Lagos de Fañabé Beach Resort

I was a bit concerned when I read the reviews but please don't be. We arrived early evening and were given rooms 1071 and 1072. However, we had paid for air conditioning through TUI and these rooms do not have them. I spoke to the reception who said they would tell their manager and i should do the same with the TUI rep. After speaking with her the next day we were moved to rooms 2070 and 2072 which did have ac and an amazing view. The hotel even upgraded our all inclusive so that we were able to use the beach bar and beds which was amazing. The rooms have everything you need including a fridge and a coffee machine. We were even left a bottle of sparkly blue muscato. Beds are comfy with lots of wardrobe space to use. Balcony was great to watch the sunset from. It was my daughters 17th birthday while we were there and the hotel suprised her with a card, cake and bubbly. The food we found to be really good and we didn't have any issues. The staff work extremely hard with long hours. The pools are lovely though you can't use lilos or floats. The hotel is in a great location just a min walk to the beach and surrounded by great restaurants. The only downside for me was that our rooms were at the top of a hill which I didn't know before so got lots of exercise walking to and fro! All in all a lovely hotel but not necessarily good for young families as it is quite a quiet hotel.

The hotel is spotless , clean rooms , immaculate communal areas but this is not a family hotel . The pool lacks any kind of vibe and there is no entertainment except for a singer or dancer at 8pm for one hour . This is not the kind of hotel you would bring teenagers to as there is nothing to keep them entertained . We opted for half board and have had lunch instead of dinner most days as the choices were poor . It’s such a shame as there is so much potential but something is missing - atmosphere ! There are a lot of the apartments which are privately owned which means that you are amongst people with second homes as opposed to holiday makers . If you are a Brit looking for your usual pool holiday , this js not the place to come . It is suited to couples looking for a quiet break . Really disappointed as I had thought long and hard before booking .

We arrived at the resort 4 days ago and on arrival have found we had a one bed apartment for 2 adults, 2 children (a sofa bed for the kids) - our mistake when booking! We asked reception if they had any two bed to upgrade to but unfortunately nothing at that time. 2 days later we spoke to them again and they had a two bed available the next day at no extra cost for the remainder of our holiday. Can’t thank the reception staff enough for their help. The resort itself is lovely and in a perfect location for access to everywhere. There is a lovely roof terrance that has the most comfy sunbeds and picturesque views! We stayed bed and breakfast and there was always plenty to choose from in the mornings. Would definitely book again!

The balcony view and position is very nice The village atmosphere is cosy. The position of the rooms are a nice thought although difficult for wheelchairs. The lounge music during breakfast is very nice. Friendly people at the restaurant, the cleaning ladies and at the reception. Pet friendly hotel. Having a kitchenette corner is always handy if you cannot make the breakfast-time. And to clean the utensils for our cat.

Food is fine yet not awesome. The location is really good. In general, this is chill+ rekax place. Staff is very helpful and nice. Rooms are spacious. There are no air conditioning, yet fans are doing surprisingly good work. The swimming pools are small but enough, also we didn't have a problem with finding a free spot. The location is very good.
