pm. Kitchen equipment good...in my opinion the balcony and location is the selling point. Pool area very nice and we liked going up there. Lift goes to 6 then u go up steps to ur room or walk to back of complex and get another lift up. Air con in bedroom was good but no instructions or remote to use it. When I asked at reception how we switched it off he said use the fuse box!!! We realised there was a switch beside the light that did something..press it...eventually went off or on. Would I stay here again? Yes but would have lowered my expectation and know what I was getting. Don't get me wrong, Clean and good location but the bathroom and shower and the beds let it down. U dont spend much time in the room but you need a good bed and a good shower. Hubby spoke to reception about poor water pressure, again maintenance guy came to loom but there wasn't any improvement. Was OK for me though, hubby likes a powerful shower. I would say the other side has better views but this side has the sun in the morning and that is what we wanted for this time of year (normally come march and have stayed at other side casalanca/cala nova side). The sun shone everday so that made the balcony/pool the place to be!!

GGuest UserPerfect location, beautiful views and close to some of south Gran Canaria’s best locations. So many restaurants! It’s 0.05km from Patalavaca beach. 20mins walk from Anfi or Arguineguin. 10mins taxi from Puerto Rico. I would go back to this hotel in a heartbeat. Booking Tip book direct and get discount. English speaking, friendly reception. I stayed in a Premium Sea View room. The view was spectacular, (I’ve added photos from room 602). The ocean is just there and Patalavaca beach is stunning. Non-seaview rooms are because there’s high wall that goes round the hotel and hides the view. Clean, comfortable beds. Good wardrobe space. Towels, hairdryer, kettle, toaster, plates, cutlery, glasses etc. Open the balcony door for a great sea breeze as there is NO aircon or Fan – This may be a dealbreaker for some. Additional Room costs: Safe and Pool towel. Get the breakfast, it’s full continental. The large pool is accessible most of the day. There are sunbeds are all in sun hotspots with umbrellas and a poolbar/food till 4pm. Walk out the pool door: for amazing beaches and swim spots. (Anfi has watersports). Good restaurants, Tapas, Anfi. Restaurant Valentino, Patalavaca. Taste Meson, Arguineguin. Puerto Rico for nightlife. Patalavaca. Walk out the pool exit facing the ocean. The walk is under a minute to the first beach. It’s a natural beach, not busy at all on weekdays. It has a great swimming area and a lifeguard. 5mins walk either side reveal more secluded and interested swimming spots. If you like snorkelling, then there are some good shoals of fish in the middle and smaller fish near the rocks. The hotel is 20mins walk (out the pool exit) to from Anfi beach. It’s next to the Anfi Timeshare area, which means lots to do and yes you can access it all. A man made pretty cove beach with swimming, small shopping centre, water sports (paddleboarding, pedalow, paragliding etc), dive ventre and modern restaurants with light evening entertainment. Anfi – Italian, Tapas, Tex mex, Maroa Island -night market live music in some restaurants till 23:30 It is also 25 mins walk from Arguineguin Harbour and main beach. There are some great swimming spots and more tapas based restaurants along the way. Before covid there was a great day market in Arguineguin. Maroa Island - The closest thing Anfi has to Ocean beach. Fancy sunbeds, great cocktails and food. You pay 12-25 euros for a secluded sun bathing area, it can get more pricey depending on the type of sunbed or area to reserve. It is also right next to a deep sea swimming area. Hike: You would need to ask reception how to get to the base, but there is a small rockyhill/mountain with a cross at the top. It’s a great walk up, apprx 20-30mins up and 15mins down (if you are athletic). You can see the whole bay from the top. Go before the sun hits the majority of the mountain or the for the sunset. It’s stunning gat the top. I walked up every morning before breakfast. Puerto Rico – Taxis are 5 euros

GGuest UserFirt class place and clean, nice bathrooms and kitchen all you need,fantastic value. Bus stop very handy just a short walk to Mogan lovely little port and a boat ride away from Pauto Rico. Plenty of bars and restaurants not as cheap as Pauto Rico but you pay for the lovely view.

GGuest UserWe have just come back from a 7 night family holiday of 3 adults and a 16 year old. I honestly cannot say anything negative about the hotel, it was spotless, the staff were friendly and helpful, the food was amazing, the rooms perfect, the grounds of the hotel were well kept and pool areas kept clean. We arrived late at night and were given a bag with water, a cheese and ham sandwich was was perfectly edible and some fruit. We had a room on the 3rd floor looking to the side of the hotel where the unused land was but this wasn't an issue as we also had teh view of the beautiful bay and got the sun from morning till night. The hotel had multiple lifts on each floor and there were lifts on the roadside for access to the upper part of the hotel. It was also easy to walk around the road to the upper part also but not with suitcases. We hardly came across a lift that was full when we pressed for one so no issues at all getting around the hotel. The rooms all had wifi, facilities to make tea/coffee and even cook if you really wanted to. There was a decent hairdryer in the bathroom, the shower was amazing too. The rooms were cleaned daily and the a/c did it's job also. We didn't put the tv on but there was one. The beds were super comfy and my son slept on the sofa bed with no problems either. The food...well that can I say, absolutely delicious, loads of variation. We were eating 3 courses at every meal. If anything the only thing the hotel could invest in would be covered domes to keep the food piping hot but it was not a big deal. The paella we had was amazing and the prawns were huge. There wasn't much in the way of entertainment but the night we went up to see the trio who did a bruno mars type tribute were brilliant. They got the crown singing and dancing and it was a brilliant night. There was a mini disco for kids before the bingo and quizzes and we took cards. We were quite happy making our own entertainment, My 16 year old son enjoying playing pool, ping pong and he even had a game of tennis and football on the specific court. The rackets and balls were behind reception. He also asked reception for an extra pillow and came back with it no issues at all. There were pool activities too...aqua dance, pool football and water polo and the aqua mat seemed to be a favourite which was a great laugh for spectators and participants. We hired pools towels, a refundable deposit of 15 euros which we got back on the day we left. We also kept the room on till 6pm for 29 Euros which we thought was good value. It would be good if there was a seating area in the main part of the hotel with some self serve drinks if you wanted to be away from the top bar area but not really a problem. It was only a 15 minute walk to Anfi where you can visit the beach and do water sports, there is a shop and places to eat and drink or have an ice cream too. We also got the ferry to Mogan from the island at Anfi. All in all a great place to stay and I
