Hampton Inn Charlotte-North/Lake Norman

Room is fairly comfortable. It was more noisy than usual but not overly bothersome The breakfast was the not so good part. Checked sausage spicy Prefer regular sausage. Waffle maker was almost unusable because of visiting team. By the late time we could get to it, the batter was gone, and the person in charge said that they would make no more. Again because of the group, the oatmeal was gone and they would make no more. This is not Hampton standard. Very disappointed

The Inn was located a few feet from I 77. My room faced the Interstate and the noise from the traffic was annoying. My sleep was interrupted frequently during the night. I was not able to relocate to a room facing away from the Interstate. There were no sidewalks and any walking was not possible.

This was a very disappointing stop. We stayed one night while traveling through (on a Friday), we payed $149 before taxes. First, let me say the hotel is reasonably clean and I didn’t have issues with that. (Although one of the elevator floors was really filthy!) The problem we had at this hotel was the noise coming from the highway and our air conditioning unit. All we heard all night long was super loud semi trucks going by. Also something was wrong with the air conditioning unit in our room- it was so loud and making a weird clanking sound. It was so hard to get any sleep. The beds were fine, comfortable enough. The free breakfast needs some more people working. The trash can was so full it was overflowing everywhere (and this was a big trash can!) They were constantly running out of everything, even the dark roast coffee ran out. Unacceptable. Overall, a disappointing stay for us. If you are sensitive to road noise, I would seriously consider passing on this one.

Nice stayed right off freeway

We stopped at this Hampton Inn without a reservation. We got off 77 and chose this hotel because we like Hampton Inn. Neek checked us in. She was so kind and helpful. Great customer service. I’ve never been to this hotel, and did not know about the one side being right next to the highway. Our king bed room was clean. I like the barn door to the bathroom, and the curtains concealing the closet. I didn’t care for the bed being so close to the bathroom. The road noise was awful and we did not sleep well. I’ve never been in a hotel with such poor soundproofing before. We needed good night’s sleep before a long drive the next day. Very disappointing. Breakfast Friday morning started at 6, which was good since we wanted to be on the road by 7. Some good food choices. Hot and cold items.
